Symbolism in Grave?

Anyone read The da Vinci Code? All of a sudden the pentacle on top takes on an entirely different meaning. For those of you who haven't read it, the pentacle is supposed to be some kind of old pagan symbol for the sacred feminine.

As a Wiccan, I feel I must clarify this.

A pentacle is a flat disc bearing the motif of a five pointed star. This star is called a pentagram and the points represent the five elements; Fire, Water, Air, Earth and Spirit (the top point). It is used in many Wiccan ceremonies and in conjuction with magickal spells.

When upside down, the pentagram has come to mean negativity, black magick and Satanism (though Wiccans never do this last one, since we don't believe in Satan or the devil). However, some Wiccans see the pentagram with the point up as representing the Goddess, while a reversed one represents the Horned God. The Satanists just stole it (but the Christians did the same thing so... whatever).

On the topice of the episode, in the commentary they say that climbing out of the hole in the ground was a replay of Buffy's coming out of her grave at the begining of the season, but unlike the first time she was doing it willingly with a new zest and will to live.

Buffy has always been a series that used metaphors to tell something behind the monster of the week. Why should the season finale be any different?
