The Annointed One's Angel Rewatch

Hey guys!

So having finished my complete rewatch of Buffy I am now moving onto Angel. I dont tend to watch Angel episodes as much as Buffy ones (although I do watch the Darla and Faith ones a lot!!) and I havent seen the last two seasons. Because of this I thought Id start right from the beginning and enjoy the journey of Angel from S1-5!!! I will be posting my thoughts on each of the episodes, so please feel free to comment and lets discuss all things Angel! I would love to hear all of your opinions about this show.

So lets begin.....


Episode 1: City Of


 Ahh I absolutely love this opening scene, how Angel pretends to be drunk and within two seconds he changes from being slurry and out of it to being deadly serious and focused! I love the slow motion as he gets up and struts out of the bar – v cool!!
 Wow... love how Angel's stakes shoot out from both arms as he stakes two vamps at the same time- classic!!!
 These vampire faces are weird :S
 Interesting how the camera focuses on the blood of the girl’s head and Angel telling her to get away – it emphasises the temptation that is always there for him.
 Angel is effortlessly cool – staking the vamp on the car, and then casually walking off down the alley way.
 Theme tune = AMAZING! 🙂
 Doyle! Ahh I miss that guy, such a great character – love his accent. He does a great job of summing up the whole Buffy/Angel saga within a few sentences (and Buffy flashbacks) Love “Eventually the two of them, - well, they get fleshy with one another. Well, I guess the technical term is perfect happiness.”
 Haaa awkward Angel trying to make conversation with Tina, “sure is a cute little – doggie?”

 Angel: "Where’s home."
Tina: "Missoula, Montana. (Sees Angel’s face) You’ve been to Missoula?"
Angel: "During the depression. - Ah, my depression. I-I was depressed there." haaa (Angel can deliver lines so well!!! I love the way he says this)

 Cordelia – how ive missed her since Season 3 of Buffy (on my rewatch!) Angel’s line, “its nice that she’s grown as a person” makes me laugh out loud!!
 Haaaa Angel looks up “murders, young women” on the library computer search! Thats nice and specific 😛
 Look at Angel looming on those Roof tops!!

 Doyle: "Wow, you’re really going to war here. - I guess you – ah - you’ve seen a few in your time, yeah?"
Angel: "14, not including Vietnam. They never declared it."

Great scene between Cordelia and Russell– Cordy is great, i missed her quirks and eccentricities:

Cordelia: " I’m sorry! I’m getting all weepy in front of you. I probably look really scary. (gets up and looks around the room) I finally get invited to a nice place – with no mirrors, - and lots of curtains… hey, you’re a vampire!"
Russell: "What? No, I’m not."
Cordelia: "Are too!"
Russell: "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Cordelia: "Hey, I’m from Sunnydale. We had our own Hellmouth! I think I know a vampire when I’m - alone with him… - in his fortress-like home. And you know, I think I’m just feeling a little light headed from hunger. I’m just wacky. And kidding! Ha, ha."
SOOO hilarious!! 🙂

 Russell’s vampire face is SO UGLY! Even more ugly than other vamp faces – whats with that?? Haaa
 Cordelia: "You don’t know who he is, do you? Oh, boy! You are about to get your ass kicked!"
 Classic Doyle scene when he tries to drive through the gate – he gets so pumped up and screams only to not cause even a dent in the gate haaa - "It’s - a good gate."
 Great scene when Angel pushes Russels chair through the windon, “Can you Fly?.... hmmm I guess not”
 Once again a typical Cordy line – “You need somebody to organize things, and you’re not exactly rolling in it Mr.I-was-alive-for-200-years-and-never-developed-an-investment-portfolio."
 Great start 🙂


