(For those who follow the series and look forward to the upcoming movie)

Is the tv series is canon, won't that mean that Summer Glau will have to have at least a bit part or some mention in the movie? In one of the episodes, she is referred to as something like "following (future) John around wherever he goes." That would seem to indicate that Cameron survives up to about the time that the revolution gets well underway.
 
I don't know. I haven't seen many of the recent Terminators, but one thing that occurs to me after all these sequels is just how dumb these things in the future trying to kill young John Conner must be. They've sent all these machines back to kill him at different points in his life....why not just send them all to one time period so there are like 8 terminators out to kill him? Seems like it would be a little different for him to escape the wrath of a bunch of different Terminators.

That seems to be pretty close to what they did in the series, plus several humans, including at least one who just seemed to go back in time in order to escape the violence. That's why I'm wondering if the series is actually supposed to be canon with the movies, or some sort of parallel reality the way the "Highlander" movies and series were.
 
I really haven't paid much attention but as far as I know the series and new movies won't have anything to do with each other (as such). So I'm not countning on any T:TSCC references at all. But hopefully someone that has looked into it will come along and clear things up.
 
The series is set in an alternate timeline, so it's a seperate story from the movies , yet still canon if you know what i mean. (At least, that's what i think it is)

Also, "Rise of the Machines" is the name of the horribly awful third movie. "Salvation" is the new movie.

EDIT: @ Revolver, it's been a while since i seen the movies, but didn't they explain that they only had enough power/technology to send one machine through at a time and would take ages before they could send another through?

But even if you can only send one through at a time, couldn't you send the next one to the same time period you sent the first one (ie - In 2020, I sent one back to 1989, then in 2025, I send another one back to 1989?).

Yes true. I didn't know that's what you meant in your first post, and have never thought of that.

*steals Revolver's idea to use for new time travel robot film*
