The Buffy Events in "The Girl In The Question"

All I remember is that it was Andrew's idea, because he's a dick. As far as timeline goes though, I don't know.

I thought that we were told at one time early in the season that the events of Season 8 took place between a year and 18 months after the fall of Sunnydale, which would mean the "The Girl In Question" took place well before Issue 1 of Season 8.
And just on the subject of that episode, am I the only one who thinks that the final scene, when Dana is taken away from Angel by the other slayers should have had Xander, rather than Andrew, as their leader? That whole "Buffy doesn't trust you anymore, Angel," was something that he would most definitely have said, but it just didn't work as well with Andrew, especially the way that he had been acting so goof ball Watcher wannabe through the rest of the episode. That last scene would have been perfect if he, as well as Angel and Spike, had had no idea that it was coming until it actually happened.

You're actually recalling a different episode than the one the OP is refering to. But I agree nevertheless, it should've been Xander.

I agree... I think that scene would have worked a lot better with anyone but Andrew delivering that line. Bluh...

I hated when Andrew said that to Angel in Damage! And tricking Angel and Spike in The Girl in Question.
He does NOT speak for Buffy. I bet Buffy doesn't even know what he told them. She probably only knows that he met with them.
I can imagine Andrew having been in league with Giles. Ever since Giles realized that Buffy was or could be the Slayer in the End of Magick prophecy, he started to act differently with Buffy and to keep secrets.

I really hate that episode. I'm pretty sure that, that took place before Season 8. But ugh...everything about it was so ridiculous haha. I like Andrew, but his little speech annoyed me. I also hated how the scoobies totally turned on Angel when he joined W&H. I doubt they knew much about it. I mean, did they really believe that Angel, with a soul, would just join an evil law firm for kicks? I mean, just to be evil...? So many things about that season piss me off.

Man Angel was a boys club that last season! Not only do the titular character and his cumbersome comedic foil have to have some sort of obligatory buddy-road trip episode irrelevant to the yet to be determined plot but they have to chase a goofy extra in a bad wig. But it seems that its subsequent retcon might have been because they didn't know they were being canceled yet. But even if that hadn't been the case... it was too blatent and attempt to plug James Marster. I felt like they were shoving caricature Spike down my throat the whole episode and I'm a Spuffy for pete's sake.

I can't help it. I love it. As a extremly silly and funny episode. If you think about the storyline more carefully it's a different thing but whenever I watch the sillyness just win me over.

While I think it was actually Giles' words Andrew said, but even if it was Buffy's, I understand their point of view. W&H was evil, and they hadn't seen Angel for years. It didn't seem like Buffy ever knew him well, back in Sunnydale when he was pretty distant, so why should they trust him, knowing that he on occasion lost his soul? Even people who actually knew him thought he was corrupted. Which he kind of was.
I am pissed of at Andrew though. He had worked with them, talked to them, and I don't understand why he didn't believe that they were doing good work. I suspect that when Andrew joins a group, wherther it be the troika or the scoobies, he becomes desperate to fit in, and simply won't go against the group he's in. I mean, the way he said it was so pompous, like he felt filled with a purpose and thus felt he had the right to act that way.

Right, to be on topic; It takes place way before season 8, since even ATF was before Season 8.