Episode 2: Lonely Hearts

 Haaaa Doyle comparing Angel with Batman!!“Great idea! Calling cards. It’s not like you have a signal folks can shine in the sky when ever they need help, you know?”
 Love how Cordy is just handing out cards in the middle of the club and spitting out those slogans like "being harassed by someone or something?" – cracking me up!!
 I love the ongoing joke about the Angel Investigations card... Its a butterfly! No its a bird! No its an owl! haaa and Kate later asks if its a lobster!!
 Cut to Angel as a guy walks away from him, “seriously I wasn’t hitting on you” HAAA
 Ahh Kate is so finnnnnnnnnnnnne 😉
 PREFIGURATION ALERT!! Cordelia talking about Doyle's visions - “If that was my gift, I’d return it.” If only she knew what was to come!!
 Best Cordy line of the episode –
Angel: “You actually live here?”
Cordy: “Yes, - okay? Is it my fault that maid service was interrupted? It was supposed to go, home, hotel, hotel, husband. Now can we move on?”
 Kate: You can go to Hell
Angel: Been there done that
 Okay this demon thingy is so gross - how do the writers come up with this stuff!!!
 Love how Doyle says “threshold” in his Irish accent 🙂
 Liked how the episode centred on the theme of loneliness - obviously the burrower/demony thing trying to "make a connection," the people it prays on are lonely people, Angel is lonely and disconnected from the world, Kate seems lonely and we have been seeing Cordelia's loneliness too.

I think i remember reading somewhere that they wanted the Vamps to look more "scary" in AtS, but they decided that it didn't work and they stayed with the look of the Vamps from BtVS, i'm not sure if they tried it out in this episode though,or if they had tried it before the show started.

You're right, all the vampires in City Of... have a different look from the ones on Buffy, and then the ones on every other episode of Angel. It was a bit of a silly idea, really. There's no reason the vamps in LA would be "scarier" than the ones in Sunnydale! I'm glad they realised that they just looked ugly and switched back to the old designs. That vamp-face had become classic.

Oh, and Cordelia in City Of... is just gold. They totally hit the ground running with her. "Are you still... *grrr*" and "Hey...YOU'RE A VAMPIRE!" are two of my favourite Cordy moments. And I have many.

I wonder if it had caught on if they would have used the new Vamp faces in BtVS? I agree though,there was nothin wrong with them to begin with, they probably just wanted a new look for a new show, but if it's not broken,don't fix it.

From what I remember (I'm sure it was in the commentary for that episode or something) they wanted the darker, scarier look because they intended Angel to be that bit edgier. Especially since Buffy was all set to run with the camp for Seasons 4 and 5. So I didn't get the impression that it would have made its way back to Sunnydale, though the idea of them having different vampires is a little silly. Either way, I'm glad it wasn't a prolonged experiment!

I just find it funny that they fell upon the perfect design, with the perfect archetype in The Master in Welcome to the Hellmouth, and yet after 3 years of experience... they came up with THOSE!

Episode 3: In The Dark

 Spike is hilarious in this opening scene 🙂 - I was literally laughing out loud at his voiceovers set against the movement of Angel and the girl he saved and how he switches from high to low pitch voice!!:

• "Now I’m just a big, fluffy puppy with bad teeth. "
• "No, not the hair! Never the hair!"
• "And working up a load of sexual tension, and prancing away like a magnificent poof is truly thanks enough!" haaaaaaaaaa!!!
• "Evil’s still afoot! And I’m almost out of that Nancy-boy hair-gel that I like so much. Quickly, to the Angel-mobile, away!”

 The Cordy and Oz meeting is so funny! I love how she calls him “good old Oz” and their catch up is classic!–

Cordy: “We have some serious catching up to do. How is everything? How’s – how’s the bronze?”
Oz: “The same.”
Cordy: “And the gang?”
Oz: “They’re good.”
Cordy: “Good? – Good! - Good.”
They look at each other for a moment.
Oz: “Are we done?”
Cordy: “Completely.”

