Talks are underway for a film
David Boreanaz appeared on CNN today sporting blonder hair and a goatee. He said in the interview that the season five finale is left very open ended which paves the way for a movie. Apparently, talks are underway for not only a film but also a game.

Although there are rumours of an Angel movie this September, this appears less likely given the news of David Boreanaz's talks to appear in the UK in the West End play When Harry met Sally.

Many thanks to "Destiny" at the Save Angel for providing us with this information.

Curious about the hair. Anyway good news for a film at least and a game, should be good. If there is a game it'll be announced next week at E3 (big game convention)

David Boreanaz Comments on TV Movies

The Angel star shares his thoughts about the future of the series in the May 5th issue of the Toronto Star.

Let the gnashing of the (sharp) teeth begin. Since the WB cancelled Angel months ago, fans have campaigned to have the series resurrected in some form. The latest rumours suggest as many as six made-for-tv movies next season. But in an interview with the Star yesterday, David Boreanaz who plays Angel, said: "No. Big screen opportunity, yeah, but I would say that's the only way," when asked abut continuing Angel. The finale episode airs on the New VR on May 19. Read more from Boreanaz in Starweek May 15.

Star Relieved At Angel's End

Following the previous update, David elaborates on the future of Angel to CNN Headline news and reveals he's entertaining three new projects.

David Boreanaz, star of The WB's "Angel", told CNN Headline news that he's relieved that the show is finally coming to an end after five seasons, and that there would have to be a good reason for him to put Angel's black trenchcoat back on for the reported "Angel" TV movies-of-the-week under consideration for next year. "There's been talk about films, board games"”let me see"”video games," Boreanaz told the news network. "Everything, across the board. These characters that [executive producer] Joss [Whedon] has created will live forever."

"Angel" is ending May 19, though reports have suggested that The WB may be considering one or more TV movies to extend the show's story next year. But, Boreanaz said, "I think whenever they want to revisit that character and bring it to a higher plateau, I would only be interested if the bar was [raised] a lot higher."

Boreanaz, who originated the role of the vampire with a soul in the first episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" before spinning off in his own series, said that he's currently entertaining three offers for post-Angel projects.

Boreanaz added that he is in talks to appear in September in the London stage production of "When Harry Met Sally", a play that also marked the West End stage debut of Alyson Hannigan"”a "Buffy" co-star and the real-life wife of "Angel" co-star Alexis Denisof. The play has yet another "Buffy" connection: It currently co-stars Luke Perry, who played opposite Kristy Swanson in the original 1992 "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" feature film.

In other boards everyone is saying he is acting like a jerk..don't see why though....

I'm all, "Go David". Raise the bar.

If they can't do the series the way they want it on the WB, then it would be a shame to see them go back to the same network with their hat in their hand. No doubt Levin and his fellow mind-suckers at Warner are waiting to say they'll throw the Angel cast and crew some crumbs, if they're willing to make concessions.

Personally as a fan, I'm willing to wait for something better.

If they're making an Angel video game anytime soon they will definitly be announcing it. Of course they could have been talking about a board game.

I would definitly buy an Angel game!!! 🙂 I love my Buffy ones!

Great articles - thanks for posting!

Doesn't David by "raising the bar" just mean he wants to be paid more?

I can help you with that Ally. No "raising the bar" doesn't mean David wants more money (although I bet he would, and really who wouldn't). The bar raising thing is an expression in contemporary English. It comes from raising the bar in high jump or pole vault. It means a greater challenge leading to a higher quality.

If they are talking about a video game it is likely it will be announced on Tuesday/Wednesday at E3. Also Vivendi have confirmed that they will be present at ECTS in London later in the year, so if there is an Angel game it may well be playable there. I am likely to go to ECTS so this speculation is making me happy.

I'll be at E3 this weekend, if I see anything Angel related I'll notify you guys. My fingers are crossed for a big screen movie though.

Well its two days into E3 (three if you count pre-E3 conferences) and no news of an Angel game. Okay it could still be ideas at the moment which means it'll be revealed later, still, I hoped to play it at ECTS.

I think it would be great for a new film, game or anything- i wud definetly buy anythin angels on, i wud even go and see thay play if i lived in london and could afford it.

Buffy Chaos Bleeds was set between episodes 16 and 17 (or around there) of S5.

No matter where the Angel game (if there is one) is set a little bonus level where you can continue the fight from NFA has to be included.

Most likely, if a game of Angel is to be made it will be centered between seasons :: wacko : , just like the Buffy games

Yeah, it would probley be a whole new diffrent plot. I got hope for a big screen movie or a TV Original movie.

Can he ever make up his mind on what he wants to do? The last I heard, he wasn't interested in playing Angel, again.
