Do you think they fought "fair" in the Hellmouth with the Ubervamps? I mean without Wolfram & Hart helping them out with the amulet they wouldn't had survived
 
All's fair in love and war. Cliched but true. Besides, what was fair about a slayer and a handful of wannabes going up against thousands of Neanderthalic vampires in the first place? But like you said, their plan never would have worked without that necklace. Even all those girls at full slayer strength wouldn't have been able to take on all those vamps. And seeing as how they had no idea what that necklace was going to do they were walking in knowing they were probably gonna die. I don't see how Buffy could have really thought they stood a chance.

Judging from Buffy's reaction when she first looks down and sees all the super vamps I dont think she thought there would actually be that many.

She did have a surprised reaction. But she already saw them all in her vision.

I guess she had no other choice but to put faith in the Potentials and the scythe and hoped the surprise attack worked.
Yes they did. And even if they didn't who cares? Dead Salyers do not use anybody. They prepared for a fight just as the vamps did. I don't ee any different till the one that they used different strategies. Mass vs. magic. And I prefer fighting unfair than loosing in a fight about life or death! 😀 (Honest opinion)

There was a fairly good chance that the amulet came from someone else before WR&H got their grubby little mitts on it.
Where did it come from? Try thinking who may have wanted to stop the evil taking over the world, (points to) 'him up there'.
 
I think they fought fair. Hell, the First had already proven that all was fair in this war they were fighting, so I didn't think anything about Buffy using the spell to empower the Potentials or Spike wearing the amulet was unfair.
 
War is never fair. N the first wasnt playing "fair" with there emotions n stuff. So why does it matter ya know? 🙂
 
I agree war isn't fair the only thing that annoys me is how buffy couldn't kill the umber vamps at first then all of sudden all the potentials and humans can kill them (this is before willow using magic) but I do love the battle scene in chosen 😀
