In every generation a forum is born. It alone can stand against the trolls, spammers and the Charmed fans. It is the Buffy-Boards.
And that’s how it all began folks. This safe haven of Buffydom began seven years ago and as the Buffy-Boards birthday approaches the time has come to prepare for the celebrations. As our older member are aware our way of celebrating BB’s Bday is The Buffies. Our very own awards ceremony where we honour our members for their contributions to our community throughout the past year. This years ceremony will take place here on the Buffy-Boards on February 7th 2009 at 7 PM GMT and the nominations start NOW!
We will be following the format of last year where you the members nominate your BB peers and then an…uh…esteemed panel of judges comprised of staff and trusted members will decide on the winner.
The categories are as follows:
Storyteller - Best fanfic posted (or completed)in 2008. (Just to ad to this guys-Submissions to the BB Ficathon will not be eligible for nomination this time around as they are being posted in 2009 but they will be fine for next year😉)
Sunnydale Art Gallery - Best piece of artwork posted in 2008.
L'il Pumpkin Belly - Cutest member or post in 2008. (Mods are excluded from this category)
Xander/Anya - Funniest LOL BB moment - thread or post in 2008 – it could be one single post or series of back and forth between members-it just has to be funny HAHA.
Doyle - Most missed member (Banned members are excluded from this category)
Class Protector - Most helpful/supportive member (Mods are excluded from this category)
Faith - Coolest member of 2008 (Mods are excluded from this category)
Giles - Biggest Buffy/Angel expert,clever-clogs, know-it-all (Mods are excluded from this category)
Andrew - Best RPG "actor" or "actress" of 2008.
Goldenboy – This award is for the member who displayed BB spirit at its finest in 2008.(Mods are exluded from this category).
* Please PM me or Lyri with your nominations before Midnight GMT on Tuesday 13th January. Nominations will not be accepted after this point.
* You do not have to nominate a person in every category but I would ask that you send all your nominations together: it makes it a lot easier for Lyri and I to sort through.
* You can only nominate one person per category and for the love of God do not nominate yourself. It is more than a little embarrassing and very not funny😉
*As you can see there are certain categories that Mods are exempt from taking part in. Since they are brand new to the team Lindsey McDonald, Palabravampiress, NIX, Lou and Tranquility will all be eligible for nominations in every category this year and will not take part in the judging process of any category they are nominated in.
* In the same vein any member of the panel who is nominated in a category will have the option of declining the nomination or refrain from judging that category.
* Nominations for the Storyteller, Andrew and Sunnydale Art Gallery Awards should be accompanied by a link of a thread/post of an example of the work you are nominating-it really helps with the judging😉
