Surely you have to be old enough to vote before you can think about running for a political position

The candidate for people tired of "politics as usual."
Good gods, that has reality show written all over it (if he wins). Which is just as well, since being a celebrity is more important than things like knowledge of the law or international politics or even geography.
Come to think of it, many would rather vote for someone they feel they could have a beer with rather than someone with such a position of responsibility. Are they willing to have a beer with a 13-year-old? 😛
(Just for the record, I'd be more worried about him than Vermont were he to win.)

Just goes to show that anyone can put in for just about anything these days, doesn't it?
What's he going to be like if he gets told no to some changes he wants to make? Imagine when he goes through his party and rebellious phase. Be made a law that everyone must be drunk at least 5 times a week and phone in sick to work at least 4 lol.

"Um, he's in his room with the latest Sports Illustrated. He said he didn't want to be disturbed. He might be a while, y'know, 14 year old and all."
"Right. How long?"
"Well, the cover model was Brooklyn Decker..."
"Jesus, put some coffee on then."

Vermont and Kansas are the only two states without a law specifying an age minimum to run for governor. Kansas has a 16 year old and possibly a 17 year old running, I believe.
Doubt any will win as current governors are up for reelection (statistically they will win easy) as well as a couple other adults already in the field with experience. But I bet the teens will learn a lot from this, so that's cool.

The minimum age requirement for candidacy stipulates voting age, which would be 18, though I can't really imagine anyone much under age 30 getting enough votes to take office.
