Terrorist Attacks on London

I'm completely shocked by them. Course my sympathy goes out to those affected by it.

It's so strange to realise, I've been at most of these places. I bought HP5 at King's Cross station. During my stay in London 2 years ago, my hotel was 100m away from King's Cross. It's really a terrifying thought.

The world's getting to be a worse and worse place to live in everyday it seems.
 
Do we have any members in London? And if we do: ARE Y'ALL OK???

But I can't seem to walk away from the radio this morning, because maybe if I keep listening it won't have happened. I still can't wrap my head around this much violence in the world.
 
My thoughts and prayers go out to our UK members, especially any in London...

People, just remember, in the aftermath of this outrage you are gonna hear a lot of stuff about why. People will use the incidents to put forward their agendas, be it anti-war, freedom, fighting oppression, etc. The only reason why is that some number of ethically challenged, psychopathic monsters decided that they couldn't persuade people to side with them and give them control, so they killed some people to try to make people comply. The terrorists want control of YOU, to make YOU do what they want you to, for fear of your life. Feel anger. Feel sorrow. Even feel fear, but NEVER give them control by letting fear change who you are.

I hope all our London people are okay. This is just horrible. I suppose we all knew it was coming but still It's so horrible. Everyone take care and hug your family soon.
 
My mother and her boyfriend live just outside of London, and her bf is part of MI5 so he works right next to the houses of parliment. I called my mother this morning at about 10:30, she and her bf were fine but I got an idea of the death toll before the BBC from him, it was 20 when I called but it is now 4:15pm and the BBC has clocked it at 33 now.

From the BBC website:

"There were seven confirmed deaths after a blast at 0851 BST 100 yards into a tunnel from Liverpool Street station. The train was either a Central Line or Circle Line train.

And at 0917 BST an explosion on a train coming into Edgware Road underground station blew a hole through a wall onto another train in an adjoining platform.

Three trains were thought to be involved and there were five confirmed deaths so far, Mr Paddick said.

He said it was not yet known how many died in the bus blast at 0947 at the junction of Upper Woburn Square and Tavistock Place.

Some 300 more people were treated for minor injuries including lacerations and smoke inhalation, LAS assistant chief officer Russell Smith added."

Yea... I'm still shocked.. pretty much, and I'm far far away from London and don't think I know anyone who is there but.. I can't take this sort of stuff so I don't know what to write.. But, obviously I just think about the people in London...
 
If I had my way I would have still been in London this week. I spent the morning trying to get a hold of all my friends down there. Luckily they are ok, one had a very lucky escape. He slept in for work and as a result missed one of the blasts that was on his journey.

We even had a phone call from my aunt who thought I was still in London. I hope that everyone gets in touch with their family and friends and that they are fine. Still pretty much in shock right now.

This news is so terribe, we had such great news here in the uk yesterday, getting the olympics and then today it just all got ruined, I was so shocked and haven't left the radio all day, even the tecahers in my college were listening to the rado in lesson, wha is the world coming to!!!!!!!!
 
I was so shocked, I work not to far away from where the bus exploded.

It is totally devastating, and when I heard another one happened in Edgware Road I started panicking as my boyfriend lives near there and uses that stattion, but thankfully he is ok and unhurt. I think the worst part was the mobile networks going down as so many people were using them. My dad works in and around Charing Cross and I couldn't get through to him at all from 9am throught to 12 when he phoned me.

I hope the rest of our London memebers are well and safe.
 
I was so shocked when I first heard, still am. Thinking about all of them involved in some way..
 
There has also been a suspicious package found on a bus in Princes Street (Edinburgh). Police have blocked the street and bomb squad is attempting to remove the package and do controlled explosions.

Just caught the tail end of this on the news.
 
you've got to remember that everyones pretty shocked at the moment so every possibility is to be taken seriousely. just because theres a controlled explosion dosent mean there was ever a terrorist threat there.

its easy with the news interviewing people going "oooh have you seen blood have you seen gore?" to anyone they can find to get panicked.

this is not the first attack nor the worst attack on British soil, we've got through worse and we'll get through this. no matter what anyone or the government tried to tell you, you cant be scared to do things because theres a possibility of being exploded.

these people hate our way of life so you cant change out of fear.

Yes I know that, I was simply saying what was reported on the news. Because of what happened they have stepped up the security, especially with the large amount of protestors in Edinburgh and the trouble that was going on earlier in the week up here.

When something like this happens people get paranoid about everything and you can't blame them but its human nature. We can't really stop things like this happening, its how we deal with them that matters. And this incident has not stopped me from moving to London this year as I had planned before this happened.
 
I think its absolutely horrible what happened and my heart goes out to all in London. I am going to kep my opinions to myself about the terrorist activity that occurs all over the world. I dont think that any amount of words will change the fact that no matter how we live, there will always be someone out there that thinks violence is the answer to get their point across, or to instill fear.

Normally I would say that this isn't the kinda thing that you should joke about. But in times like these you need some relief to balance out all the bad stuff. You do get points for making me laugh though 🙂
 
i've heard from people actually in london joking about it, hell there was even a bloke on the news who was blown in to the air by the bus and got a nasty bump on the head and he just got up and laughed it off.

joking is good, putting 'panic on the streets of london' by the smiths is probabley taking it too far however 😛

glad i cheered you up some 😉
 
hell I didn't know till i read this yesterday and i know my jaw dropped, after i read it i started worrying about some of my friends in london luckily they were all ok and none of them were hurt or nothing, Hell nor were anywhere near there thanks to being lazy
 
I just hate terrorists. :/

The world is getting weirder, you know what, if thing like that are going to happen every year, we're getting to use to it. I am already.

One good thing about Finland: so small country, that there's not happening thing like that.. Expect last year but it wasn't that bad or it wasn't by terrorists.

World is really going weirder everyday. I don't want that. .__.
 
i was so shocked when i saw the news yesterday morning.
i've never been to london, but it is the capital city of my country. i was devestated by the amount of damage done.
but i have to say that i am very proud of how londoner's picked themselves up and returned to work today, showing whoever did this that they cannot defeat london.
today, i am proud to call myself british!
