Probably the scene in season 6 when she's talking to Dawn about the really big shake, and then she blurts out the fact that she'll always be there. That and the scene in Seeing Red where she tells Willow not to get used to clothes. Or any scene in season 6, really. I love Tara!

Tara had a really good singing voice, lovely shoulders and an intensity in the eyes that was thought provoking.
The episode I liked her best in was Restless. I wrote a bit of fanfic based from what she said, 'They will find out, you know, about you'. [to Willow]

One of my fav Tara moments was in Hush - she was already developing more courage then. Wasn't it Tara who first offered her hand to Willow to help magically move the pop-soda machine against the door? Tara branched out, seemingly stepped outside her comfort zone, so to speak, and it was just magical, in more ways than one.

Also, totally pervy, but Restless' dream-sequence where Will's painting Tara's back. Sent shivers down my spine, that's for sure!

Favourite episode for me will always be 'Family'. Love her duet will Giles in 'Once More With Feeling', and her gentle mocking of Spike in 'Older and Far Away' reveals a side of the character that should have been explored more.

I loved Tara! she was so sweet and caring. Amber is a great singer. I guess you could call me a Tara fan! and a tillow fan!🙂

I love Tara! She was so sweet and loving, like a mother to Dawn, great friend ... Her character has also developed much throughout the series. It's so bad that she was killed off in "Seeing red". I was like "And that's it? I want more Tara!" I'd love to see who would she become if she wasn't killed...

My favourite moments of Tara:
*"Family"- especially the first ( I just adore Tara's story) and the last scene
*"Older and and far away" (with Spike)
TARA: How's that cramp, Spike? Still bothering you?
SPIKE: What? Oh. Yeah.
TARA: Maybe you, uh, wanna put some ice on it.

*Seeing Red- when she and Willow come downstairs. She looks so happy🙂

Yeah, Tara was sweet at the very first moment. She was way positive and radiant girl.
My favorite moments of her were in:
  • doing Magic with Willow (any time);
  • in Restless - she was so enigmatic;
  • and I like her alot when she read palm of Willow: What fo you see? - Willow's Palm. (Aw, that was sooo sweet)...

I grieved a lot when she was shot by Warren.

I absolutely love Tara. BUT, I adore her in S6. Not so much in S4-5. Partly just because she was never on the show, and when she was, it was a very small appearance. So anyway, my favorite moments were:

S4: Hush:
When we first see Tara in the Wicca group and that girl asks her if she has something to say, and she just smiles, and ignores her. That was great. Then also in Hush when they hold hands and move the vending machine.
S4: New Moon Rising:
The whole ending when she blows out the candle.

S5: Family:
I think it's kinda obvious.
S5: Checkpoint:
"Magical Proficiency Level?"
"5!"
(I haven't finished S5 yet, so there probably will be some more moments)

S6: Once More, With Feeling:
Tara singing "Under Your Spell" That was beautiful.
S6: Entropy:
"Can you just be kissing me now?"

at first i thought Tara was just ok, but s6, especially from once more with feeling i started to really like her, dare i say it, even a bit more than Oz.

A wonderful moment that sprung to my mind "I'm cured! I like boys!" From OMWF. I wish we had of had the chance to see more of Tara joking around.

I think Tara was probably one of the most real characters on the show, I really have respect for that character for sure.

She showed true, human fear in "Family"-- she wasn't trying to hide a secret to fool anyone, she was just taken advantage of and scared like so many people are everyday.

She fell in love with Willow and was always there for her and the gang ("The Body" sticks out in my mind for this one, how she was there for Buffy even though she was almost the "odd one out", and she was always trying to make Dawn feel that much more included, somehow understanding her situation).

She also knew when to broke it off. I really respected her in "Tabula Rasa" when she did end it with Willow. It's something that a lot of people can't do in relationships, and I've seen a lot of lives go down hill because of it. She recognized that she was in something that wasn't healthy, and that it had to stop before it got anymore out of hand. Even though she loved Willow, she had the courage to leave. And not in the "I hate you I never want to talk to you again and hope you burn in hell b**ch!!" kind of way. She was still always concerned with how she was doing, not hateful just had a grasp on reality.

In my opinion, she's always been one of the most emotionally grown up characters on the show. She was rational and seemed to have this "human connection" to everyone in some way that you couldn't deny. She was the greatest friend: someone who would just listen without judging, who would help you out if you're in need (whether you asked for it or not) and she really had a deep respect for all the people she spent time with. And I think that because of what happened in her relationship with Willow, it really showed a very adult decision that made her perhaps one of the bravest characters on the show. She knew when it was time to leave, and she did it the right way. Without dragging everyone else into it, without all the drama, and not without warning. She gave Willow a chance, Willow blew it, and that was it. She was brave enough to walk away.

