Tattoo - and not the horrible Russian version

I feel like by the time I'm 80, they'll have figured out an easier way to take them off lol...

I've not gotten one yet but been thinking about it for probably 10 years. Waiting to have something that I really want that means something to me. I've decided to get the attached, but just now have to decide to actually get it lol.

For those that have multiple tatoos - which parts of the body does it hurt the worst/least?

Bony parts hurt more than fleshy ones, so get it somewhere where you have a little 'meat!' My first one barely hurt at all, it's on my shoulder above the shoulder blade. The one that hurt the most is on my ankle.
 
The one that hurt me the most is the one in the center of my back. After the outline was done, we took a break (big mistake, endorphins started wearing off) and when he went back to shade it in, it felt as though he was just doing the same part over and over again. That has been the only thing that has deterred me from completing my back piece. Other than that, none of my other ones really bothered me that much. I have one piece on my upper left arm that took 3 sittings to complete and its actually 2 tattoos in one. I have 5 others on my back, 1 on my hand, 1 on my thigh, 2 on my right ankle, 1 on left ankle, and 1 over each breast.

I used to be like "I'm never getting a tattoo cause I will regret it".. well maybe this day will come but for now I've found another way to think about it.. that's why I got a tattoo last August and am getting another one for xmas..

The reason why I decided to do one is because the tattoo I have is related to the amazing summer I spent and to the ppl I was with... memories always stay, but they kind of fade a bit you know, and this tattoo is there to remind me that I was happy (it's the chinese symbol for happiness), that at one point in my life I felt just so amazingly great where I was and with the ppl I was with.. I don't ever want to forget that... and having this tattoo done in NY the day of my departure was just like the closing thing... just perfect.. and I don't think I will ever regret it...
same for the one I'm gonna get soon... I've never met friends like the ones I met here and one of them was like I want another tattoo, then we were like let's do it together it'll be our memory (prolly gonna get faith's tattoo but on my other ankle)...

lol, that was my giving you a reason why you would want a tattoo... 😀

Exactly the same reason I feel I have to get the one I'm thinking of gettin. Cause come what may the feeling, the memory will always be there and its intense enough for me to wanting to remember it for the rest of my life.
 
Yeah, you know I'm trying to imagine a circumstance where I'd ever consider getting one. A lot of people do it to express "individuality" or whatever.

The more I think about it, the more it seems like it would have to be more outward-looking. Less "me" driven. Maybe a commemoration of a child's birth, or a tattoo of solidarity with close friends. Like war vets who'd get the same tattoo as as sign of loyalty, comaraderie.

Of course, I'd still want to be the designer, whatever it was...

A couple of mine are like that, too. I got them at times when I was with special friends and they also got tattoos at the same time, kind of a "remembrance" thing for all of us.
