Teen Wolf?

Do you guys think the show Teen Wolf is similar to what Buffy was? Just curious because I keep hearing how much the show is like Buffy from people who watch it...I'm not sure, actually never seen an episode. Anybody can tell me if it's true?
 
I love Teen Wolf and sure I can see some connections (mostly because of my own Buffy associations).
Season one I remember reminded me of Btvs but it was more of a feeling than anything in the actual show I think... it's not exactly a "high-school is hell" premise but the supernatural teen/h.s. setting certainly brings back memories. Also they do have very witty dialogue. 🙂

The supernatural elements can remind me of Buffy a bit, but also other supernatural themed shows, so I think that more has to do with how familiar you are with that kind of TV than Teen Wolf itself.

I would recommend Teen Wolf to Buffy fans though. It's a great show with an excellent 12 episode set up and it moves quickly and thrillingly more or less throughout.
 
What makes Teen Wolf similar to Buffy is that it's a show with its own mythology that has nuances that can be discussed and debated. Not everything on the show is black and white.

I think that Teen Wolf fans would enjoy Buffy.
I watched Teen Wolf before I started Buffy and I think that watching Teen Wolf helped me appreciate the genre better (I don't think I would've took interest in BtVS if it wasn't for it, and before I watched it, I was into badly written teen dramas like The O.C and Gossip Girl…)
 
I watched season 1 and 2 and was not impressed. I didnt see much in common with Buffy besides it being a teen show with supernatural elements.
 
Never seen it. The film was a bit rubbish and I don't really think there's a lot which they can develop within the confines of a TV show so I have little interest in seeing it.

Other than the title, the series has nothing whatsoever in common with the movie, other than both feature teenagers who happen to be werewolves. I watched the first couple of seasons, and they were pretty good. I can't remember, at the moment, why I stopped watching, but it had nothing to do with the quality of the show.

Fair enough. It just doesn't seem like my sort of show. It just seems to be rehashing the old cliché about teenager angst being linked supernatural beings and seems more concerned with showing off the sex appeal of the lead characters than doing anything original or that exciting.

That's pretty much it, yeah.

Now I remember why I quit watching it.
 
I've started to watch Teen Wolf purely because it was a Jeff Davis show.
I think it's a good teen show, that can appeal to adults if you're not too exigent. Some characters are interesting, not too bad interpreted, there's a huge amount of nice comic relief, and it has its own mythology.
However, I feel like the show always looses something as the seasons go through. It's always the same thing: a good beginning, an arc that seems thrilling, some good plots and poof, suddenly, it gets confusing and stuff are half solved and way too quickly. I hope it gets better. But I still find it interesting and I'll keep watching.
And I agree with what has been said before, 70% of the male actors were cast purely on looks. And their wardrobes merely consist of pants, shirts don't seem to be in around Beacon Hill.
