Kindel Cain - Intro to Magicks
(Wow, this is totally going to be a lot more complicated than I thought.)
:: walks around the front of her desk and sits on the top of it ::
"Alright. It's obvious that many of you have a lot of different questions. I'll try to explain this as simple as I can. You're all here because you are special."
:: holds up her hand before anyone has a chance to interrupt ::
"Now, I'm sure most of you have been told that your whole life. But belive me when I say, none of you were special like you are now. You're Chosen. It used to be said that there was one girl in the whole world who had the strength and skill to hunt vampires. That's not true anymore. A powerful woman was able to take the magicks that made the Slayer who she was and channeled them into every girl who had the potential to be a slayer, to make her a slayer. Today, that girl is you."
:: stands up and begins to slowly pace the front of the classroom ::
" A group of these potentials were gathered before the spell. When they became Slayers, they were sent out and trained any new slayer they could find. That's where I come in. I was trained by one of the original slayers. Her name was Faith. She taught me to fight, to perfect my skills, to use weapons, and even to dabble in magick. After that, she left me on my own. I got a call from a man who told me about this place, The Academy. He wanted me to come and teach other girls what I know."
:: stops pacing and faces the girls, looking each of them in the eye as she continues ::
"You were each found, by a Shaman, because of your abilities. Whatever your backstories are, you're all here for the same purpose. You're going to learn to fight evil and you're going to do it in a classroom. So you're going to be taught like you would be in any other school. You are going to respect the rules like you would in any other school..."
:: looks over at Yale ::
"...and you will need supplies like you would at any other school. Any other questions?"
:: folds her arms across her chest in a slightly dramatic fashion ::
(Ok, they are so going to laugh at me for that one.)
