Since the other thread went over the limit I closed it and opened a new one.

This time can we please keep the thread on topic. You don't like Bangel that's fine, you can talk about you dislike in an appropriate place but not here. It's not fair to those who genuinely do want to discuss what they like about the ship.

Wow, I am so happy to hear you say that. Although to be fair to the spuffies intitally I totally went to their lame spuffy appreciation thread to make sure they got a taste of their own medicine. But I am a changed woman. I will no longer do that. 🙂

First of all: Spike IS hotter than Angelus.
Second: When you want to insult Spike you just say he tried to rape her. It looks like you dont have other things to say in your "defence"

Please. Spike hotter than Angel/Angelus? Don't make me laugh any more. It hurts me that you actually believe this.

And do you homework. There are alot more arguements to my "defence" than just "Spike tried to rape Buffy"

1: Buffy turns to Spike because she is emotionally distraught and depressed. Bad relationship decisions because of emotional issues does not equal love. Believe me, I've been there.

2: Spuffy is purely sexual. Sex does not equal love

3: Spike is clearly not the right man for Buffy. Hence the reason why her friends are so distraught over the fact that she had a relationship with him.

4: It's not a good idea to date ANYONE who has tried to kill you multiple times before.

5: It's also not a great idea to date ANYONE who has stalked you in the past.

6: Spike DID try to rape Buffy. You can't simply put a band-aid on that. See 4 and 5. It's not a good idea

The arguement before was that Spike was the same (non) person, with or without a soul. By that arguement, Spike with a soul was just as capable of trying to stalk, murder, and rape Buffy. Clearly not good boyfriend material.

Want me to come up with more reasons why Spuffy is bad?

Obviously you didn't realize that was a slight sexual joke. Given your age, I'm gonna let it slide. Obviously I wasn't serious about thinking it's a great idea for Angel (or any other vampire) to drink Buffy's blood.

Do you live in such a sheltered world that you have never heard of white lies before?!? SERIOUSLY. People tell the truth. They also lie. EVERYONE. Buffy is a television character modeled after a real human being. Not every word that comes out of her mouth can be taken at face value. It's called subtext.


And I think Spike would know if Buffy really loved him. Give him at least that little bit of credit if you really love him so much. Or do you think he's so dense he wouldn't notice that she actually loved him?

I think you need to review what you have written and how the real world works. It's quite obvious that what you are saying is what doesn't make sense. Your arguement is full of holes. Patch it up and let me know when you have some real evidence that Buffy loved Spike.

Reasons why BANGEL is superior:
1: Bangel IS true love! Everyone admits it
2: Angel is the first man Buffy falls in love with
3: Angel is willing to give up being HUMAN and being with Buffy(his ultimate dream) in order to protect her
4: Even Angelus is obsessed with Buffy and feels a connection between them
5: There is actual feelings between Angel and Buffy; it's more than just sex
6: Angel is way hotter than Spike

Does anyone sometimes think to themselves "Wow, we're discussing fictional characters (including vampires) like they are real people?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not ripping on anyone here - because I do it just as much as anyone else.

Just, when the arguments get to the point that we're trying to use reason to prove our own points it seems silly. Aren't TV shows and books and movies created so we can use our imagination to think our own thoughts?

So I've decided that from now on I am going to respect all the bangels and all the spuffies and anyone who chooses to believe in something. Because this show is MADE UP!

I hope no one gets the wrong idea by what I mean by this.

OH MY GOD...ummm, okay i REALLY want to respect that this is soley a Bangel appreciation thread, but COME ON! How am I supposed to restrain myself from responding to all that?! Cause I really REALLY want to.... I mean its one thing to go on ablout Bangel love and even diss Spuffy amongst yourselves, but when all those questions are directed at us, how are we expected to not want to answer, oh I'm itching to....

Reasons why BANGEL is superior:
1: Bangel IS true love! Everyone admits it (this is not a valid arguement. THis is your opinion. and.. Everyone admits it? If everyone for you is all the Bangels fans then it's ok..)
2: Angel is the first man Buffy falls in love with (ok.. so? Now a women can't fall in love with another guy? She has to be in love with her 1st love for the rest of her life?)
3: Angel is willing to give up being HUMAN and being with Buffy(his ultimate dream) in order to protect her (so was spike! and what does this have to do with Buffy loving angel?)
4: Even Angelus is obsessed with Buffy and feels a connection between them (arhhh HE WAS TRYING TO KILL HER. No, better... he was trying to make her crazy and then he'd kill her.)
5: There is actual feelings between Angel and Buffy; it's more than just sex (you've said it before. AND spuffy is not just sex. remind me if i'm wrong but we didnt see a single sex scene between buffy and spike in season 7. AND Bangle is not just sex because Bangel CAN'T be (just) sex.)
6: Angel is way hotter than Spike (Ok, first, he's not. AND now Buffy loves angel more just because he is hotter? I don't think he is but this has nothing to do with Buffy loving Angel/Spike.)

1. What was your favorite part or dynamic of the Bangel relationship?
2. When did you know that you were a Bangel fan?
3. How would you like to see the story line continued in regards to Bangel?
4. What would be your ideal story end to Bangel?

Well, if I HAVE to put a title on it, I am a "Spuffy" shipper, but I certainly appreciate the Bangel ship for what it was: Buffy's first, true love. I have nothing whatsoever against Bangel. They were sweet together. Season 2 & 3 were mega-Bangel eppys, even tho Angelus threw a screwdriver into that well-oiled wheel... :hehe:

But I digress...

As much as I loved watching the Spuffy relationship unfold, I still have a warm place in my heart for Bangel. Guess I'm just mature that way. :whistle:

1. Angelus. I kid you not. A big part of why I like Bangel has to do with the fact that while it began as a typical Romeo and Juliet story, throwing the Angelus twist in there really upped the ante. I loved the questions that it brought up for us and for Buffy.

2. I don't know. For the first few episodes, I thought Angel was weird and pervy. During "Angel," though, I really started to see that this was going to be something different than your typical teen bad boy romance story. I think I was on board from "Angel," up until season 3, when Bangel started to bore me. During season 2, I was really rooting for the team to find a way to return Angel to Buffy.

3. Well, I'm not sure it can continue until or unless Angel finds a way to remove the curse. With the curse, Bangel just turns into the All Day Angst-a-thon and, honestly, they're all getting a little too old for that. I think it would be great if the curse removal grew out of an enemy's attempt at manipulation. Let's say some big bad removes the curse in order to create a distraction and to take the slayer and Angel off the battlefield for awhile. As a result, one of the peripheral scoobs is killed and turned while fighting evil in the main characters' place. I'd love to see that kind of a story -- in which a big bad uses the strength of their love against them. I think Dru would be a great villain for this kind of thing. I've always said I would love for Dru to be a big bad. In this scenario, I'd want her to steal and sire Connor.

4. Well, that's the thing about Bangel... it never quite ends. I don't think a set-in-stone ending would be very Bangel-ey.
