Season 2 is about right for mine. Season 3 was more consistent (no Inca Mummy Girl or Go Fish) but the highs were much higher in Season 2.

I can't believe they included Season 6 of Game of Thrones on a best seasons list. Jon's storyline made no logical sense, the writers fell in love with Ramsay and they prioritised plot over character so they could get to certain moments. Doesn't matter if the characters act like idiots or simpletons. Also, Dorne.

Deadwood could be either 2 or 3. Sopranos could be any season, it was so great.

Otherwise, surprisingly accurate for the shows I have seen.

3 for me. The Mayor is just about on a par with Angelus as the best BB ever. Its level of consistency for a 22 episode season is really quite something. Faith's switch to the darkside is a neat bit of storytelling and starts a fantastic arc for her. The build up to Graduation is a keynote for the series too.

I agree with @SES SA that the highs of Season 2 are much higher than that of Season 3, but I disagree with the article that “the most perfect stretch of Buffy episodes” is in Season 2. I love Season 2 a whole lot, but it is very inconsistent. The best stretch of episodes in Season 2 is, I think, “Surprise” through “Passion”. Season 3 almost suffers from being an embarrassment of riches, and I’ve always considered it to be the best season, though it is only my third favorite. My personal ranking is something like 523416,7 ( I used to rank Season 6 higher, but on my most recent rewatch I found myself more excited to be at Season 1 than Season 6). So I can’t really fault anybody for ranking Season 2 higher than Season 3, as Season 2 is arguably more iconic, and if I had to pick only one season to show to a Buffy virgin, it might actually be Season 2.
