It's really easy to put ourselves down and feel low. I've been feeling it a lot recently, I'm not sure why, but I've felt frustrated with myself. Wishing I was smarter, prettier or fitter. It has a tendancy to get me down sometimes.

So, this is a thread to try to combat that, by telling everyone what is literally the best thing about you. Be vain, be egotistical, be narcissistic, for a change. Celebrate yourself and your abilities, personality, looks, achievements etc here! 😀

Lovely thread, :)
I have no need to tell everyone what a nice person you are, you are in Black Thorn so that is a plus
and dare I or should I you how nice you are even though you live where I was born
ooh just a minute although the thread says The best of you, did you mean me? oopsie!
I'll try again later, after the Haggis murderer.

Haggis murderer here.

The best of me?

I'm not a perfect mum, but I'm a good mum (especially when well rested 😀). I pretty much spend my daughter's waking hours making her as happy as possible and making her laugh (whilst posting on here one-handed on my phone when she's eating). I went through hell with post-natal depression, and when Winter had awful silent reflux from birth to about 9 months. The doctors basically didn't believe me that there was anything wrong (with her). We ended up at a&e, blue-lighted in when she couldn't breathe. I demanded medication and a referral there and then in the hospital's a&e department and wouldn't leave until they did something. Persistence paid off and she slowly started getting better.

I can give a damn good massage and reflexology treatment. I'd say I'm better at reflexology, I really took to it at school and my tutor said I was a natural. I'd urge anyone to try a reflexology treatment (unless you don't like getting your feet touched!), it is the most relaxing experience in the world.

I've been told I look like Lizzy Caplan, Robin Tunney and Kat Dennings. I know of 2 out of 3!

I'm pretty laid back and try to get on with anyone, even life's most difficult people (especially life's most difficult people, I'm like a magnet to them). I have time for pretty much anyone and don't expect anything in return.

I give to a homeless charity every year at Christmas time, I donate in bulk to Women's Aid and you can catch me giving money to every panhandler I come across as I walk through town. I can't help not - how many times I could have been in the very same position, I would want someone to help me.

I've overcome a lot. I won't bore you with the details but my life could have went in a completely different direction if I hadn't focused and sorted myself out.

Got tears in my eyes. So pleased things are going well for you and your daughter now. You sound like a brilliant mum to me

Haggis murderer or not, you're such a star! You've been the nicest person to me on here. I find our chats very entertaining, you make me laugh! And even though you have this weird thing for Sam Rockwell, I won't hold it against you. ;-)

You're amazing!
I realised I started this thread without actually writing anything.... so here goes! 🙂

I'm nice. Like full on, nice. I'll never do anything to harm or upset anyone. I'm generally very friendly to everyone I meet. I care about people, probably more than I care about myself. I'm a good friend. If someone needs me to drive 50 miles to their house at 3am, I'd do it. I give great advice. I'm honest but I'm always diplomatic. I always try to see the two sides to every story.

I regularly give to children and animal charities, they're the two things I care about most in this world. It hurts me that there are people out there who will hurt others without any remorse.

I am beautiful. I have massive eyes and I get so many compliments on them. I have a big bum, bigger than the rest of my proportions, but I'm proud of my booty! I don't look like anyone famous much at all, I guess I'm pretty unique! I decided a few years ago to take control of my body and become fit. I'm fitter than I think I am. I'm never going to be a size 8, but that's ok. I have muscles now I didn't know even existed!

Sometimes I make myself laugh with how funny I can be. I have a very sarcastic self-deprecating style of humour, which people find hilarious. I'm not afraid to make fun of myself, or be silly, to get a laugh out of other people. I have all the weird, wacky ideas.

I know all the obscure movie trivia, everyone wants me in their quiz team. (Reigning work quiz team winners!) I amaze myself at the stuff I'll just know, about actors, movies.... I should really work for IMDB or something.... 😀

OK, now you have teased us - post a picture!
I think that I can think of some...

I am nice to other people, even if I can't stand them.

I have opinions that most people disagree with, I like that about me because it shows that I think for myself, not go blindly with the flow.

While I am usually civil, I tend to say things as they are because I hate sugar coating things (unless I have to).

When I'm with other people, I have no problem putting my phone/computer/other away for a couple of hours-using those stuff when you are with other people is kind of rude.

Get out my head... our head...

I used to be down on myself quite a bit when I was in my late teens/early twenties- I'm not very academic, college did not come easy to me and I had to work much harder than my sister to get as far as I did.
It's made worse that my sister takes after my Mum- who is a frigging brilliant doctor (surgeon actually) and seemed to breeze through her medical studies. She teased me all the time about my inapptitude, not in a mean way but just playful like sisters. But it still hurt sometimes.
I always thought of myself as stupid, not able to grasp the obvious. But I think I'm just average. I take after my Dad more- very personable.

