Switching ships

I use to be a Huge Spuffy fan... now I like them but Dru and Spike are just cuter.

I at one point in season 5 of Angel was all into Spike/Illyria then switched to Wes/Illyria

I am always going back and forth over Angel and Darla and Angel and Cordy.
 
i loved willow/oz. but eventually switched to willow/ tara.
but thats the way its written. its written for the viewer to change their minds.
i was against tara for ages cos i loved oz so much, but was converted at last. so many people were like that. then when tara died, people were furious.
but that was the point!
i think thats why not many people liked kennedy (i did) because there wasnt enough time to get used to her.
however i never really liked buffy/angel
 
I went from Bangel to Spuffy in season seven. You've gotta love them in season seven. 🙂 I never liked Xander/Cordelia, and I went from Oz/Willow to Tara/Willow when they got together. 🙂
 
Personally, I've always like them all. Every relationship on the show has had some great moments, and then some moments that you can't stand. I've decided that because of that, I wasn't going to choose one over the other. I would just appreciate what each ship had that was unique.

I agree that most of us probably like Buffy/Angel from the start. It was pretty much the only relationship, and it was build up from the start. That relationship has soo much depth to it, and a lot of passion. That's what I like about it.

But I also see good points in Buffy/Riley and Buffy/Spike. So, I never picked one. Just found the appropriate things to say about the couple when talking about them.

All of the other relationships in the verse are the same. I like them all. They all have such a passion to them that it's hard to resist. And honestly, who didn't like Tara/Willow or Fred/Wesley. It's easy.
 
Hmmm, I don't think I ever really changed who I like together. I guess I'm just boring!! :wow:
 
I liked Buffy and Angel, and Spike and Dru (to this day, I still wish they'd have their happy ending - 150 years together - there's love), but when Fred appeared I switched to Angel/Fred, at a push Angel/Gwen. I still haven't found anyone I like with Buffy, I reckon a human who has a sense of humour and is in the "light". Girl gets too depressed by the men she's with. I didn't like Spike/Buffy at all - it's this trend of all males falling for Buffy. What about a little unrequited Willow UST or a love triangle with Anya and Xander that lasted more than an episode? But anyway, I try to take a step back on ships in general. There's less tension in life that way 🙂 (Truth be told, there's really only one ship I sail, and that's John/Aeryn)
 
I'm not much of a shipper to be truthful, i don't really have any preferences beyond what i think makes for an interesting story.

I enjoyed the Buffy/Angel arc through the first three seasons of BtVS but i was glad they gradually phased it out rather than tried to continue it with them in seperate shows. I thought the transition from lovers to really good friends we saw over the last few years was excellent.

The Buffy/Spike relationship made for some amazing television moments, as well as some great development in both characters, which is what all good relationships should be about, but i feel that they were never destined to end up as a happy couple. They may have had some deep feelings for one another but they weren't right as a couple in the longterm. Nothing wrong with that however, some of the best relationshis i've had have been with girls who were nothing like what i normally go for. Variety is the spice of life after all!

As far as Angel/Cordy, well i think they might actually have been the most natural couple with the most potential had things not happened the way they did with Charisma leaving the show. The relationship between those two was very natural, starting as allies, becoming friends then family, finally realising that they were falling in love. I don't doubt for a second that Angel and Buffy loved each other but given Buffy's age at the time and how quickly things happened you have to question the strength of the basis for the relationship.

It is a shame that things weren't to be, as far as Angel and Cordy were concerned. The conversation they had in You're Welcome made me realise how different things might have been for Angel had they actually met up for that "talk" at the end of season three. It would have been a very different series, i believe. Whether it would have been better or worse we will never know.

My point is thought that i'm pretty much happy with the way all three of these relationships turned out as far as they went. They all advanced the characters and were true to the way the people were at that time in their lives. It would actually please me if all three of the people involved ended up with totally different people in the end though. Buffy finally sees Xander for the man he is, Angel makes things work with Nina and Spike finds himself a nice punk rock chick to spend his unlife with, or better yet he ends up with Faith, now those two would really know how to make fireworks in the bedroom! 🙂
 
I started watching the show around Season 4 and was big on Buffy/Riley and Willow/Tara. But in the end, neither ship really held up for me. I realized that Buffy and Riley were not really suited for each other, romantically (they would have made great friends), and that Willow needed to get beyond Tara, in order to mature as a person (just as Buffy needed to get beyond Angel, and Spike needed to get beyond Drusilla).

My favorite ship will always be Buffy/Spike, but I'm glad that neither ended up with anyone. Or that Angel ended up with anyone. I think it was best for all concerned. I don't think that people need to revolve their lives around a relationship.
 
I'm a huge Spuffy fan, and to this day, I still LOVE Anya and Xander together! They just seemed so right, but nothing lasts forever! :crying2:
