Teenage Fashion

My fashion sense as a teenager: jeans and a t-shirt
My fashion sense as a 34 year old: jeans and a t-shirt

Not understanding fashion is bisexual culture.

But even I feel bad for Tara for that dress they put her in for Once More With Feeling.

I agree, the fashion was normal and what teenage girls choose to wear, usually in spite of what they told to wear. There are real perverts in television shows with minors. Joss wasn't one of them.

Oh yes, it was her Ren Faire outfit. If that corset was laced even remotely properly, it would have been a completely uncomfortable bitca to wear. Never mind singing; she would have struggled to breathe.

I was more commenting on how it looked on her than how it must've felt. Amber Benson is/was an attractive woman and they put her in the most unflattering thing they could find.

The only place Tara was allowed to look good was in Restless in the back of the van with Willow. That's where you saw the real Amber Benson. In every other episode, she was made to look as dowdy as possible.

A twofer for both unflattering and uncomfortable!

By design, probably; Tara was supposed to be the shy, quiet one. Even looking like that, she said she got a lot of fans.

I just figured it was part of a Wiccan fashion thing. Very middle ages.

I agree, and guess what.....
My fashion sense as an old fart: still jeans and a t-shirt.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.!

Tara was supposed to be going for some kind of Hippie witch look, which she did pull off well.

@whatdBuffyDo Yes, some of what she wore was nice, but some... well, it was like she was experimenting with her clothing like her hairstyles. 😀

The trousers, top and zip up waistcoat at the beginning of Pangs was one, especially the, apparently Gucci, trousers. Although I do like the trousers, top and waistcoat idea as an outfit, just not like that! Then there was the top at the beginning of Hush. Neck-high, full sleeve and backless; it looks like it would manage to be a combination of too warm and too cold at the same time!

Hahaha I see it yeah, she was newly human and adjusting after all 😂

I always felt bad for Tara for most of her clothes. Willow also. Maxi dresses were a thing, but, no young woman wore them as much as Tara and Willow. Tara's initial hoodie and jeans was much more prevalent.

I have known more than a few witches throughout my life. The only time they wore BTVS type of "Witchy" clothing was when they were "on the clock" at a festival or seeing a paying client.

I wear maxi dresses and skirts all the time because they are much comfier than jeanss 🤭
Tabula Rasa, Dawn having a necklace with her own name on it. I can't remember anyone having a necklace with their own name on it, parents having a child's name or grandchild name sure, but their own?

When I worked in the Middle East I bought my wife and daughters gold name necklaces with their own names in arabic. 😎

I did know a girl who had her nickname - Luc, pronounced "Luce" - (why she didn't have the full Lucy which was only one more letter, I don't know) on a necklace.

It still astounds me that AB was considered 'big'. They didn't know how to dress her at times, making her look frumpy.

@NotASlayer AB is absolutely gorgeous! (And definitely not big!)
