So who was it?!
Was it

the Troika: Geeks, who did end up making A LOT of trouble?
Willow: ex-best friend, turned evil, and pretty darn scary!
The scoobies themselves: Causing each other so much pain!!!
Or do you have something else in mind?

Persoanlly, i think it was the troika - coz although willow has definetly been the most evil, if it wasnt for them - NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED! Lol - or maybe you think it was an impending time-bomb . . . ???

WHATEVER - POST IT HERE!

😀

actually... even though the Troika were bad, I don't really see them as being the "big Bad"

I voted for none of these. I think the "Big Bad" this season was Life. Reality. Facing the fact that whatever life throws at you, you have to deal. I mean, that really IS what the season was about.

Yeah, i see what you mean. But i think, if thats your opinion, its kinda what i was getting at by making "the scoobies" an option. I think this season was more about, yes, life and reality, but more about character development. And the most pain caused this season, was by the characters themselves to someone else. But i only voted Troika coz they started it all off: camera sees anya and spike having sex, warren kills tara, willow evil - hence EVIL EVIL WILLOW! So i dont see them themselves as the "big bad" as such, but they started all the bad things off.

gotta go with the growing up theory.responsibility etc.also dealing with buffy's ressurection ,or not dealing.i've found the troika to be a bit of a sideshow a device to play off.evil willow is just another manifestation of not dealing with responsibility.

so kinda like the characters themselves, then. I kinda agree - i think all arguments have some basis and in a way, i kinda agree with them all.

😀

I don't mean to imply that the characters themselves did it. Not at all. It was LIFE. Buffy's mom died. therefore no money, therefore nasty job. Dawn stealing... etc.

Buffy dies, brought back to life, therefore dealing with being torn from heaven, depression, sex with Spike...

Xander's parents causing him to ditch Anya at the altar, both of them dealing with pain...

It's all life. I don't believe it's the PEOPLE who are bad, it's life that throws them a curveball, and they have to take it anyway.

So your are saying just the outside influences and consequences from our life in general? Or theirs, as it happens. Its what happens to them that they have no control over, and that leads to other stuff, consequences, like a 'snowball' - i see your point 😀
Again, i kinda agree with them all a bit!

😀

By the way, love the wuote in your sig...

Buffy: What are you doing here? Five words or less.
Spike: Out - for - a - walk. Bitch.

a GREAT line.

Me too! Lol, thanks! I started a thread on spike quotes and there are some fab ones, but this one had me cracking up! 😀

Lol, back to the BUg Bad - more views?!

I totally agree with this. It wasn't Warren that directly caused Willow to become so evil. She had control over her actions, and she could have prevented herself from losing control. I understand her grief, but there are better ways of dealing with it. So, back to the point... Life. The big bad of season 7 was life.

Oh, and I'm lovin' the quote in your signature, too. Hee hee 😀

Lol, thanks again, its so funny!

Yeah, like i said, i kinda can see all points as valid arguments and Life is a good basis for a debate. It seems real and harsh and true.

Really I think that the real Big Bad was Warren.
He did most of the evil things in Season 6, including murdering Tara - which in turn, led to the creation of Dark Willow.

I suppose thats an argument too - warren started it all off, he was the catalyst to big bad willow, he killed tara. But i dont think he was really evil enough to be called the big bad. However, i suppose he, as a being with a soul, was evil neough to murder another innocent person, so . . . dunno.
Again, one of many valid arguments!

😀

My vote is definitely with the scoobies themselves. This season wasn't about facing demons but about facing themselves. Every character on the show struggled with trying to find out what they should be doing, how they should live their lives. That was the real challenge of the season, I think, not the Troika or Willow.

Totally - again, good points and arguments. everything stemmed from trouble they made themselves, directly or indirectly!

😀

You guys, this is a great topic! i love conversations like this! I like the idea of the scoddies themselves causeing the pain, but Willow, who started it all by bringing Buffy back, and ended it all with her evilness, is a part of that gang, so I don't know.

Lol, im glad my thread meets with your approval! 😉
I see your point - willow started it all (being one of the scoobies) but was it just her who was the big bad or all the scoobies, with willow just starting it? I disagree with willow ending the 'big bad' or pain - she was continuing it. IMO Xander finished it all, he (for once! GO XANDER!) got to be the hero, got to save the world!

😀

Spike lover... sorry if I sounded condescening or patronizing... I didn't mean to... and I agree with you about Xander... it WAS his doing

LoL. "Yeah well... You've got... Silly hair."

Anyway, I don't think Willow was big bad. Firstly, she was emotionally distrought and fragile after the death. Secondly, the black powers would have also been a catalyst, adding fuel to the fire. It seems like she temporarily lost her soul.

Warren would have killed many other people if he wasn't stopped, I doubt any jail could hold him for a long time due to his genious and knowlege of magic. He would have eventually gotten away again and hurt many people.

That's my story and i'm sticking to it. lol. I guess i'm trying to make excuses, defending Willow.