I'm a huge Tara fan, think I can also identify with her kind of shy exterior. Without a doubt though, my favourite character of the Buffyverse. 🙂

I really like how you wrote this:) Tara was so great character.
other then the end of entropy I really liked her in Older and Far Away as well, I loved how she just stood up and took charge over anya and xander trying to force willow into doing magic. But then again I also loved family. I really just enjoyed her character all around.

Same here. Her chemistry with Spike is cute. =)
Ok.. I absolutely HATE Tara, I hate her more than Riley, more than Adam, more then them ALL! She was such a whiney a**. She was so timid, she rarely EVER took a stand for herself, she cried alot. She was just such (in my opinion) a stereotypical earthy college lesbian. Tara really didn't have any depth outside of the episode where she thinks she might become a demon. I was always just waiting for Anya to STAB her or something.

I think she RUINED the character of Willow for me in the series.
The Happiest day of my life was when Warren shot her. Unfortunately I had to deal with Willow crying and crying and not getting over it EVER (which hey I get but was SO over about two seasons ago!)

I agree - not a very deep character
I didn't like Tara much... well, I didn't like Amber Benson's acting much, which ruined the character for me. The stuttering, the "earthy"-ness of the character just didn't sit well with me. I loved when she stood up to Willow after finding out about Willow's spell, and I was sad when she got killed, but I really wish they'd have found a better actress.

She was okay I guess, but very boring, underdeveloped, and only seemed to serve Willows story. Which would be okay if she was only a smaller recurring character, but since she was in so many episodes I got bored of her very quick--nothing happened to her, and I don't think she added much to the story besides "Willow is now a lesbian". Again, that's fine, but that seems to be the only purpose of Tara, and the writers didn't even seem to try to give her any depth, outside of "Family" and maybe 1 or 2 other episodes.. All the other major characters had major developments, except for Tara. What gives?

Besides that, I don't think it was very fair that they didn't give Amber Benson a starring credit until her death episode. I disliked her and all, but to have her on the show as practically a main character for 2.5 seasons and not have her in the main credits? I get that they wanted the shock of "hey, she's in the credits finally yay!! but, oh--she died!" and all, but I think I still would have had that moment of shock if she was in the main credits long before her death.

I think Tara is a wonderful character. She's so sweet to the people she cares about. And I love watching her grow from the stuttery girl who was barely able to meet Willow's eyes to the headstrong young woman who flat-out told Willow (without a stutter) that the magick had to stop and who stood up to Anya (Anya- hello ex=vengeance demon!!) in order to defend Willow who had mangled her brain and broken her heart. This whole transformation said great things about Amber's acting abilities. As many people have been saying, Dead Things was a great episode for Tara. Before this, I feel like she's only there because of Willow, but the comforting of Buffy shows that she's there for everyone. She's a part of the show.

Even though this is a thread about Tara herself, I'm going to talk about Under Your Spell. In both of their faces, the love they feel for each other is so apparent and so strong. It's perhaps the sweetest moment on the show. Just the way Willow looks at Tara... it's not Allyson looking at Amber. Both completely and totally become their respective characters in this scene. The love there is palpable. And when Tara finds out what Willow did, the moment is just heartbreaking. I think it really says something that Tara doesn't confront Willow then and there. On the one hand, it could be because she hasn't accepted it herself and is trying to hold on to their relationship. On the other hand, I think it's a distinct possibility that Tara sees how worried about Buffy Willow is and stays for support, even more so upon Willow finding out that Buffy had been in Heaven.

Tara, although not my favorite, is truly a lovely character.

I loved Tara, although I don't normally list her as one of my absolute favorite characters. She didn't really develop that much, which was actually good for her, since we wanted at least ONE character to stay the same.

My favorite Tara episode, although I don't recall the name of it, is when she stands up to Spike. It's in the sixth season. 😛

I love Tara since her first appearance on screen(I kinda knew she would be Willow's girl before I watched BtVS 😛). She's so sweet and caring. I don't care if she didn't develop much. Her sweetness to everyone is great enough as a character. I also like when she's on her own in season 6. And she definitely shouldn't have died. 🙁

My favorite episode is New Moon Rising. Because she's ready to lose Willow because she loved her so much.