Both have such great comic timing – they had nothing to say each other at Sunnydale so this fits in perfectly haaa

 Classic Doyle lines here- “I know a couple of strip clubs that have a fabulous luncheon buffet!” and when he picks up the stake and tells Angel to put the ring on, “ Why don’t you put it on and I’ll stake you. It’ll be fun!” haaa
 My favourite Doyle moment in this episode though is when Cordelia tells him of the events of the night before, that Doyle called Oz “my little bam bam” and that the main characters of Angela’s Ashes was Betty and Barney Rubble! Hehe
 Loved all of Spike and Angel’s confrontations and fights in this episode!!! So great together (can't wait to see them back together in S5!!)
 Arghh I hate Marcus – gets on my nerves. Plus it was so creepy at the end when he approached the group of kids by the balloons with that smile of his!! “hello boys and girls” No No NO!!
 Loved when Spike said "it's called addiction, Angel. We all have it. - I believe yours is named Slutty the vampire Slayer” Slutty the vampire slayer – HAAHAHAHA Ahhh if only he knew he'd be addicted soon enough 😛 haaa
 When Oz’s van crashes into the warehouse he says “Spike” like he knows him – has he ever had a scene with him in his time on BtVS??? Dont think so! Spike probably doesn’t know who the hell he is!!! Haaaa
 Spike is so good in this episode – his whole spiel and tantrum when theyve all escaped and he ends up with his head on fire haaa oh spike!!

“Son of a bitch! - I do the work, - I do the digging, - fight off a Slayer, - drive to LA, fire the help, - and what do I get? - ROYALLY SCREWWED, is what! - Well that cinches it. No more partners. From now on I’m my own man. A lone wolf. Sole survivor. Look out, here comes Spike! The baddest mother… (a beam of sunlight from one of the bullet holes hits the back of his head and his hair ignites) Ahh! (he ducks and puts his hair out with his hands) I really hope they kill each other.”

 Just had a thought – the ring makes vampires able to walk in the sun – ahhh so thats where The Vampire Diaries got the idea from 😛

 The background in the end scene look so fake!!!
 Does anyone notice that when Angel is talking to Doyle here, Angel’s irish accent comes back ever so slightly like when he said “I was brought back for a reason”

Episode 4: I Fall To Pieces

 Not one of my favourite episode I have to say
 Great Cordy/Doyle banter though! When Cordy says “You are a lot smarter than you look– Of course you look like a retard.” So funny!
 Weird episode. The lone eye hovering in mid air – urghh! The scene when his hands go to Mellisa’s bedroom and under her covers- eeek! Loved Doyle’s commentary on this: “ Not a lot of things that make me shudder, but this guy – crawling around under the covers. - At least it was just his hands down there. Wish I hadn’t even thought that.” haaa
 The policeman that gets killed by the hands is Stanley from The Killing!!!
 Love Angel’s dead pan humour:

Cordy: “What is stalking now a days – the third most popular sport among men?”
Angel “Fourth – after Luge.” Haaaa

Episode 5: Room With A View

 Really like this episode – love the emphasis on Cordy, she is such a great character and is explored really well here
 Haha Angel is showering to “Ode to Joy” - brilliant!
 Love love love Angel/Cordy scenes in this episode - there are such good moments

• Cordy: So, here I am. Not that you’re the last resort. It’s just that I have nowhere else left to go.
• Cordy: Your shower is in here, right? You have mousse? – Of course you do"
• Love when Cordy says Angel has an “overhanging forehead” and Angel touches his forehead to check!! Haaa

 Does anyone notice that Angel’s voice changes when he get his Vamp face on? Ha
 Ahhh how scary when the old woman/ghost pops up in Cordy’s mirrior!!
 Haaaa Angel and Doyle bring Cordy a cactus!!!! So cute! But why a cactus??!
 Cordy is amazing! When they hear the ghost saying “Die” she says "maybe it’s not done. Maybe it’s ‘diet’. That’s friendly. A little judgmental, sure." It reminds me of that Simpson’s episode where Homer sees the words "Die" written on the billboard and screams and then the wind blows and it is revealed to be “DIET” and he screams louder haaa
 Cordy: "Little old lady ghost. How come Patrick Swayze is never dead when you need him?”
 Brilliant scene when Cordy and the old woman are in the bedroom and as soon as she calls Cordy a bitch Cordy finally remembers that actually shes stronger than she thinks!! This whole speech is great:

