Sweets For The Sweet

Hey,

Why does it have to be the ladies that get the sweets?!?!!?

This is the leap year. OK that means on Feb 29th the ladies propose and such to the chaps but I think that should be extended to St Vals day - the ladies should make the effort.

If you have a good guy, Feb 14 should be just like every other day because he treats you like a queen.

Now, I want my chocolates, champagne and finessing this year....ohh and a violinist!!

What the heck, I guess a little sweetening up wouldn't hurt any of us!
My hubby and I don't really get into this stuff. We usually go out to celebrate, but we don't usually do gifts and sweets and stuff.

When I was in college, though, we lived 8 hours (and some mountains - and some states) apart. Every year, my then-boyfriend (now husband!) braved the snow and came to visit me. 🙂 We also had a restaurant that we went to every year.
 
I never get anything for Valentine's day! Granted, I've been single every Valentine's since birth but that's not the point! Where's my secret admirer?!?

Okay...singleton rant over 😛

But chocolate would be welcome...

As long as it's soft-centred, & coated with white chocolate and NOT coffee or nutty, then I'm a happy bunny. 😀

Thorntons White Champagne truffles will do the trick, or failing that a hand-picked selection from Chocolate Now. A lovely guy sent me some last year as a thank you gift....not my husband I hasten to add, and they were just divine!
 
We don't normally celebrate it here at all - it's just another recent West-like "tradition" - yet, still not popular much. The Orthodox church does not recognise St. Valentine as one of its Saints' list. So I don't expect much on this day. Well, maybe be a rose, or smth minor as knickknack gift, or nothing at all.
That's not a habit here.

But I'd love to get some really noir chocolate. Mintflavored, yum.

Other than that, chocolate is always good. The more expensive, the better.

Well I really don't need any sweets this years as I'm on a diet. I'm still trying to lose that extra baby weight from when I was pregnant a year ago. Up until two years ago I was single and never got any sweet for Valentines Day and last year my boyfriend didn't get me any sweets he gave balloons instead. But I must say I do have a weakness for anything chocolate.
 
I think last year was the first year my husband got me anything for Valentine's Day and we had been married for 7 years. He got me some pink and red candy kisses (yummy) and a box of assorted chocolates (with the cream centers). I really don't need those this year (tying to lose weight) but I would love to get some. I doubt I will, though. He didn't get me anything for our anniversary which was last month. In the 8 years we've been married he has gotten me flowers once and that was for Mother's Day last year.
 
The only thing I've ever gotten for valentines day is a chocolate heart...from my Grandma :lmao: I doubt I'll get anything, it's like my valentines tradition...don't get anything 😛
 
I hope my future wife hates Valentine's Day...otherwise she might be a somewhat unhappy woman that time of year.
 
I never really get anything on Valentine's present unless I'm in a relationship, which I am not this year, so I'll be very happy to even receive a 'Happy Valentine's day' from someone. 🙂 Not disappointed if I don't, though lol.

Valentine's Day is just a big conspiracy to make single people feel even more depressed about their single status so that they go out and bing on chocolate that they have to buy themselves. It's just so unfair lol

I will be buying Dairy Milk chocolate. I love it 🙂 The big family sized bar 😉
