WHY was Spike so mean to Harmony, all she wanted to do was go to France, i mean she is a major part in the Buffy Storyline, then into the Angel one.

I just dont get it, she was awsome and kicked Rileys ass in season 5?
 
Well for one thing Harmony being an important character in the Buffyverse would have nothing to do with why Spike was mean to her.

And Spike was mean to her because he didn't really like her, He was just useing her for sex. But she believed they were in a real relationship, and wanted to do relatioship things.
 
Harmony was hugely funny when she was onscreen, but even her time on Angel, I wouldn't say she constitutes the line 'she is a major part in the Buffy Storyline'.

Like BEG said, Spike really didn't care for Harmony, she was simply a pretty young thing that he could use for sex.
 
I think it's a good point to bring up. Harmony IS shallow, without any real loyalty to anyone - remember her social climbing ways in Sunnydale High School. She projects the image throughout eight seasons of Buffy-Angel of a superficial lightweight. But still, I was bothered by the way Spike treats her in Seasons 4 and 5. To me the scene often looked like a woman in a self-abasing, abusive relationship.

I never thought much about Spike and Harmony, it was funny.. She could be annoying, though, I couldn't tolerate that. I guess he got his karmic reward when Buffy did to him what he did to Harm.

I wouldn't say I find Harmony annoying. She's definitely much more interesting and funny than annoying!

And I do admire Mercedes McNab's acting. I think it's harder than one might imagine to play a character like Harmony and be so good at it. I love this dialogue from S5 "Crush":

Harmony: Who is - oh, wait. I get it. Our little sex game was just the beginning. Now you've gone and picked up some cheap queen of the damned to dress up like your precious Drood-zilla.
Spike: Harm.
Harmony: You'd better not be thinking what I think you're thinking. 'Cause my answer is the same as always. No threesomes unless it's boy, boy, (indicates herself) girl. Or Charlize Theron.
Spike: Harm, you moron, this IS Drusilla.

BTW I think Juliet Landau aka Drusilla was fine too.
 
I wouldn't say she was an important part of the Buffy storyline, more of an annoyance. She had a part to play in Angel yes but in Buffy not that major.
 
oh yeah lol, she always brings Drusilla into it lol

But, i reckon if we didnt have Harmony as a vamp, just think the story lines would be crappy, coz the whole "Crush" episode rocked and can i say Harmony kicked Spikes ass.......but if he just had Dru and Buffy it would be kinda weird.
 
harmony was a fun character but i think that she wasnt that cool.. she was simply okay =). and she is not better than darla!! thats impossible for harmony.. maybe faith or buffy are better than darla but not harmony! like ladybug said shut up ( in a good way of course ). =)

Everytime I look at this, it just...gah:confused2

Its like saying I love shorts, they're much better than hats. Other than being items of clothing, they have no connection.

Or do theY?!
 
Spike was a jerk to Harmony because that's who he is at that point in the story arc. Of course Spike wouldn't want to tolerate her, he is smart and quite short tempered.

Harmony rose above it though, as we all saw after she left Buffy and went to Angel. She needed to go through it so that she could come out more confident and not allow herself to be used quite as horribly anymore.

It's all about Character Development. 😉