And-I like what I do. I have a decent job and I'm well-liked in my workplace. I work hard and have a good work ethic, I put a lot of myself into what I do. But I know how and when to switch off.
I help people become more confident and feel better about themselves. I get to help people long term with their injuries if they need it, so I can sometimes get to know them a bit better.
I'm thought of as a positive/up person but not annoyingly so. I'm also a good listener and I'm good at seeing positive things in others and pointing them out. I can be funny, not in a witty/jokey way but more like playing off what somebody else says- like banter. I give good banter with almost anybody, a valuable skill!

I'm finally comfortable with my sexuality after a couple of intense relationships that went really sideways- but I learned lessons from both of them. I'm clear sighted enough that I know I wasn't blameless in either one going bad.

I'm healthy, have plenty of stamina for outdoorsy activities (and some indoorsy ones too!) and physically I'm in terrific shape .
I'm called cute more than beautiful which is fair enough, have great hair (thick, dark and glossy- easy to manage, I love it), nice eyes (two of 'em!) and have been told that I have 'spectacular' legs/stomach/butt a lot. Which is nice. lol.
I know how to defend myself- that's been a BIG confidence boost, unbelievably so really- and I know how to manage my life. I guess I finally am beginning to feel like a grown up. 🙂

I'm uber polite. I'll apologize when things go wrong to strangers even if I had nothing to do with it. LoL Got a good memory & am rather intelligent. Guess I'm kind of cute or adorkable as my friends like to say. 😛

You ARE really cute and have amazing hair! <3
I'm a pretty cruisy person. If you're in need of a meal, I'll cook you on. Need a place to stay? I've got a bed for you. Need a lift? I'm ready to rumble. Need someone to talk to? I'm here.
I like to think I'm a pretty nice person. I was part of a gay support group a few years back and started up a music group called Full On Gaze (say it out loud... Yep, I'm a genius 😛) But mainly it was people coming over to my place, eating pizza and watching movies. I was a taxi for quite a few of the crew there. Many of them got into trouble, so whether it was picking someone up, picking up supplies of food or stuff from the chemist, or if someone needed a place to stay, I was always on call. It was cool, kinda like a family.

I volunteered last year in renovating one of the house's in town for the women's refuge.

On to more personal stuff, I'm a pretty damn good musician. Particularly on drums. Sadly I had an injury a couple of years ago and can't play nearly as good as I used to, but I know I still have the knack for knowing what to play. I'm a pretty good songwriter too.

Currently I'm at my fittest level I ever have been and I'm proud of how far I've come for that. Especially my abs. They look great. I'm really enjoying learning how to defend myself with muay thai and looking forward to starting Jui Jitsu soon.

Physically, I like my hair and my eyes. My Buffy friends said a few years ago that I look like Cassie in season 7.

Gah, so many of these things are in my past due to life circumstances the past few years but...

I was an incredible teacher, and public speaker.

I threw amazing parties.

I did a lot of good writing/planning for non profits who were putting together mission statements, fund raisers, choosing new goals and doing planning for the future. I was able to sit down with all the parties and find the common threads and themes and bring people together around a common focus then help them come up with a mission statement and plan.

My kids like me a lot so I must have done something good there!

I'm a talented artist and writer. I come up with an idea and execute it well and have produced a lot of work I am proud of.

I'm fair and diplomatic.

I'm a go getter. I don't procrastinate. I don't let things stand in my way and I have a naughty streak. When my son was in high school he overheard a conversation someone was having with me and he heard them say "I dare you" he ran over and said. "Don't EVER say that to her EVER." Because yeah...there is very little I won't do for fun, to be able I said I did it, or to get a rise out of people

I've been told I'm funny and that I put people at ease.

As with most things, I think I've got better with age. I have the confidence to be who I want to be.

I like making things creatively. As a child I received so many compliments on my artistic ability I'm surprised I don't have big head about it. A visiting artist to our class actually gasped at one of my paintings, hey it was good for a 10 year old.
I had a poem published when I was 11. I can't remember it or which book it was in.
I think I'm good at picking up new skills. I took up knitting just over a year ago and can now whip up any item of clothing, and knit without looking. I grasp concepts and systems quickly, to the point where in work, my own tutorials for the computer systems were being passed around without my knowledge lol.

And to be shallow, I have a tiny waist 😀 and the face shape of one of those weird models that look like an alien. All cheekbones and jaw. I look like an alien is the nicest thing I've told myself lately ha!