Cordy: "I’m not a sniveling whiny little Cry-Buffy. I’m the nastiest girl in Sunnydale history. - I take crap from no one.”
Maude: “You are going to make yourself a noose and put it around..”
Cordy: “Back off! Polygrip. - You think *you’re* bad? Being all mean and haunty? Picking on poor pathetic Cordy? Well, get ready to haul your wrinkly translucent ass out of this place, because lady, the bitch is back.”

The way she says this reminds me of how she confronts Gorch in Homecoming in BtVs. Its the same attitude and tone.

 When Maude bricks up Dennis in the wall and then when he says “I can’t breathe”– so disturbing! Now thats what you call an overprotective mother!!
 Cordy: “hey - Phantom Dennis, put that back.” Haaa!!

One thing about I fall to pieces....I can't remember, I'll have to see it on my next watch, but isn't it cordy that tells angel that what that stalker guy did was take her power away... and angel tells her....I can't quite remember how it goes but I found it very affirming.

Angel: “She’s scared. He’s had her on the ropes for a while now.”
Kate: “Then you better help her get mad, because that is the only way she’ll be able to fight him.”
Angel: “Well, hopefully I’ll be doing the fighting. That’s why she hired me.”
Kate: “That’s not what I mean. This guy could go to jail tomorrow, Angel, and still kill her in her dreams every night. I’ve put a few of these creeps away and the hardest thing is to know that he is still winning. She’s still afraid. He took her power away and no one can get it back for her but her.”

Yer, was a good scene!

Episode 6 Sense and Sensitivity

 Angel is hilarious trying to be caring at the beginning "“ it sounds so forced and awkward - "Cordelia, I wanted to, - you know, - thank you so much for - going through those coroner reports. Because I can imagine how not fun it is to read about, - you know- coroner stuff." 😀
 Really Really can't stand Mercer "“ such an annoying character!! 😡
 Once again great Cordy/Doyle banter "“ I love this pairing, such a shame it was never meant to be. Highlight:
Cordy to Doyle: "What's her deal? Too much..(makes a drinking motion with her thumb pointing at her mouth)"
Doyle: "Thumb sucking?"
Cordy: "Alcohol! Dummy." 😀
 Kate is absolutely hilarious being under the spell of the sensitivity training! She does it so well! I love Kate!! I know she can be a little uptight sometimes but we see so much of her vulnerability in this episode. Okay, I know it is in a comedic context when she bursts out crying in her speech which is meant to be over the top because of the spell but what she says about her wanting to just hang out with her Dad and that he never told her she looked pretty really made me feel for her! KATE YOU ARE PRETTY!
 I loved when Kate threatened Cordy and Doyle with the gun! "and I don't want to come off as insensitive, but if either of you tries to stop me I'm gonna have to blow you the crap away, because I got to go find my Daddy." CLASSIC! Haaa
 Angel has some great lines being under the influence of the sensitivity rod! He is soo so funny "“
"¢ "Okay, I think someone needs a hug."
"¢ You both withdraw when I go vamp. I feel you judge me." (could not stop laughing at this!!!!)
"¢ "I can't say that I'm comfortable with all this." "“ when breaking into the police station
"¢ Angel points at the broken window: "Wow. That's vandalism."
Doyle: "Ah, we'll take care of it later."
Angel: "We should leave a note."
"¢ Angel: "There is always time to be considerate of others, Cordelia." 😀

 Great scene when Angel confronts Tony whose holding the gun:
"¢ Angel: "I'm feeling some serious negative energy in this room."
"¢ Angel: "That and the body language. It's so closed."
"¢ Angel: "You know, Anthony you could be a rainbow and not a (hits him over the head and drops him) painbow. (Kate stares at him) I mean, it really is all up to you."
"¢ When Angel and Kate both say "you" to eachother haaa

