Has anyone ever seen this excellent series created by steven spielberg (ooppps i think i spelt that wrong lol), my dad broght a DVD home with him from thailand with every episode on it and i watched them all even though it took me like a month to do. How freaky is that little girl, especially when them dolphins start bowing to her, why would they do that, how do they know shes an 1/8 alien- is it me or is that the same girl from uptown girl

Also did anyone else notice luke from tru calling played the alien girls dad, freakkkky!!!

I tried to watch it, because there were Buffy actors and actresses in it. (the guy who played Parker, and I'm not sure, but I think Julie Benz).

I found it kind of boring myself. Just my opinion.

I saw one last night though, that was the same kind of idea, but just off the scale better, again in my opinion. It's called the 4400.

I liked Taken SO much better than the 4400. N4H, if you got the second generation, then I'd prolly agree with you. The first half was way better. With the second half, yes - The 4400 is better.

I also LOVED Taken i wouldn't go out of the house when it was on. It's like 20 hours long. And the little girl is in uptown girls her name is Dakota Fanning and she doesn't seem to age at all (She's now 13) and is quite a talented little actress

Back on topic, what is Taken all about, I have heard of it and they played it on BBC2 a while back.
Taken is basically about the story the same family (different generations) over 50 years who had been abducted by aliens. And one of them (I think Julie Benz) made a little Baby alien/human and they the government gets involved and it all goes mad with great SFX and acting and a little girl who is 1/8 alien has to escape from the aliens and the government(With a really great ending which would have any one in tears) . This show was great. It was 10 episodes (all 2-hour long eps)

Confusing?? Well thats not the half of it!!!

Actually is follows three familys, if julie benz is darla she doesnt have the alien/huma baby- i know what you mean about the ending though, i cried like ababy, will there be a taken 2 or something does anyone know?

I heard the Mr. Speilberg was planning on doing Taken 2 which is why he sorta left the ending open, but i think he has now changed his mind. But I think i will probably change once again when he looks for a new project

My dad did the same thing to me...except he rented the dvd's at blockbusters, lol. Anywho, I like it. It wasn't the best...but good. (I love Dakota Flanning!)

One question i get that the aliens main goal was to create the 1/8 alien little girl but why?

Taken follows three families (four if you count the aliens) through 3-4 generations, starting with WWII and the Roswell crash. The Families go as follows:

The Crawfords-government
  • Owen Craford-was stationed near Roswell at the time of the now famous crash, and later was the first leader of the US Military's group to find out what the aliens were after, and beat them at their own game
  • Sam Crawford-Owen's son, was very anti-establishment, including his father and his organization, died in his 20s
  • Eric Crawford-Owen's other son, took over the project when his father died
  • Mary Crawford-Eric's daughter, she is in charge of the project when everything comed to a head...
The Keyes-abductees
  • Russel Keyes-is abducted, along with his entire squad, over the skies of Germany durring WWII. He is the only one who doesn't die as a result, though he continues to be 'taken' throughout his life
  • Jesse Keyes-Russel's son, begins to be taken at age 8, though the aliens seem to have a vested interest in him--they get him out of several life-threatening situations
  • Charlie Keyes-Jesse's son, is also taken until he is finally paired up with Lisa Clark (see below)
The Clarks
  • Sally Clark-a lonely housewife, she makes a connection wiht 'John', an alien from the Roswell crash, before he disappears
  • Tom Clark-Sally's son by her deadbeat husband, originally writes books disprooving alien life, then switches sides
  • Becky Clark-Sally's daughter by her husband, very protective of her younger brother
  • Jacob Clark-Sally's son by John, shows unique mental powers but a frail frame
  • Lisa Clark-Jacob's daughter, is paired with Charlie in an abduction to produce...
  • Allie Keyes-a little girl wise beyond her years

When John met Sally Clark, the aliens discovered something completely unknown to them, something they had lost so far back in their eveolution that they had no knowledge of it at all: human emotion. So they began an elaborate plan to see if it could be put back. That's why they made Allie, and that's why they wanted to take her back.
