Tabula Rasa: Things you wanted to see

In my opinion, Tabula Rasa was a GREAT episode. But there are a few more things I would have liked to see. For example, I think that it would have been amazing if Buffy and Spike were immediately attracted to each other in an extremely lusty way, Buffy completely ignored Dawn, and Willow and Xander started acting like a couple. I can completely imagine Buffy and Spike making out right when the spell breaks. 😀

What things did you want to happen in Tabula Rasa?

I wanted Tara to do something totally crazy and out of character. I would have been cool if (for some reason) she thought she was a superhearo and ran around trying to kick vampire butt. Other than that, I was happy with the way they wrote it. My favourite parts were Giles/Anya love mixup and Spike as "Randy Giles".

Agree about Tara :)
How did you know? TB happens to be my all-time favorite Buffy episode, ever. 😉 You can probobly assume that by my name...

Buffy and Spike DID kiss for the first time in this episode - in the end, in The Bronze. 🙂

While they weren't initially attracted to each other in this episode, they did have a connection and a trust that neither could explain. Spike, after he vamps out knows he's a vampire and yet comments on how he doesn't want to bite Buffy. She comments on how she doesn't want to stake him. It's also worth noting that "Randy" is the first person she chooses to have her back and go outside with her to see what's up ("Ready Randy?").

What would I have liked to have seen? Honestly, I think the episode is just perfect as it is.

They kissed for the first time in 'Someting Blue' "SPIKE LIPS! LIPS OF SPIKE!!!"
I think that it would have been fun if Tabula Rasa was based off their secret desires/ fears/ thoughts. 😀

One of my favorite episodes of all time.

I don't think anything should be changed. In my opinion, it was written very well and as fun it is to imagine it with some variables, I personally wouldn't want to see it differently. I loved it 😀

Interested to see what people come up with in here though 🙂

Love the episode!
I'm not sure if there's anything I'd have liked to see... although now that I think about it, it would have been cool Tara has done something funky like Emzzie said. But I picture her trying to rob a bank or go to the Bronze and dance like Faith. 😛

I am now imagining Tara jamming out and acting as crazy as humanly possibly. 😀 It would make sense though; She may have always felt that her life would be a lot better if she weren't so shy.

I absolutely love this episode! One of the few that I really can't think of much to add/change to improve it. I wouldn't have minded them doing something different with Dawn as I don't think she changed very much. Maybe something with how she always wished she was the slayer and the center of attention like Buffy normally is so she tries to take charge and be the leader, only to have her lack of experience show with some hilarious results. That said, I'm kind of happy they didn't do much with her as I find all the other characters much more interesting even when they haven't lost their memories.

.

This wasn't the first time Buffy and Spike kissed. Don't you remember when they kissed under Willow's other spell gone awry, in Something Blue. And of course there is the kiss in Once More With Feeling, which was one or two episodes before Tabula Rasa

Of course. I mean their first kiss while not under a spell :)

And in Intervention :)
I do think it would have been cool if Tara had been a little more outgoing. Other that that, the ep was perfect. When Giles and Anya thought they were in love, it totally made the ep for me; I laughed to the point of tears when they kissed!! LOL

hahah definitely! There are so many interesting characters in that episode but those two just take the cake. I also loved how Anya kept insisting that the spell they were looking for was in that one book and things just kept going from bad to worse. Props to Giles for fighting off that skeleton!

I love this episode. I rank it #3 on my all time favourite list. The only thing I would change would be having Dawn NOT sing "The Ants go Marching One by One" song. It allways strikes me as odd and too babyish. Other than that, it is perfection

I know how popular this episode is, but I have to say that it's too overrated. I had high expectations for this episode, but was too disappointed when watching it. Other than Randy/Rupert/Enya –which was brilliant and unexpected- everything else is just too fanficcy predictable and cringe-worthy.

For example, Dawn saying "I don't think I drink" because she's a teenager. Like she psychically knew she was underage.

And Tara thinking Willow's name is cute, get it? Because they're in love, so it's only logical that Tara will find Willow's name to be pretty.

And Buffy finding out Dawn's real name because she's wearing a necklace called "Dawn." Yeah, I get it, it's an attempt to make Buffy and Spike the only ones who don't know their real names. I find it lame.

And my most cringe-worthy moment was Buffy and Dawn figuring out they were sisters because they fought. Give me a break.

Spike, Giles and Anya are the ones that made the episode. Their situation is SO wrong it's really funny and enjoyable. It's the most amusing one out of all situations, which were too dull and predictable. Xander/Willow? Already done. Buffy/Dawn? Nothing new.

Another thing that annoys me about the episode is how they handled Spike's vampire nature. This is one of the reasons I've enjoyed Spin the Bottle in AtS more than Tabula Rasa. I think the way they dealt with Angel's situation as a vampire was much more interesting and real than they did with Spike's in Tabula Rasa. Good or not, Spike is a vampire. When trapped in a shop with humans, he must feel some vampire urge to bite and drink from them. It's an instinct. It has nothing to do with him being good or bad. Angel still felt like a vampire and was too conflicted about these weird feelings he's having, it was twice funnier and more realistic.

No way overrated.

I wondered about Spike not wanting to bite anyone too. But Angel didn't instantly want to bite anyone in that episode-he didn't even know he was a vampire, just thought he was a teenager like everyone else. When he realized he was a vampire he reacted one way, but that doesn't mean a different reaction isn't possible. I thought Spike always had more inherent humanity than Angel so maybe that's it. And it was two different spells, maybe they just worked different ways.

I'm not talking about who's better, I'm talking about instinct. As a vampire, Spike would surely have weird urges, be drawn to necks, smell others' blood, hear their heartbeats -what ever is that distinguishes a vampire from a mere human. Angel did have weird thoughts and feelings in Spin the Bottle, sitting next to Cordelia, he had an urge to bite her. Surely, Spike will feel the same sitting next to all these pumbing pulses.

Yeah Xander and Willow being more couple-y would have been nice. 🙂 They're so cute together. Aaah, Xillow.