 I hate Kate's dad at the end "“ "Katie.. - Don't - don't say anything. You make an idiot out of yourself, embarrass me in front of the guys. You don't bring that up ever again. " What an absolute IDIOT he is!!!!! 😡

Episode 7 The Bachelor Party

-- haaa classic Cordy at the beginning:

Doyle: "Yeah, just because he has money, doesn't mean that he can make you happy."
Cordelia: "I'll have you know that Pierce has a lot more than money. He has a house in Montecito, he has a Mercedes CLK 320 and a place in the hills with a lap pool.

-- Love how Angel questions Pierce like he is Cordelia's dad - "You work Pierce?" .."So how late will you be?" Angel can be so funny! I love his dead pan humour and he does come out with some great lines amid his brooding and seriousness!!

-- Haa When Cordy bites the vamp it reminds me of the scene in Prophecy Girl when she bites the vampire's hand coming through the library door and she says "see how you like it!"

-- Awww lovely Cordy and Doyle moment when he rescues her:

Doyle looks at Cordy as they slowly get up: "Are you okay?"
Cordy with a frown: "I'm fine. That was.. You're so - brave."
Doyle: "You think you could say that again without so much shock in your voice? You're stepping on my moment of manliness here."
Cordy still frowning: "I'm sorry. I'm just.."
Doyle: "Surprised?"
Cordy: "Grateful."

I miss Doyle so much and I love Doyle/Cordy - what is their ship name - Doyly, Dordy, Coryle - really dont know haaa That woudl have been such a great ship - such a shame!!! It really is!

-- Haa love the reference to Xander "So, I've got to kill myself. I swore when I went that road with Xander Harris, I'd rather be dead then date a fixer-upper again."

-- so funny when Cordy walks in on Doyle when he renacts the rescue scene! Reminds me when everyone walked in on Giles when he said, "Will you be ready if a vampires behind you?!"

-- Doyles Wife is HOT! Not as hot as Cordy, but still!!

-- Love how Angel just says "nice to meet you" with no shock about the fact Doyle has a wife! CLASSIC ANGEL!!! 🙂 🙂

-- Hey its the guy from Anne!!

-- Doyle!!! Love his line : "He's a demon? And she's all signed on to be Mrs. Demon? Tell me again how ugly he is!"

-- Great scene where all Richard's family are gathering around the table and listing what is going to happen at the Bachelor Party, casually dropping in the reference to the sacrifice like its a normal thing!!:

"Ah, lets see.. First we greet the man of the hour. - Then we drink. (Yays around the table) We bring out the food. Then we drink. (Yays) Then comes the Stripper. (Yays) Darts, - then we have the ritual eating of the first husbands brains, and then charades."... Wait... what was that.. charades?" HAAAAAA

-- As if Angel would be able to remember all those words perfectly in that demon language after only hearing it once and then repeat them again later on over the phone!!!

-- Best quote:
Doyle: "Ouch! - Hey, - my head's going numb."
Richard as someone put a lobster bib on him: "Well, I should hope so! We wouldn't want you to suffer when we cut into your skull."

-- Second best quote:

Brother: "You don't need her anyway!"
Cousin: "Yeah, who wants a wife whose knees only bend the one way?"

Episode 8: I Will Remember You

-- Great episode, but so heartbreaking!! Buffy and Angel finally reunited and then torn apart again!!! So So sad 🙁 🙁

-- Love a bit of Cordy/Doyle banter to start an episode (sadly not many of those left 🙁 )

Doyle: "Maybe he's over her."
Cordy pats Doyle on the shoulder: "You have so much to learn little Irish man."

"little Irish Man" haaaa that made me giggle! 😀

-- BUFFFFYYY!! WOW what an entrance... and what an attitude she has!! She looks so hot!! "A little upset!" ooooh Angel is in for it haaa

-- Classic Cordy like when she was in BtVS -

Doyle: "Well, she seemed a little.."
Cordy: "Bulgarian in that outfit?"

