I just re-watched Chosen because I could... and I'm looking for a way to describe how I feel. I feel this way every time I watch it... So full of life and empowered... and full of hope. I feel like anything is possible. My heart is filled with love. The only way I've been able to describe it is by the episode... I feel so "Chosen." I want to describe it to my mom though, and she's never seen Buffy.

Do you know this feeling? And if so, how have you been able to describe it?

Interesting!

I actually feel a bit sad, but I get what your are saying 100%. I think it starts in the episode prior, when the First visits Buffy in the basement and Buffy says "I think we're going to win." From then on, Buffy is on the biggest quest of her life, perhaps the biggest quest in the history of mankind... she knows she's going to do it, and she does!

I think Chosen is sad for me because during the prior 5 months I fell completely in love with BtVS. I was sad knowing it was over, and that I would never be fascinated by BtVS ever again.

I'm going to watch again, and try and leave the sadness behind. I have a feeling I will see exactly what you see. 😉

The First coming to the basement and Buffy realizing she's going to win is in Chosen

I always feel kind of sad. Cause it's all over.

The first time I watched it I cried all day long. The second time, it was more bitter sweet... but I was still really sad. It took me several times before I was able to leave the sadness behind. But now, it's just so beautiful. I wish everyone could feel this way all the time everywhere.

BTW, I asked my son, and he said "No, it can't be happy because of Anya." And I love the scene where the Scoobies are alone for the last time as a group.

But it is pretty amazing to see a group of people so determined to win, and they do it. I will give it another watch.

You're right... End of Days has the greatest Spuffy moment (IMHO), while Chosen has that great epiphany by Buffy.

That's rather beautiful, you know. I completely understand where you're coming from.

There's a certain pride and hope that I've never experienced with anything else before, especially pride for women. There's a sadness that the show is ending, but you can't help but feel calm and content because of the way the show ended. I feel a lot of gratitude towards Joss because of that fact.

EXACTLY! There's this certain bit of pride and hope I've never experienced with anything else, and I'm not sure I could

First time watching it, I felt nothing but sadness, but I know what you mean. About the feeling that anything is possible, I have that feeling while Buffy is giving her speech in Chosen.

Yes. I get the feeling. Even if I know - and understand - the "yeah, but"s about the choosing/forcing, I still get that feeling. Particularly when watching the young girl with the baseball bat. I love that moment.

I totally get what you all are saying. I think this show is inspirational on a whole other level (at least that I've ever experienced before)...I am so grateful to have watched it myself and now to be able to watch it with my almost 12 year old daughters. girl power indeed!

I didn't really until I heard the score for the final battle and then re-watched the entire episode. It was quite inspirational, though I admit I found it a bit too cheesy for my liking.

Chosen always give me the chills, every single time. When Willow's spell works and we see Buffy's speech and women all over the world becoming Slayers, well Willow is linked to them all.
Even tough it's just a fiction, it really touches me. It makes me feel as connected to the world. I feel connected to every woman on earth, I feel connected to every fan of Buffy that as the chance to have such an empowering show in their life, I feel connected to all the people in the world that can't stand up but will stand up. I feel like everybody is strong in his own way and wish that they knew it, that everybody knew his strenght. Everything seems full of hope, if you have faith in people and in yourself.

And when Buffy is on the ground, wounded, and the First comes to tease her but she stands up and keeps fighting, refusing to give up, it just fills me with courage when I need some.

That episode makes me feel like I matter, like we all do. It makes me feel strong, and connected. Peaceful.
Then I feel grateful because Joss made such a great show.

Then I think that's it's a bit crazy how emotionnaly overwhelmed that episode makes me 😀

I like that "That episode makes me feel like I matter, like we all do. It makes me feel strong, and connected. Peaceful." That's so it. This post is so it
I mostly feel depressed. I feel that throughout the whole season, them the climax. I don't want it to be over and it always does. So I have sort of love-hate relationship with this episode.

For people who are fans of the show, I don't think you can describe the feeling except to say that it leaves you feeling a swell of emotion.

Couldn't have said it better. Won't say what I was going to say now because you said this. Haha. :)
From the moment Buffy says "I want you to get out of my face," to the First and that dramatic music hits to when Spike's amulet goes off, I'm always filled with goosebumps. You don't see anyone Buffy, Faith, random girls, Vi, Kennedy taking a hit. They are just wiping out this "primal" force of vampires and not even breaking a sweat.

I think you've captured what is so special about Buffy; how it makes people feel. The show touches people, it resonates - and that's why it's so powerful.

Ill admit that I always tear up in that final scene when Willow gives the girls the power. Also, the last scene with Buffy and Spike, of course. That scene is so beautiful. They look into each other's eyes and for a moment, the world stops crumbling around them...and when their hands clasp and ignite in flame...it's that kind of romance that makes me go a big rubbery one, lol.

Of course, Spike's response always enrages me and I always want to punch him.

As someone who was actually really disappointed the first time i watched it..as i always liked that there was a 'chosen one' rewatching it last night for the 10th time i realised how amazing and inspiring this episode is. I love how it shows them all pushing their boundries, and i love the way they go back to the core four moment..even getting rid of her sister for the moment so we can have the originals have that lovely moment 🙂

The only thing i found myself doing was thinkin 'run back and pull that stubborn vampire out of there!' lol

It was a perfect ending 🙂 it rounded everything up neatly i think and gave everyone a fresh start
