Why does Faith say "that's a shame" when Gunn tells her he can hold his own?

Why does Faith say "that's a shame" when Gunn tells her he can hold his own?

I always interpreted it that she took it as a comment on that he wasn't too great of a "team player".
And as she took charge she probably didn't want any dissension in the ranks so to speak. No one wants a loose canon on a salvage mission... and it takes one to know one 🙂

Hence 'that's a shame'...

Yeah it was clearly an innuendo... He was saying he can 'hold his own', Faith was saying it's a shame... I'm going to be the typical blunt Cait here and go ahead and say it... The mods can remove this is they wish to, but to make it clear - 'hold his own'... penis.

you said the P word! :D
I actually was never clear about it, either. Yet, reading nightshade's opening post it clicked with me what it meant right away. Funny how different things can come across on different mediums.

Also, I tend to be a tad naive sometimes. It's a trait I freely admit. 😀

Faith and Gunn would have been epic, I think the characters could have worked very well together. Plus, there would be some great tension between Faith and Fred
