Terminator Scc

Well, I'm not sure I understood the finale. I plan to watch it again.

But, I DID notice something interesting!

I keep the closed captioning on the TV on. I'm usually working or 15 other things and it's just easier to pop my head up when I hear something weird and be able to read it than to or miss it or rewind.
(That and Giles kind of mumbles sometimes)

And on the finale, there were a LOT more things in the closed captioning that were NOT actually said during the show. I went back and watched the end to be sure. Like when John pulls up the picture at the end, Sarah says it was Sarkissian that Derek killed in the alley and when the picture pops up in the closed captioning John says, "It's that Cashier" and Sarah says, "What?"

There were a couple of other ones, but I'd have to rewatch the 2 hours to pick them out. But, it was GOOD that I had it on because I'm not sure I'd have even recognized that guy. Without the captioning, I'd have been sitting there going, "Huh?"
I'm not sure why they would do that. It's like the stuff they cut out of the script, but kept it there for the hearing impaired and those of us who hear fine, but are just weird and not bothered by words all over their screens.
 
Well, at least we know now what she was doing saving all of those memory chips, and we know that Summer has a date for the prom.
 
AUGH! I realized at 10:15 last night that I had COMPLETELY MISSED the finale!! I'm very upset right now. Stupid German test taking up my brain space.

Probably a better idea. After I wrote it and was marveling over the idea of it actually LASTING this long on the VCR (most things are gone almost immediately) it hit me that I don't think I got the first minute. Which isn't a huge deal for normal people, but would bug the CRAP out of me to put on a DVD and send it out if I didn't have it ALL.

I wouldn't consider that show a season ender. The original order was for 22 episodes then FOX, in their usual wisdom, cut it to 13. Then the writers strike happened and the season was cut short to 9 with the creator of the show thinking ok I will finish the 4 to fill the order for 13 when the strike ends but again FOX suits said nah 9 is fine.
I thought the 2 shows were good. The series was starting to take on it's own story after doing so many episodes that mirrored the movies. The FBI agent is now converted, Derek has some really dark moments (couldn't believe he wanted to kill the two cops), John is really starting to "think" like the machines, Cameron is still hiding a HUGE secret, there is another faction (Sarkasian) coming out of the shadows and is it a group for profit or to fulfill the prophecy, and Sarah is really fighting her conscious of humanity vs mission.
Hope we get a season 2 the show is starting to become very interesting and the cast is starting to feel comfortable with each other.
 
I definitely gotta watch the last 2 eps again. I thought they were solid. Not exactly the best of the season, but whatever.

I liked the "birthday present" Derek gave to John, in the park. That was a nice, surprising moment.

It is still hard to tell how much Cameron is ultimately withholding from everybody. I like that she got asked out to the prom.

The big swimming pool massacre didn't feel very Terminator-like...the movies were always so explcit, up front with everything. But it was an interesting way to present things. And Johnny Cash as the soundtrack...

Why did Cromartie not waste Agent Ellison? Is he gonna be important to Skynet for some reason?

The FBI fight scene and the bodies flying into the pool was like you said GB not Terminator standard. But it really gave the show it's own personality from the movies. What really got me was not the sequence of events but the Johnny Cash song then an immediate monologue from Sarah quoting from The Lord of the Flies. What a contrast of song vs word that emphasized death (the song) and loss of innocence (the word) without an eye popping action scene. That was THE scene of the show for me!
I thought the same about Ellison as well, why was he spared? I think it was so Cromartie could follow him to Sarah and John. Call it Terminator motivation.

FOX never ordered 22 episodes. The showrunner planned 22 because I think he assumed they'd be a fall show but didn't FOX say it would launch at midseason in May upfronts?
 
Love the show... I felt that it kind of slowed down towards the end of the 'season'... I hope it gets renewed...

And I know this is kind of delayed, but I'm pretty sure that the memory chip that Cameron pocketed was because she lives with the knowledge that once she has completed her mission (keeping John and Sarah alive) she pretty much ceases to exist... and the fact that the removal of said chip is the only real way to kill a terminator... It's the writer's way of making her more real... Because she is dealing with her inevitable 'death'...

And the look she had when she took it is probably because she is supposed to follow all orders and be incapable of lying, but she lied to Sarah saying that she destroyed the whole terminator... Which also gives her a human quality...

Sorry you are correct. He planned 22 got a 13 episode order so he corrected his plan from 22 to 13 but the strike shortened it to 9.
 
Read this in last weeks tv guide in Canada

While Fox still hasn’t made an announcements regarding its show renewals, one of Ausiello’s many sources has revealed that Terminator: The Sarah Chronicles will be back.

According to the source, Terminator is preparing for production on a second season and that the show’s execs have been told to start booking directors for the first few episodes of next season.

However, Fox has still made no official announcement regarding the show’s future.


Now this is good news!!!!
