the thing that pisses me off is that he waited until the last minute to run, he could have called it off at anytime.

Its weird though, i love nearly all of the chracters, but when Xander did that i dunno why, but it made me really struggle to like him again after that.

I don't think he waited until the wedding to break her heart. I believe he wanted to marry her, even with the doubts, but then the visions he had to live through hit him hard. Didn't you sympathize with him when he glanced at his parents fighting before he said to Anya, "I don't wanna hurt you. Not that way."?

I sure did. Poor Xander. 🙁

What I disliked though was that he left the whole mess for Anya to clean. He should have at least stuck around to announce the cancellation of the wedding.

I love Xander for many reasons... For one, he was one of the most real characters on the show. He wasn't perfect, and he made a few big mistakes in the show, but that was one reason I loved him so much. He was also one of the funniest characters, and Nick Brendon is adorable. Who can resist that gorgeous smile? 🙂 I also love that no matter what, he always made the choice to fight the good fight, even if some of his intentions can be seen as underhanded. He cared about the fate of the world so much that even when he disagreed with everything Buffy thought/wanted, he still fought at her side. THAT is a true hero.

Xander is my Hero hes awesome
He's hilarious.
And even without powers, he managed to save the world.
And bring Buffy back to life...Twice. 😉
He's just so amazingly funny.
With his random phrases and outbursts and dances (The Snoopy Dance is the best. 😉)
And Nick Brendon is likable enough himself, he just puts it all into the character. :]
 
After watching the paley panel dvd, i think nick brendon is freaking hilarious! he's just so witty! Xander was such a perfect character for him. or maybe its Xander who over the years rubbed off on him? lol
