In both episodes Buf gets knocked out for awhile fairly easily. When Ted kicks her in the face and when Cordy hits her with something in the science lab. Both allow for simpler plot progression but i don't think she would get knocked out so easily she's supposed to be all super human and im sure vamps hit harder than cordy so what gives? joss being lazy? any thoughts?

I don´t really give a thought on that kind of subject... it happens to often to care. People getting knocked out too easily and then surviving the apocalypse xD

Besides.... I hate those two episodes so I just watched them once. 😀

I always took it to mean that since Ted was a robot he had kind of superstrength, and the same for Cordy as she was under the thrall of the demon egg baby thing... I did think it was a tad bit weird that Buffy was knocked out so easily, since she's supposed to be so strong, but I just chalked it up to them having a bit more strength than your average Joe.

This happened quite a bit in the early seasons, come to think of it - Ethan knocked her out easily enough in the 'Dark Age' as well, and Candy in 'Homecoming'. I guess it was just convenient for plot purposes, and the writers weren't too concerned about how plausible it was. Can't think of any instances of her getting knocked out so easily after season 3 though, so maybe they realised it was a bit silly and decided to stop doing it?
