I've been watching Glee Cast on Oprah, and they were answering questions asked by fans, and their answers were really good and touching.
There are a lot of greatfull jobs out there. Doctors, cops, lawyers.. that are all important jobs, about saving people lives, and those people are really important for society. Because we can't live without them, their job is important. But in my opinion, acting is a greatfull job too. People are not aware of how one tv show can change someones life. How one actor with great character can change people with just one line. Because if people are dead inside, that's like they're dead from the outside. When you're physically dead, that's that. But, when you're dead from the inside, you have to live with that. And then, someone jumps in. But sometimes, that someone, your friends or mother, really can't help you, or can't understand you, and when you think there's no way out, you watch new episode of your favourite show. No, things don't magically get better, but you sure cheer up and figure out some things.
So thank you, tv shows. Because most of the time, you make my day. And every one of you has important masseage to share with the world.
What are your oppinions. Did any of this wonderful tv shows ever changed your world?

When i watch Buffy it always gives me a warm feeling inside. It lightens up my mood and can effect me in a number of different ways. So i guess i have to thank Joss and everyone associated with the show because watching Buffy is a pleasure that never goes away. :smile3:

Buffy has definitely helped me through numerous sad and tough times, especially lately, as I'm finding my friends have less and less time for me. When I first started working this totally lame job, I got in a slump and felt I didn't have anything to look forward to outside of school and work. After my first paycheck, I bought the entire Buffy DVD collection. Being able to go home and watch the series after a stressful day always put me in a good mood and motivated me to work harder. Television is dependable, for the most part. Unless your favorite shows get cancelled. =/

Then we can enjoy rewatching them. If show is good for the first time, then it's good second and third time. 😀

It's weird that isn't it?
Whenever i'm feeling down or sick i always watch Buffy. It does make the day seem so much better.

I'm with Tasha. There were so many bad days for me this past year. I just went home and watched some Buffy episodes and I felt much much better, from wanting to cry to normal again. 🙂

I have always enjoyed movies and television, but only recently discovered that some tv shows are somewhat more satisfying than most movies. This is probably because when a movies ends after and hour and a half, that's it, you're done. Sitcoms allow you to see more of that character that you for some reason relate to, which is nice.
Buffy is definitely one of those shows. Another one for me is Dexter. Sure, he's a serial killer, but I just can't help but like the guy!

Same. I used to be a movies freak till I discovered Buffy and TV shows.
Man, I'd be screwed if I needed to watch Buffy after a sad day because my VERY favorite episodes are the ones that make me cry 😛

Its simple if your sad put a funny Buffy episode on like "Band Candy" or anything from season 4 that involves Spike. :biggrin3:

On the other hand sometimes i find myself in moods where i like to feel emotion and Buffy can offer you that aswell. An episode like "Becoming part 2" for instance.

That's why Buffy is such a great show because no matter what mood you are in it can brighten up your day/night.

I have an OCD thing about watching episodes out of order, but I guess if I was going for the comedy value, I'd watch The Girl in Question about a thousand times over 😉

snap i cant watch episodes out of order, unless its halloween or christmas episodes.
I don't know why I'm like this, but I have only cried once during a movie or television show. It was Mufasa's death. And I was 5. It's not that I can't get emotionally wrapped up in the story or the characters (because, believe me, haha, I do), but I'm just not easily moved to tears about this sort of stuff. Now, in real life, with real people confrontation, oh, I cry like a baby at anything! So, I don't think it has nothing to do with me being insensitive.

It's quite funny, though, when my family and I are watching something sad and I'm just coasting emotionally when I look around at my dad. He will cry at a Kodak commercial! Heck, he cried at the end of X-Men 2! He may think I'm a heartless monster, but hey, I can't help it if the dramatics before my face don't trigger my lip-quiver nerve!

I will say though, that I have come CLOSE to crying while watching certain things, (Like at the ending of In America, or I guess in Buffy's case, towards the end of Passions) but I've never fully let go.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to movies or whatever that might make me cry? I'd LOVE to give them a go! Haha!

I still cry when Mufasa dies. My brother watches that cartoon, so I sometimes join him :P
Well, that's why I love Buffy/Angel so much.

I used to think it was, like, lame to cry at movies/shows because they weren't real.

Then I watched Buffy/Angel and I cried a lot. I was so impressed that Joss could make me, of all people, cry that it's made me love his work that much more, lol.

BuffyHead agrees: the notebook, beaches, marley and me, big fish, rent

Seen The Notebook and Rent. Oh, see, I HATE movies about animals (dogs in particular). They are always sad! It hurts so much because I can't cry, but I'm still very very sad! Oh, man, My Dog Skip? That movie was incredibly sad!

Haha well, beaches kills me. Rent doesn't affect me anymore but it does. Lot of people!! Buffy makes me cry often haha.

Did any of this wonderful tv shows ever changed your world?

I wouldn't say change my world but changing my mood (although most effective is my favourite stand up performances) or making me distracted from bad thoughts most definitely.

agree, i dont go to a tv show to change my mood, if i need uplifted i go to stand up
Ah this reminds me. You know what tv show always made me happy? Whose Line is it Anyway! Why on Earth was that show can canceled? It was ten times better than 95% of all reality shows on nowadays. I loved Colin Mochrie!
