Most of you already know that I am *way* into smells. It is my most favorite scent and one of my most entertaining topics to talk about...

I apologize if this idea has already been discussed here but I am just way too curious and may have forgotten...What scents do you all choose to frangrance your body with? Are you au natural, spicy, sweet...?

I vary in the scents that I wear but my favorite and most commonly worn perfume by me is called, Les Feminines Nirmala by Molinard. It is from the 50's, and is a fruity perfume consisting of lemon, apple, blackcurrant, incense, vetiver, patchouli and beeswax. I get more compliments when I wear this scent than anything else, I believe it mixes well with chemistry.

Many of you might know the perfume that was based off of Nirmala, it is called Angel. I also have Angel and wear it but it is not the original and not quite as lovely.

Interesting thread, Chas.

Hmm....I don't know if this thread was meant for females only..LOL...but I'll post, seeing as your thread is nearing the bottom of the page....and I simply won't allow that. ::nono1:: 😛

Like you...I enjoy fragrances. I am what you might call very "cologny", there isn't a single day that I won't wear cologne. I always have to smell good, I HATE smelling bad...it's a terrible habit. Lol.

But I'm a bit of an old schooler when it comes to fragrances. I wear the old FAHRENHEIT and POLO colognes....as well as PIERRE CARDIN, DRAKKAR NOIR, MICHAEL JORDAN...and more recently, VERY VALENTINO and PERRY ELLIS.

I love smellin' nice women's perfume...I've never heard of yours though, Chas. I'll look into it...if it's nice, I'll make my lady wear it. Lol.
Right now, she wears a perfume called CHANEL No. 19...drives me wild. I never get tired of it. It's my fave women's fragrance.

Hmmmmm.... Not really a lover of smells. But I gotta say it's better if something smells good instead of bad. lol

My most favourite perfume is called "Tresor" by Lancome. It's the loveliest and freshest smell ever.

I also love the smell of freshly baked bread or anything from a bakers. 😀

Ahh, yes...baked bread...and other pastries....good call elmo. Mmmmm.....

I like smells asscociated with NICE childhood memories. To me, something simple like the smell of grass and other foliage after a rainfall...reminds me of being a kid in Puerto Rico.

But you see, that's good! The grass smell makes you sneeze, therefore leading to clear nasal passages 😛 ....so you see, smells ARE good! 😛

I really like the many fragrances that women wear today, however... they need to stick with less than three at a time. My ex had this thing about wearing perfume, a perfumed body spray, a strongly scented lotion, and she always smelled like vanilla (almost as if she rolled in it like a kitten). She never stunk, but I would love to be able to pick out the aromas she wore, not be swamped with them.
For myself, I either wear Candies or Joop, cuz I like the way they make my butt look in these jeans.

With ya there, OM. Springtime here in the Great White North has a unique odour too...especially after a good rain, the place smells...clean. As for personal hygiene, I use unscented soap and anti-perspirant...no colognes, I break out in hives if I put that stuff on. I've got very sensitive skin for stuff like that. Even highly perfumed soaps make me break out. So I settle for clean and odourless, as much as possible. My thoughts on ladies' scents is that they are nice if they are understated rather than overstated. A hint of scent is much more intersting than someone who smells like they poured a whole can of Raid over their head before they left home. That goes for guys too. I got into an elevator once and had to get out at the next floor when I got a whiff of the only other person on the elevator (a guy). I imagine I experienced what WWI soldiers underwent when a mustard-gas attack happened...gawd he stunk. Bad BO covered with 12 gallons of some type of musk cologne...I gag to think of it, even now...

I'm with KD on this - I can't use most types of deodorant because of being allergic to them so I tend to aim for that clean, soap and water smell (and sometimes I achieve it🙂) I don't use aftershave very often basically because I really hate shaving so I only do it when I absolutely have to (scruffy git, me - Mrs P hates it😉)

As for ladies' fragrances, I also prefer the subtle approach. Mrs P owns several bottles of stuff which smells nice - for everyday wear she uses Alyssa Ashley Musk (cheapish but smells nice) and for the special occasions it's either Estee Lauder Cinnabar or Lacoste perfume both of which are very pleasant. I am also partial to the smell of Estee Lauder Youth Dew which was the favourite of a girlfriend a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...🙂

Personally wear Ralph Lauren: Safari, 'cause I love the smell and so does my fiancee. She on the other hand doesn't wear perfume at all and it doesn't really bother me. I don't mind if a girl is wearing perfume or not, it's not really a big issue for me.

