11.) Buffy & Angel: Buffy The Vampire Slayer — Buffy and Angel had so many problems. He was a vampire, she was the slayer. They couldn’t sleep together or he’d lose his soul. You know, the normal relationship drama. However, they loved each other so much that we couldn’t help but root for them, even though they could never be together.

Just goes to show how old I am, cause I am really surprised that Ricky & Lucy and Ralph & Alice aren't there, and, of course, my all time favorite...

I must be getting REALLY old...

Clearly I need to watch more tv as I don't know who most of those are!

I think somebody is watching too much WB to be honest.

There are plenty of better, more iconic couples than about half of these listed. And they could've tried going back say, to before the 90's or something- at least for a couple.

And if we're going for on-screen chemistry that kept things fresh and interesting for 4+ years then I'd go for John Critchton/Aeryn Sun from Farscape.

Also Kermit/Miss Piggy. 🙂

Hella to the yeah. Frelling John&Aeryn never get any love.
Pretty good list I guess, nice motivations. Only strongly disagree with 9. (The only thing Jamie and Clare have going for them is that Jamie is hot, show/book/pairing are otherwise horribly overrated), 7. (I'll just never understand the appeal of Damon. Sorry Delena fans. I don't get it.), and 1. lol, nothing against the characters but I never watched the show so I have no idea what they were like together. 🙂

Lol just more of the usual. Is there any 'best couples' list B/A don't make? Well except maybe Tumblr or bloggers. They always appear on mainstream media lists. But really no love for anything from the older days in that list.

Farscape is such a gem most people have never seen. Whedon could have learned a thing or two from watching that show. Especially how to break couples up and bring them back together while keeping everyone in character, not just the couple but also the people around them.

Btw funny that you mentioned them as I'm in the middle of S2 of my Farscape rewatch.

Ummm, some of these choices are questionable. But I think I can agree with Bangel, if only because they started the whole vampire dating a human craze. They are pretty darn iconic.

Yay for the B/A love! But the rest of the list is really lacking. Especially Damon/Elena, which is a snooze fest, and makes Edward/Bella look like a healthy couple *cringe*.

I agree. Damon and elana didnt work for me. As if he would love anyone but himself that much.
Can't really comment on most of the couples, but Lily and Marshall are awesome! Alyson Hannigan is very lucky when it comes to romance. Willow had the best partners and the cutest ships: Oz and Tara and Lily/Marshall were the BEST couple on HIMYM.
And obviously Buffy/Angel is an amazing couple!
I don't know if anyone here has watched Banshee and I know that Carrie/Hood aren't even close to being an iconic couple, but they are great together and my heart is still hurting cause the show ended. Also Olivia/Peter from Fringe were great.

It's a pretty good list. I'd personally get rid of 10-7 and 2. But Corey and Topanga are #1, so I won't completion to much. Lol. I do love Booth and Bones too.

I do love Booth and Bones too.
It's always funny to me that David ends up twice on these lists every time. I remember when EW (I think) used to release 'most romantic moments' occassionally on Valentine's Day he was on there twice as well. Once with Angel (IWRY) and then Bones (the S5 episode when Booth makes a move on Bones romantically).

He's a part of two great couples!
This is great for Bangel. It is nice it is still getting the recognition after all this time. It was always a timeless relationship.
