I'd go for either Al Cooling or Alister J Cooling depending on what your act actually is...failing that using the stage name "Ricky G. Ervais" may con...erm...draw in a few punters...thank me later 😉

I think it does sound a little to wordy (going to be hard to fit that name 'in lights') and I don't want to sound mean but.... pretentious(?)

Its VERY pretentious - thats the point.

I would say that the 'act' will be based on me being a British Conservative in London.

I like Philatious Winthrope Soggybottom III because its a mockery of those those types of people.

In that case I'd suggest Alister J Cooling for definite...Philatious etc. III sounds too American.

You...as a British conservative in London...well, that's just too wacky and far-fetched 😉

Not too much of a stretch then 😀

I spend aloy of time with young Conservatives.
I have come across names like Theodore, Bennington and Maximillian.

I find them all pompous, arrogant and money loving fools!

Well, it seems that you've decided yourself. So...what was the point of this thread?

Personally, if I saw either of the two long ones as a stand up's name, I'd run a mile. But that's just me. And 72% of the others.

Well I made the decision last night actually, when I spoke to someone in the 'business' and he said that Philatious was probably be the best and along with the basic routine idea it worked, so the POINT of the thread was valid until last night.

As for the 72% comment, well thats not accurate is it?
You may run a mile but all the 72% shows is that they prefer a different name.

I doubt, also, that you would be the audience I would aim for.

BUT its all good.

Actually, the main flaw in the "run a mile" statement was that I wouldn't run a mile for anything, but you get some points anyway.

Also, it would have helped if you'd told people the basic routine idea. Transvestite assistants wasn't much to go on.

Although....if that was on the poster I might not run so far.....

In fairness, last night was a discussion that involved honing the routine, who we would be aiming for and alot more information.
