As you all know the master is the king of vampires who suffered an "unfair" death against buffy in the first season. This cannot happen as the master is so increadibly powerful and wise, his fury will reign again. When he rises no one can stop him because hes so powerful

He even came back a 2nd time
He obviously affected Buffy a lot because she kept having nightmares and visions about him even after she slayed The Master

I thought the master was a pretty crappy character, he had a good build up, but he was crappy.

It seemed his only achievement was growing old, there's never talk of him fighting a slayer.

Perfect season 1 baddie, though.

And anyone that can life forever can, well, live forever, if all they do is hide underground and just poke their head out of the hole every now and again to feed.
 
I am most certain he could kick kakistos ass since The Master had psychic powers, one of which was paralzying his victims so they couldn't fight back *Buffy*. I think he was A LOT older than Kakistos. The Master already looked extremely old when he sired Darla over four hundred years ago.

He had to be relatively tough for vampires like Darla and Luke to be terrified of him.
 
So why wasn't wasn't he cloven like Kakistos was? That's always annoyed me. If Kakistos is so old his hands are cloven, then why weren't the masters?
 
I think it will hit a different body part depending on the vampire. With Kakistos it started with the hands. With The Master it was his face. Darla said he had grown past the "curse of human features". He had a perpetual vamp face probably because that was the ONLY face he had.
 
Looking back, it's weird that Buffy defeated him so easily. I guess we can blame that he was weak from rising so recently and probably not having fought anyone in quite some time, and he underestimated Buffy, but it's still weird. And kinda disapointing.
 
I always thought that since he had killed her that somehow gave her an immunity to his psychic powers. ("I feel different.") It might have made her stronger as well and that's why she could best him. They say a slayer forges strength from pain, well imagine the slayer forging strength from dying! Also it could have been that the Master hadn't fought in centuries and was rusty, or maybe he relied on his psychic powers too much and once taken away he wasn't a very good fighter.

I agree, Bufy became immune, and that helped her in defeating him. I bet he wasn't expecting that.
He seemed rather fast to me. The way he poked out that minion's eye. How quickly he moved. The way he caught that arrow mid-air. And shouldn't he be stronger in general since he just drank the blood of a Slayer?

We don't know how evenly matched they were before he resorted to using his psychic abilities. He was impressed at her skill with a crossbow and how fast she was with it.

Something definitely changed in Buffy. She said she felt different. She instinctively knew where The Master was headed.
 
I love the Master and I think that if he wasn't thrown through the glass he would have killed Buffy no problem. It was a fluke kill :/