-- Cordy : "She killed him! (Picks up a handful of dust) Oops! My bad. (Brushes off her hands) It's just dust I forgot to sweep under the rug." haa so funny!

-- Loved that moment when Angel becomes human, the sound of his heartbeat thumping and how he stares at his hand and says, "Im alive"!!

-- Cordy's reaction when Angel comes through the front door :

Cordy: "Hey, you walked in the front door - from the street! You got.."
Angel looking at Doyle: "Yeah."
Cordy: "An umbrella!"

-- Angel: "i'm soo hungry....." Great scene as he raids the fridge.. "CHOCOLATE" ... "This is unbelievable" Angel is so hilarious !!!

-- My favourite moment is when Buffy is in the sunlight and turns around - she can feel Angel though she cannot see him. And then he appears out of the darkness and then grabs her and kisses her in the light. It’s a great scene!! Funny when Buffy later says that "as far as kisses go I thought it was well above average"

-- Cordy: "Im sure they are down there just having tea and crackers" haa yup!!

-- THE PASSION IS RELEASED!!!! 🙂 🙂

-- Such a cute scene when they are in bed and eating ice cream. Love when they are together and Buffy can hear Angel's heartbeat and the way she says "thump thump, thump thump" SO CUTE!!

-- "We will have another one like it tomorrow!" Oh no you want - so so sad!! Esp when you know what's coming...!!

-- Is it me or is the Graduation Day music (in the fight scene between Buffy and Faith) replaying in the scene where Angel and Buffy fight the demon before Buffy kills him? Sounds v similar!!

-- Angel’s sacrifice makes me so sad – sacrificing a lifetime of happiness with Buffy for the good of the world. The fact that he alone must carry the memory of his time with Buffy just makes me feel for him – he has to carry the burden of his choice, remembering always the time they had and the life they could have led 🙁 When he says at the end “forget” - which is exactly what he said at the beginning - it takes on so much more meaning this time around!

-- Angel’s discussion with the Oracles really made me think. I know he chose what he did to remain a warrior to fight the darkness that was coming, but a large part of it was to protect Buffy:

"She'll die? - Then I'm here to beg for her life."
"Look I can't protect her or anyone this way, not as a man."
"This one is willing to sacrifice every drop of human happiness and love he has ever known for another."

He thinks that he will be able to protect Buffy if he returns to what he was, not being helpless to distract her and to help her against the forces of darkness. Watching this back after knowing that actually Buffy dies in Season 5 is so sad! Even with his sacrifice Buffy still dies!

-- That scene before the clock turns back is so heartbreaking. SMG is amazing in this scene! Her crying is so emotional, the tears in her eyes, the curled lip and the way she says "A minute? No. No, it's not enough time!," "No. I'll never forget. I'll never forget. I'll never forget. I'll never forget" and the whole of the last bit:

Angel: "It never happened."
Buffy shakes her head: "It did. It did. I know it did! (Puts her hand on his heart) I felt your heart beat."
Angel: "Buffy.."
They kiss. Buffy looks over at the clock. The minute is almost up.
Buffy: "No! It's not enough time."

-- Its so heartbreaking how Buffy at the end is distant and shrugs the meeting off after all we’ve seen

Buffy: "Yeah. Okay. - So I guess we've covered it, right?"

And then Angel is left alone, "Yeah, that's it" and then silence 🙁

Episode 9: Hero


• Ahhhh I love this episode but it is so sad!! Doyle and Cordy were never meant to be !!! So short lived! They could have been so good together – loved when the whole half-demon thing comes out it doesn’t matter to Cordy and she says "Good. That's out. It's done. - Would you ask me out to dinner already?" awwww

• Love how this episode gives us more of an insight into Doyle but at the same time its so frustrating - we finally get to know Doyle but then he is cruelly snatched away from us

• We see how far Doyle has come – in his past he doesn’t want to help fight against the Scourge, “Im not your guy.” In this episode he becomes a true Hero.

