So, which if these three screwed characters do you feel the worst for? I guess I would have to say Faith...
1. She had a bad childhood 🙁
2. She had to witness her first watcher's gruesome death
3. Everyone thinks Buffy's a way better Slayer than her
4. Buffy has the Scooby Gang while Faith is sort of left out
5. Giles likes Buffy better than Faith, obviously
6. Buffy got a lot of credit for Faith's Slayer work
7. She doesn't have any real friends, family, or lover
8. She accidentally killed a guy and it ruined her whole life, spiritually as well as literally
9. She went to jail as part of her "redemption" (isn't Angel just as in need - if not moreso - of redemption as Faith? I don't see him stepping behind bars!)
10. No one really understood her or listened to her
11. Buffy put her in a coma
12. No one understood that the reason she went to work for the Mayor was because he legitimately cared about her, plus he was the only "positive" parental figure she ever had (presumably)
 
i am able to be sympathetic towards ll of them. Faith had a sucky life and chose the wrong road, and It is hard to change direction, i have seen that in real life. Buffy has had is sucky too, i mean there have been some really aweful things she has had to go through but she did, the one instance that stands out in my mind is sending her boyfreind to hell. I'm not sure i could do it. As for ngel well, I do sometimes find it hard to feel sorry for him as his actions are his fault when it comes down to it. But he is working really hard to make ammends and has been denied the love of his very long life. But then I'm a shipper so...Anyway there is my two cents.

I will admit however that Buffy and ngle can be slightly too whingy about it all sometimes.

I agree that the mayor was the only positive parental role model in Faith's life, and that he really cared about her. They were sort of a "dark" version of Buffy and Giles.

But she didn't know how the relationship would develop when she went to work for him; she just knew he was a "black hat", and at the top of the food chain in Sunnydale.

Anyway, my sympathy vote went to Angel, just because anyone who's lived 200+ years and accumulated that much bad karma deserves it. (Besides, he had to leave town to truly break up with Buffy, and moving is a traumatic experience in itself, even if you don't have to worry about daylight.)
 
lol...i feel bad for Angel cuz he'd just come back from hell and to top it all off, buffy had sent him there, plus he was feeling really guilty about everything that he had done and he and buffy finally boke up.

I chose Angel. He felt guilty for what he did in S2 and he wanted forgiveness from Buffy and the others.

Yeah, I was gonna say. Since when do we gotta feel bad for anyone?

Okay, fine, I'll pick someone. I always felt a little bad for Angel since he can't ever be trully happy. Then again, he's annoying, so he deserves it.🙄

Also, I felt bad for Faith. One of the main reasons she did the things she did was because she wasn't as lucky as Buffy was; having the powers she has and have friends and family that support her the whole way through. Faith was always alone; sometimes not by choice.
 
i feel bad for willow. i just started watching season six again and I love tara. no one should lose thier heart that way cos that is what happened, someone ripped her heart out. I couldn't bare it if someone did that to me, i would do exactly what she did. I feel sorry for willow. I love her and i loved tara.

Wow, I just wanted to say that's a really good reason. I was picking Angel and Faith because they were on the poll, but now that you said that I'd definitely pick Willow.

I know, that's what I was saying. I couldn't pick her, but if she was a choice, I would have.
 
i couldn't pick her either but i certainly would have. i wrote that message while i was drunk but i still mean it every word of it. No one deserves that, but the truth of it is, thats' life, it precedes death, and feeling sorry for someone never helps them. Not that we can help fictional characters but you know what i mean.
 
I think I symapthised with Faith and Buffy in equal measures. Ok, so Faith was the one with the bad childhood but Buffy had to see her try and destroy her life.

I know she's not on the poll, but the character I felt most sympathy for during season three was Willow. I can't remember the episode, but there's a great scene where she breaks down in tears just after she's learned that Xander slept with Faith. Willow had been seeing Faith slowly tear apart the gang over weeks/months and this just topped it all off.
 
I feel bad for Willow. She first lost Oz, and then Tara got shot.
She went all evil and try to destroy the world, and now she's
just want forgiveness from her friends.

Poor Willow. 🙁
 
Faith, because when she needed Buffy the most, she turned on her, and the only way Faith knew how to react was the way she did, and she ended up getting stabbed for it....

cuasee of reasons stated before and cause of how she came SO close to be okay again and then wesley came and ruined it (granted he thought he was doingthe right thing but beh!) and so she just kept on missing out on things, like thats the story of life, i mean we saaw in season 4 that even she doesnt like wahts happeing in her lifea nd waht shes becoem
