The Beast vs The Scooby Gang

What if The Beast had been a big bad on BtVS instead of Angel? How well do you think Buffy and her friends would have fared against it? How well do you think they would have succeeded in comparison to the Fang Gang? The same, better or worse? I thought it was funny that Faith actually put up more of a fight(if you call it that) than Lorne, Angel, Gunn and Wes together. 😛

Do you think they would have tried to use a rocket launcher again? What about that fusion spell from s4? Or would they have figured out all they needed was a part of it? 🙂

Oh and magic wasn't working on it, so Willow wouldn't have been able to do anything directly.

Someone would've died. The Beast had no problem facing anyone and The Beast against the likes of Xander and Anya or even Willow would be laughable. Team Angel was badly injured and just plain lucky to not walk away without a casualty. I keep having this image of the Beast walking into the Magic Box while they have a Scooby meeting. No fricken chance!!

They'd hafta pull out the rocket launcher, or find that hammer again to at least slow him up. I dunno how they'd beat it -after all, only Angelus had a hunch on how to destroy it. Though Buffy is pretty clever, so the idea may have come to her eventually but not before he wiped out a few of the cast.

I don't know cause the Scooby Gang always seemed to find ways....I think overall they were better prepared then the Fang Gang....sometimes the Fang Gang was just confused on what they wanted to do but maybe cause LA is just a whole other Beast 😛

I think that Willow might be more effective against the Beast then people suppose. After all none of the Fang Gang had anything close to her power or experience with magic, and how much of the Beasts resistance to magic was because he was being protected by Cordy/Jasmine? I think that the Scoobies would have fared somewhat better, after all they had faced several Big Bads that came pretty close to the beast in strength and invulnerability, Glory, Adam, Olaf, and Caleb just to name a few.

The Scoobies would find a way to defeat the best eventually, but that's one of the biggest differences between the two groups, the Fang Gang has more fighters Wesley, Gunn, Angel and Connor

I guess that might be right about Jasmine protecting it. And you consider Olaf as tough as the others? 😱

I don't think the Scoobies would have fared better than the AI team against the Beast. They have less fighters, and more thinkers, as have been pointed out and tend to get wound up in their own emotional drama's. 🙂

So if anything I feel they might have done worse, even with Buffy on their side, and somebody would have gotten badly hurt before she figured out how to defeat it.

What happened to the troll hammer after S5? They might have fared a bit better if they had that and some of Willow's magic from a safe distance. Up close though, I doubt they would have done much better.

I think the Scooby Gang wouldn't have been able to do a thing lol. I mean when I think of both shows in battle I think the Fang Gang is the best in general. The Scoobies advantage is Willow and of course Buffy but I tend to think Willow is the strongest. So if she couldn't do anything I don't think anything could be done. The way the beat threw around Angel, Connor and Faith doesn't exactly give me hope for the scoobies either.

Someone would have suggested a trip to LA. That sounds like the sort of thing Spike would do for Angel.

Oh, and Willow could have used her magic, she could have created a portal. And because he is such a caring, sharing kinda guy, Spike would have paid for a one way bus ticket so that the exchange could go to see Angel.

The rocket launcher was my first thought, but I have my doubts as to whether it would have done very much more good than anything Angel and his crew tried, since, ultimately, nothing could penetrate the Beast's hide except the dagger made out of its own bone. Something tells me that Buffy wouldn't have made the same mistake that Faith did by trying to stand toe to toe, or, I guess, hoof, with it and slug it out.

Ultimately, I think hat Buffy or Giles would have figured out the same thing that Angelus did about its bone dagger, possibly hidden back somewhere in the Watcher Archives, and, if they couldn't find the actual one the way that Angelus had done, Willow would have been able to conjure up some sort of substitute. Maybe they could have found the Scythe in time, and it would have worked against the Beast., since, according to the Guardian lady, it killed the last pure demon in the world. It must, therefore, be more than just a glorified axe.

I think they would have had as much trouble with The Beast as the Fang Gang. Wes, Gunn,and Angel had no chance really. Faith still got her ass kicked by it. Buffy might have done better than Faith, but still I think she would lose to it as well. They would figure something out I would assume, whether it be a rocket launcher or some other crazy idea.

Sure, the Fang Gang has more fighters. But in this scenario against the Beast the fighters (Connor,Gunn,Wes,Angel,Faith) are useless. The Beast is too strong to be fought in hand to hand combat. What is needed in this situation is thinkers, which is where the Scooby Gang thrives. If you can't beat 'em with bronze, beat 'em with brains.