• The final 15 minutes or so are epic! The moment when he punches Angel so that he sacrifices himself, he FINALLY kisses Cordy and then it is all over! 🙁

• Funny line from Angel in the middle of the episode - "You catch on quick, football-head." haaa

• I think the very last scene is so heartbreaking. What makes it so emotional is the difference in feeling I get watching the same scene of Doyle doing the video recording - the beginning when its actually being recorded and then when Angel and Cordy watch it at the end. Right at the beginning it is so funny when he says “Our rats are low” and how he says “Come on over to our offices” as he beckons with his arm and then “is that it? Am I done?” because he is nervous in front of the camera. At the end though those final lines have so much more meaning, are so heartbreaking and then the cut to the credits!! DOYLE!!!!

Episode 10: Parting Gifts

-- Awww I miss Doyle already! Cordelia looking for anything to be reminded of Doyle 🙁
-- Bit too soon to go to an audition Cordy!!!
-- This whole episode belongs to Wesley - he steals every scene he is in! Such a great character and he is HILARIOUS in this episode!!!
-- Wesley's entrance is so funny! The way he slips on the edge of the bed with his foot after he says “In point of fact I no longer work for the Council. I came to the conclusion that I was of greater value to the cause working autonomously.”
-- Aww I got all teary when Cordy said that Doyle "could be really sweet sometimes" and gets emotional..... CORDY!! 🙁

CLASSIC WESLEY:

--"A lone wolf, such as myself, never works with anyone. I’m merely allowing Angel to assist me.".... "Im a rogue Demon Hunter now" cracks me up everytime he says this haaa
-- LOVE when Wes and Angel have that tug of war with the book - love the interaction between those two - hilarious!!!
--Cordy: “Are you alright, Wesley?”
Wesley: “No. These pants, they tend to chafe one’s (looks at Cordy) – legs." CLASSIC!!
-- When Wesley tries to rescue Cordy, hops on one foot trying to free the knife he taped to his leg and then falls down - haaaa

-- Love the auction scene when Cordy tries to get her value increased!! 🙂

Barney: “11,000 it is. 11,000 once, twice…”
Cordy: “Hey, you know you pay twice that for cataracts. These eyes are flawless even without the stupid visions! That’s the best you can do?”
Barney: “12,000. I have 12,000 from the gentleman. 13,000? 13,000? Going for 12,000…”
Cordy: “You know what these eyes can do? They can see stuff – like danger, and – and evil and locations buried treasure!”
Barney: “13,000, do I hear 13?”
Cordy: “Come on, have some huevoes, guy! Whity here is stepping all over you. You’re going to take that from his kind?”

-- The last scene is very cute, when Wes makes a prolonged goodbye to try and get invited to stick around for food ... and then at the end when he says "Did you say something about toast?” And then the camera fades out with all three of them around the table!

In "I Will Remember You" during the scene downstairs just before time get's sent back you can hear David say "Please, Sarah, please" or something to her because she was getting to upset to make it true the scene 😛

Ahhh havent updated this for ages.... left Angel rewatch for a bit - I think the problem is that there is no underlying arc the first half of Season 1, but it does get better and there are some great episodes in S1... ill continue...

Episode 11: Somnambulist

 I really enjoy this episode... that opening of Angelus "returning", the whole question of whether Angel really is doing it and finally the big reveal that its actually one of the vampires Angelus sired worked really well. I LOVE the flashback scenes.... to be honest, I love seeing Angelus on the screen... I really want ANGELUS BACK haaa Seeing more of Angelus’s history is great
 Mini-Angelus!!! Haaa I read somewhere this episode was meant to be called “The Killer I Created” which I think is a better title, but apparently they had to change it because the script was leaked or something like that. The Killer I Created fits really well!
 Obviously a big turning point in the series as there is the big revelation to Kate at the end.
 Love how Angel just puts his vamp face on in front of Kate as if it’s no big deal haaa
 Funny line after Angel says “Go Kate, get out of here” – Penn is in disbelief - “You know its name? Angelus, what happened to you?” haaaa
 Classic Cordy....

