Sweden's Buffy...

So while eating lunch I listen to a political radio show and today I'm still kind of laughing about it because it was so unexpected... So they're talking about the collapse of a government deal due to withdrawn support from the Christian right-wing party, strongly represented by their new party leader,

then suddenly the host goes "did any of you guys ever watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer?" and then compares the party leader to Buffy, but as a young, peppy Deal-Slayer. Haha. (Actually first he dismissed the movie and hailed the show.)

So I give thee... Sweden's political Buffy! 😛 She kind of looks the part, eh?

But this is cool. It reminds me of that russian lady that quoted Angel's Epiphany speech.

I wonder if anybody couls steal a line from a Buffy speech, like one of the interminable Season 7 ones? 😛

It's not very popular at all I'd say, that was partly why I was suprised. It was really funny though because the host is fairly young, but the co-hosts are a lot older so they hmm-ed and hawed awkwardly through that question, hehe.

C'mon, small, blonde, peppy smile. She's kind of Buffish. 😉

Haha, well she does wear a cross all the time and fight the creatures of darkness...

I think it got some more attention when it was put in as a kind of after school special (horribly butchered by censorship) and was aired every day. But when it first started airing only season 1-2 got a reasonable time slot. After that they stopped advertising the show completely and stuck it with a 11pm-midnight slot on Wednesdays.

lol, that sounds like such a random comparision to me.
Great fun to hear though and she does kinda look the part at least.

Can say that Buffy totally passed me by when it first aired here.
But I've never been very updated with the current shows on Swedish TV so it doesn't say much... don't think I know anyone who watched it either.
