That Soul Thing

Spike or Angel

Spike certainly earned his soul much more than Angel and I believe Spike became a better man for it, although, perhaps do to the time each has had theirs, Angel has done more good. I just think Angel is more vampire than Spike and visa versa with manhood. Angel goes around angsting while Spike acknowledges what he has done, but doesn't let it rule him. Many of his good deeds are done out of love, but also many are just because he's a good person. And Spike did nice things when he didn't have a soul, although he did have a chip, and all of those things weren't for the sake of getting closer to Buffy (i.e. when he helped Dawn). He seems more human than Angel because he's not doing what he does to atone for anything (much). Although I know it's more than just atoning for Angel, it seems that it makes up a much larger portion of the why to Angel's actions than it should.
Hmmm. I'm not sure if that made any sense, but hope at least a few people get it 🙂

You made sense
I am currently watching season 5 of Angel...so i have to complete Buffy seasons before i express a complete and satisfying opinion...i know that Angel never wanted a soul and he spent a century or so feeling guilty and not knowing what to do,but when he met Buffy he found a reason to fight,he wanted to help her and he wanted to do sth useful for this world,he wanted to atone for his crimes. After he went to L.A i think it was not about Buffy anymore,it was about saving his soul

I know Spike's behaviour didn't change much when he got the soul and i have seen him doing good things like sacrificing himself in "chosen" and savig Fred in "hell bound"

But i honetsly think Angel had done most good and he is more sensitive than Spike...i am also in love with Angel so that must be taken under consideration!

I must say Angel. Probably you are thinking well duh, you are a Bangel, but no, that is not the main reason. When Spike was human, he was a romantic soul, a poet, and when he becane a vampire.. where he was strong, and brutal, but not the most. He always had a plan but he never finished it. When he got a soul, he didn't really changed. I think he was the same when he had a chip in his head. But Angel, when he was a human, it was all about alcohol and girls, he was bad to the bone. When he became a vampire, he was the biggest beast of all beasts. And then he got a sould. He was walking around until he saw Buffy. He just saw her and he decided that it is time for redemption. She brought the best in him, the part he was always trying to hide. So yes, my answear is Angel, forever and all the way 😀

Whats to deserve - they were both robbed of their souls when they were turned into vampires and they were both fortunate enough to get them back. Neither is more deserving than the other. They both got back somehting that was rightfuly theirs.