Angel:”Give me a stake.”
Cordy: “It’s like 8 in the morning. - Oh, you mean like (makes a stabbing motion), okay.”

 Haaa Wesley just walking in oblivious to everything, “nothing on the streets about a new vampire in town” when he's right behind him!!!
 “The demon with the face of an angel” – great quote
 Read something really interesting about one of the last scenes in this episode. The writer of this episode, Tim Minear says that an important moment is when Kate goes through Angel to stake Penn. Minear calls this "the perfect moment. Because it's Angel opening himself up and actually sort of taking responsibility in a visceral movie kind of way for this horrible thing that he's done."

Episode 12: Expecting

 An alright episode, - entertaining enough though because of so many Cordyisms! 🙂
 I love the opening between Wesley and Angel when they go after the demon
 Wesley is hilarious when he knocks down the old couple’s door with weapon in hand...

“Don’t move a muscle. – Demon spawn! (The man blinks at him) Cowards, don’t make me thrash it out of you. Where do you lay your eggs? In the cellar?”

And Angel... And we fight termites, where ever they may roam.”

HAAAA

 The scene in the kitchen when Cordy talks to Dennis is hilarious....

“All right, Dennis, *knock it off*! This is the one guy, I’ve actually liked in a long time, and if you keep killing the mood, I’ll kill *you*! (Gets the teakettle) All right, empty threat, you being a ghost and already dead and all. But I’ll do something *worse*! I’ll play ‘Evita’ around the clock. The one with *Madonna*!” ahhhh cordy!! 😀😀

 A pregnant stomach has never looked scarier! Haaa 😱
 The best moment was when Dennis brings Cordelia the tissues – it’s such a sweet moment!
 Great Wesley moment:

Angel: “We have to move fast. You’re gonna have to see what’s inside her.”
Wesley shocked: “I beg your pardon?”
Angel with a smile: “Pre-natal exam, Wesley.”

HAA LMAO!!!!!!😀

 The demon at the end is so lame!
 Wesley steals the last scene:

Cordy: “Okay. I learned that I have two people I trust absolutely with my life. - And that part’s new.”
Wesley takes a deep breath, then looks away dabbing his handkerchief at his eye: “Uh, some, uh – allergies.” 🙂

Episode 13: She

 Again, not a great episode but had some great scenes.
 How weird was the whole mutilation of the “ko” spine thing that went on...painful stuff eeeeek 😕😕
 The best bit was the opening scene – I couldn’t stop laughing. Wesley dancing and then tripping over himself and dropping his food – priceless! 😀😀
 Cordy: “Your idea of hell?”
Angel: “Actually in hell you tend to know a lot of the people
 The best quote of the WHOLE episode was Wesley’s attempts at playing it cool when a girl chats to him...

Girl: “Hey. (Wesley chokes and starts coughing) Nice sweater. Hand knit?”
Wesley: “Certainly not by me.”
Girl: “I didn’t mean – I mean it’s a great sweater.”
Wesley: “Oh, well, I-I’ll pass that on then – to the person who knit it. – I-I mean, I would, if I knew who did – but I don’t. - So I won’t pass it on to anyone, will I?”
Girl: “Oh.” Walks away.

“So I won’t pass it on to anyone, will I?” Love how he says this!! Haaa I LOVE Wesley!!!! 😀🙂😀😛

 Angel’s dancing – HAAAA!! When he starts doing the little claps!!! “I don’t dance” 😀
 The scene with Angel and Dennis is really sweet! “Hmmm still dead? I know the feeling” AWWWW
 Another great scene is when Angel switches to becoming the art tour guide when he goes into depth about the painting he’s next to – Angel is SO WISE!!!
 Ahh Wes.... “Well, that’s... I can’t tell you... (Takes a breath) I am your faithful servant, Angel.”
