This book was written by Yvonne Navarro.
The concept of the book, I think is fantastic! It takes place in season 5 shortly after Joyce has died. Anya is questioning her mortality and is confronted by D'Hoffryn to become a demon again, but that's only part of the story. The main focus is on a new vampire that comes into town and it turns out this vampire was originally a vampire slayer. The book actually gives you the fight scene that made her a vampire and surprisingly she chose to join the dark side. I like the book as well because Angel has a guest appearance.
The things I'm not too fond off are some of the characters, Spike and Anya arent the same as on the show. Also before Buffy goes to fight this vampire, her and Angel talk, and Buffy asks him to stake her if Celina (the vampire) happens to turn her. She gives Angel a speach about her nightmare in the episode Nightmares in season 1 and says she definately could not stand becoming a vampire. Yet when she is fighting Celina and Celina offers to turn her Buffy is tempted and the reason she is tempted is because she wants to be with Angel. I'm a bangel and even I dont like that logic 🙂
