Question The Bangel-Spuffy Moments Shipper Swap

Ok, maybe I'm out of line but this shipper war of ours has become slightly tedious of late. We are running ourselves in cirlces so perhaps we should try and change it up a bit...for the sake of our sanity 😉 *Gives Emmzie a "there there" pat on the back* 😛

So what I propose is that we "swap" moments from the opposing ship. More specifically moments we would have wanted for our own ship. So pick a moment, say why you liked it and why you want it for your ship?

Ok, I'll go first.

I'm gona snag Buffy and Spike's bedroom scene from Touched. I think the reason why is obvious lol It is probably the most tender scene in the entire season seven and is, I think anyway, comforting for the viewer too. After seeing Buffy kicked out of her house I kinda feel that the fans needed that pep talk too, whether you agreed with the Scoobies actions or not, we needed to be remineded of who Buffy really was: kinda awesome. 😉

Why I want it for Bangel? because as much as I love that Buffy and Angel are their own people and blazed powerful new paths without each other I also miss when he was her crux. When just a look from him would have said everything that Spike had to say aloud. I miss how intune they were with each other and how they were always the one to provided that extra bit of strenght when the other felt like they had nothing left to give. They were like each other's secret weapon and I really would love to see a time when Bangel could be that for each other again.

The moment I read your question the scene in Touched sprung to mind. That was a really beautiful scene.

I would want what we see of the love scene in "innocence". I would because that was a beautiful moment. Spike and Buffy (in season 6) were always going at it and it was pretty rough. It became the usual thing to see on screen, and it would have been nice it is was not and you could have seen how much they loved eachother through a special night like that.

Okay, a Bangel scene stolen for Spike (Hard to single one out, really. Spike stole every scene that he and Angel ever shared, whether Buffy was there or not)

Okay, the opening scene of the first episode of Season 3, the dream sequence where Buffy and Angel met on the beach in daylight. Put Spike there instead of Angel. Two blondes on a California beach...

Sorry if that's kinda lame, but after 30 days of forced Bangel-mania, I am so overwhelmed with repressed Spuffiness that I probably won't be able to say the word "Bangel " for a couple of months, let alone think of a good Bangel scene.

This is a very clever thread idea. I was surprised at how quickly I thought of the moment I'd snag for Spuffy...

I'm thinking of a moment in the bronze - Not sure of the episode but I think it might be the episode when Wesley comes into the series - anyway, Buffy gives Angel a particular artefact for safekeeping, Wesley objects but Buffy says that she trusts him and they kiss, very quickly just before he leaves. I would snatch a moment like that for Buffy and Spike - they get such little public acknowledgement and it is just so nice and boyfriend-girlfriendy.

I'm gonna use Bangel moment in What's My Line Part 2 when Buffy saved Angel from Spike and Dru in that church. I know it's not a big moment but I'll never forget that look on her face. Shine in her eyes. I think she never ever had that look again, at least I didn't saw it. That picture is in my head for years and it's not coming out.

Bangel is okay even though I do prefer Spuffy, but I'll use a Bangel moment! I think the most romantic Bangel moment for me would have to be in "Surprise," when he gave her a that clatter ring and kissed it, because that was a kind of pretty scene and it would be pretty too if Spike did that with Buffy after his speech to her in "Touched," and he kissed her after that. ^^ Also, I thought we were saying what we like about our opposite ships.......?

I don't wanna swap any bangel moment (they're all cheesy) but I'd like to swap the Tillow "Can we skip this?" moment to Spuffy.

The Spuffy moment i'd steal for Bangel is when Spike see's Buffy alive again for the first time in Bargaining. When Buffys coming down the stairs and Spike thinks its just the Buffybot at first.

So I've spent a long time thinking about this because as much as I would have gone for the scene in Touched, as it's been said I wanted to think of something else.

One scene that sprang to mind was early in season six when Spike takes Buffy out and she gets drunk. I would have loved to have seen Buffy and Angel going out on the lash and having a laugh. Too many of their moments were serious and we never really got to see the out-going side of them. I know it was there, it just never got any screen time so for now that's what I'm going with 🙂

I'll swap the "Forever" moment: no words, just feeling and touching, that was totally a spuffy written scene.

I have to say, the scene in Graduation Day when Buffy forces Angel to drink from her because she couldn't let him die. I'd give anything to see that scene with Spuffy.

Angel: No.
Buffy: It's the only way.
Angel: No. - Get away.
Buffy: It'll save you.
Angel: It'll kill you.
Buffy: Maybe not. Not if you don't take it all.
Angel: You can't ask me to do that.

Hm. I agree with Joan. Although I hate that scene as a Bangel moment (I hate all Bangel moments. But this one especially. 😀 ) I would love to see it as a Spuffy moment.

Well, Spuffy got something similar or maybe better: when Spike was under The First's influence in that basement all he had was one taste of slayer's blood to break it. He could control his bloodlust (Angel couldn't and almost killed Buffy) even if we later we see him during terrible withdrawal moments.

We also saw the Master breaking mystical influence, but I can't keep myself wondering if it wasn't also a familiar taste which brought him back to reality!

Does it seem to anyone else that it's a whole lot harder to find a Bangel scene for Spike to steal than the other way around? Could that possibly be because the Spuffy scenes were always so much better than the Bangel ones? Maybe we need to accelerate the development of the Bangels Anonymous Society. It seems to be an idea whose time is long overdue.

Hmmm, a Bangel scene's not immediately coming to mind for me, probably because their relationship is so different from Spuffy. But I would love any scene where their relationship is publicly acknowledged by both Buffy and her friends. I'd love a moment where Spike wasn't the dirty little secret/sort of friend/ex-lover. A couple-y scene! Like Something Blue, but legit. Oh, yes, I'd steal a bunch of those from Bangel.

In a non-Buffy ship moment, I'm going to swap Kennedy and Tara...

The part: When Kennedy tells Willow she'll be her anchor.
Why Killow shouldn't get it: Kennedy is an awful character and is bad for Willow. This scene totally does not fit with the rest of their extended rebound relationship.
Why Tillow should get it: Tara was always Willow's anchor. Their breakup drove her off the end with magick. She was often Willow's voice of reason and comforter (as seen in The Body). TARA is Willow's anchor. Tara keeps Willow tethered. They belong together. The moment should be theirs!
