in the buffy movie there was a scene where all those vampires attacked the prom. when they start attacking Buffy goes, "don't worry they can't come in unless they're invited." and then her friend comes over and goes, "I already invited them in...they're seniors!"

and then in Passion it was implied that the only reason Angel got in the school was because of the sign on the front that says "enter all who seek knowledge."

but there are tons of vampires who got into the school without reading the sign, like the vampires running in after Cordelia, Jenny and Willow in Prophecy Girl.

what's up with that?
 
Yeh, but we must remember that Joss changed alot of things from the Movie to the Show. Vampires could just fly out of their graves in the movie, and Buffy was waaaaay more of a ditz. Also, she doesn't get cramps when a vamp is near in the TV show...damned menstrual pains...
 
I dont think that the Vamps needed to read the sign in order to be invited in...I just think its like...takes the barrier down for Vamps...

Besides...I thought that Vampires didnt need invitations to public areas, like when Angel goes into the Hospital in 'Killed by Death'

I just think the lack of continuity on this issue just deals with changes Joss made when moving into television.
 
I agree, they don't have to read the sign. Also, I'd take everything we learned from the movie, and throw it out the window. The 'verse doesn't encompass the horror that was the movie.
 
Maybe they can enter the public places and Jenny (Calendar) was just unclear and Angelus felt like being the cocky fox he is.
 
I didn't like the movie, Buffy didn't look like a slayer at all!!!🙂🙂
I'm glad that joss changed everything!!!🙂
