TESLA MOTORS

Seems like a positive development, no?
I think it's very cool...shows some true potential if nothing else. And it's a pretty frelling good-looking vehicle, I must say. The only negative I could see is taking a longer trip with a car like that.
I'm wondering how much you could recharge the thing if you were only pulled over for, say, 20 minutes. A trip of 300 or so miles might require you to, at the very least, stop at a restaurant for an hour and a half.

Pretty impressive! That's quite cool, plus is a really nice looking machine, but yeah you are right there are still a few problems with it!

Hybrid and electric cars are good for the environment but what we don't hear about is the maintenance costs. These cars need to go to the dealer for service not to Joe down on the corner you have gone to for years. What are dealer hourly repair rates? Oh and how much are the parts? How often do the batteries need to be changed and at what cost?
For example wind generators for your home. The initial cost to set up a wind generator for your house is $40,000. That's right $40 Grand! And the batteries need to be replaced every 8 years or so. So doing the math you spend $5 grand a year for your electricity. Sooo how much do you pay your local utility company?
Don't get me wrong I believe in clean air, save the environment, hug a tree but don't make me pay a fortune which is still more then the price of a litre/gallon of gas.

Teentitan, alot of normal cars are requring owners to get repairs only at their own garages now.

I think its a great idea but they wont start making them cheap to use for a while, not while so many people can make so much money from petrol...
