The Buffy/Angel movie casting game

If you could cast your favourite Buffy and Angel actors to reprise a role from a classic film then which would it be. Yes it is time to drag that dreaded word out again, REBOOT!!😱 But don't worry its just for a bit of fun. Here are my choices.

Sarah Michelle Gellar as Catherine Tramell in Basic Instinct (she showed in Cruel Intentions that she can do icey and seductive very well).

Alyson Hannigan as Annie Hall in Annie Hall (comedy is maybe her strongest suit, and I can see her dry delivery and energy working well in this sort of role).

David Borenaz as Neo in the Matrix (he would kick ****in' arse in this role😎).

Nicholas Brendon as Det. Pep Streebek in Dragnet (maybe not quite the smooth ladies man that Hanks pulled off in the role, but I think would bring a lot of quicked witted comedy to it and can see him as a cop).

James Marsters as Hans Gruber in Die Hard (would be right up his streak, he has the anicent for it too).

Alexis Denisof as Jack Traven in Speed (actually think he would improve on KR who was the weak link in the original IMO).

Charisma Carpenter as Annie in Speed (Wesley and Cordy back together again at last😛 I can see a lot of Bullock in CC too🙂).

Amber Benson as Laurie Strode in Halloween (I'm guessing this will meet with mixed reviews, but I think AB has that very down to earth, smart, shy and tough thing down nicely).

Michelle Trachtenberg as Cher in Clueless (a natural fit me thinks!).

Sarah as Lucy Muir
James as Capt Daniel Gregg
David as Miles Farley
Charisma as Mrs Farley
Anthony as Mr Sproule
Alyson as Anna Muir (adult)
Nicholas as Bill (Anna's Fiance)
As for the others, they can just have to be satisfied playing the various support roles.

Now you're gonna have to go find the movie and watch it just to see who played who. And, believe me, you'll love it.

Actually, I was going to go with "John Carter," but since the thread specified a "classic" movie, I didn't think that the Warlord would fit that description. If it had said a classic NOVEL, that would have been a different story. (I do think that David would make a good Matai Shang. Or maybe Mors Kajak. He doesn't have the scope of acting ability to play Woola)

"John Carter" is like John Wayne's 1960 production of "The Alamo," itself a box office flop when first released, but now ranked as a great adventure story and American Western classic. It will have to be watched with some foreknowledge of the source material, before can be truly appreciated. Too many people see it as a blatant rip off of "Star Wars," and "Avatar," when the truth is, Lucas and Cameron actually, by their own admission, were greatly influenced by Burroughs' characters. Yes, "John Carter" COULD have been better, but, even as it was, it SHOULD have been appreciated more.

Not seen it so it could have been a masterpiece for all I know. Just the reviews were so bad, and they throw way too money at it, and also thought Station was an odd choice to direct so I pretty much came down on the side of it is going to suck😀

If the subject interests you, read "John Carter And The Gods Of Hollywood" by Michael Sellars. It gives real insight into what really went wrong, and how it could probably have been avoided.