My favourite scent (not in terms of perfume/cologne) has to be a good wood fire burning. I love that scent!

I used to wear that all the time! I still have a bottle of the perfume and a spray with the body oil mist stuff! 🙂

My favourite smell is the ocean, so I wear Perry Ellis 360 Degrees, it's just AWESOME! Smells like you just spent a day in the ocean. And sometimes I'll wear Oceanus from the Body Shop.

Also - there's this hair stuff for wavy hair, it's called Beach Blonde by John Frieda..and it's actually oil and water and you have to shake it...well it's just AWESOME! Smells all coconutty and beachy. I love it!

Mmmm...Jenny, I love cocounut and beachy smells too! All tropical and summery...makes me feel very settled and happy! 🙂

Ah! The spells of the tropics. I agree 120%. A lovely day sitting at the beachside, sipping funny fruity drinks served in a coconut and a big paper umbrella. Tan young women covered in coco oil and sunning themselves... uh oh... sorry... got off on a rant...It's a lotta fun... To bad I don't tan.

My roomie actually has a bottle of the good ole' Fahrenheit because she loves the way it smells so much...she has to wear it herself every once in awhile...crazy, huh? She would love the way you smell! 😉

It is really lovely, however, perfume does mix differently with different chemistry's...I cannot guarantee you would like it on her!

Oh and for all of you natural, soapy and deorderant types...rock on! This guy that I am seeing right now doesn't believe in antiperspirant so he only wears deorderant and when you live in Arizona, you sweat...but I actually really enjoy his natural scent, never too strong of a body odor but just enought to let you know he is natural. Kinda hot... lol 😀

I love smells, period.

Interesting topic. My favorite Perfume is Kate Spade's. It got a hunnysuckle smell to it. I also love Herbal Essence shampoos and conditioners. The smells are awesome in those, especially the kiwi, kumquat, and fig shampoo. Ahh it smells so good.

I usually just have scented deodorant. I used to have a really nice raspberry one, but now I have this one that's a cross between bubblegum and fresh cut grass. It actually smells pretty good.

For perfumes, I (hate to admit it, but) like J.Lo's Glow. I kinda think it's romantic. Calvin Klein's most recent is nice as well. But my favorite scent is Jovan White Musk. The first time I smelled it in a magazine I fell in love with it.

Shampoos, I like Suave, Herbal Essence, and Garnier Fructisse. Suave's jasmine and tea leaves is divine, I swear.

I agree with Lethe -- I love Jovan White Musk, although I don't wear it. I wear some type of BCBG perfume I think (Lol.. I don't pay much attention to labels)... it's kind of pink or orange in colour, and it's a sweet smell.

Hmmm...my smelly friend...well, I was never into all of that fregrants jazz...I wore what was around...lol...which might explain why I wasn't the popular type...but then again it could have just been all the angry glaring I did...

Eh...aanyway...I used to enjoy a perfume called "Ghost Mist"...couldn't find that anymore so I went with those smelly fruity lotions...then Chasity and I went to the mall and I was just beside myself as I watched her drop over a hundred for PERFUME! 😉 😛 So, like the true cheapskate I am I grabbed a bunch of free samples...from those I decided I liked a thing called "Shi"...so occasionally I return to the mall and mooch myself a freebie...but right now I love a scented lotion by the name of "Warm Vanilla Sugar". It's tastey. 😉

I also used to nuzzle my face into my THEN boyfriends armpit...he smells like a sexy man with all of his MANLY-NESS!

In my defense all I can say is it was bonus time! lol 😉

Wow...bubblegum and fresh cut grass? Both them awesome scents...not too sure about the combo but I really crave a sniff! Who makes it?

I don't really buy perfumes, rather I like natural oils. I like to smell just slightly like either vanilla or lavendar. You know, you can only smell it if I'm moving around and such, but it's not coming off me in waves or anything... Not big on being doussed in scent.

As for real perfumes though, my mom likes one by Yves St.Lauren called "Rive Gouche". I really like the way it smells. I used to occasionally "borrow" some.

In general though, I haVe to say that I like anything that's fruity without being too sweet.
