There were many sad moments that tear our hearts in the Buffyverse. Which one do you find THE saddest?

Personally I think it's no contest - when Buffy is lying dead on the pile of debris at the end of The Gift as her shattered friends move toward her.
And on a side note: absolutely sensational acting by James Marsters in this scene.

Yer the whole of The Body is heartbreaking, as are those last few scenes in The Gift with Buffy's speech, the jump into the portal when we know she will die and when her friends find her - and then that ending on the grave! Tears!!!!!
I also think scenes in Passion are some of the saddest - when Giles finds Jenny dead on her bed with the background La Boheme music, when willow and Buffy get the news, when Giles and Buffy collapse in the alleyway and when Giles and Buffy are by Jenny's grave at the end when Giles says 'In my years as... Watcher... I've buried... too many people. But Jenny was the first I've loved' with the Remembering Jenny theme ( the hums in that song by ASH are so heartbreaking!!)
There's also that moment in Becoming Part II when Close Your Eyes comes on and Buffy gives Angel that kiss before she stabs him! Her face when he's reaching out to her - gives me chills everytime!!
Doyle's death in Hero is also up there as is Darla staking herself in Lullaby and when she says, 'this child, Angel, it's the one good thing we ever did together. The only good thing. You make sure to tell him that.'

Oh no, I can't just choose one!
1. "The Gift". You knew that Buffy would be coming back, and yet, you still mourned the death with her friends.
2. "The Body", or would that be "Forever"? I'm not sure, but I lost my dad when I was a baby so the the end of the storyline where Dawn conjured her mother back and Buffy and her were fighting and then their [dead] mother knocked on the door with Buffy saying, happily-sort-of "Mom!" and then Dawn broke the spell. Anyway, it ended with the Summers sisters crying into each other's arms which kind of hit a sore spot with me.
3. "This Year's Girl" or "Who Are You?". Reasons stated above, I really felt for Faith when she found out her 'father' was dead.
4. S6 finale [Can't think of the name]. I absolutely hated the fact that Willow and Buffy were battling against each other. I really hate when friends fight, so I was pretty much beside myself the whole time. I was really devestated.

The end of You're Welcome. I cried so, almost embarassingly, hard. I cried until my face went numb, you know like how your leg feels when it falls asleep, well like that. Ever happen to you? Happened to me.

Becoming: Part II, from when Buffy realizes she has to kill Angel to the scene with her on the bus. I. Always. Cry. And I am not a crier.

also, i find the end of "wild at heart" when oz leaves and then the end of "new moon rising" when he leaves again just gut-wrenching. "oz, don't you love me?" "my whole life, i've never loved anything else."
oh and then fred's death and that whole scene with wesley in "a hole in the world"
and for me, the end of "shells" when they play that song and look back at fred leaving home. i sobbed.

The episode made me so sad! It showed how reallydesperatly and afraid Buffy was about being a Slayer! This scene with Gliles, when he gave her drugs to stop her Slayer strenght for a dangerous test, I think both characters developed a lot in this episode!

For me I think it's not so much Tara's death (though that one comes at a close second) but when Dawn comes home and finds Tara's body on the bedroom floor and later when Buffy finds her still in there because she didn't want Tara to be alone. Oh that just breaks my heart, for one of those few moments where I tolerate Dawn this is one of them, because she's just a kid and it's too much for her to bear (and because it makes me sad that Willow was so revenge filled that she just abandoned her dead girlfriend's body with little care)
Then (again a Dawn moment, hm weird) but in "The Body" when Buffy tells her their mother has died. It's extra painful because we don't hear what is said, we don't need to, we just see the breakdown. That always brings a tear to my eye cause again, I'm like - she's just a kid! Poor girl.

Willow My Love
I feel so bad for Dawn when Willow makes fun of her for grieving Joyce, Buffy, and Tara. "Mom, Buffy, Tara, wah..." I actually wanted to slap Willow and defend Dawn there...
For me, it'd have to be "The Body" because that whole episode is just heartbreaking, and "A Hole in the World" always gets to me as well.
A lesser mentioned moment I've noticed that really upsets me though, is in "Conversations With Dead People", when Willow thinks she's talking to Tara and Cassie tells her Tara is crying, and just seeing how upset poor Willow is, saying how the hole in her heart is not getting any better. Just all the Willow scenes in that episode really make me feel bad for her. 🙁

There are a lot of devastating moments (and entire episodes - Innocence for example) but the Becoming Part II scenes where Buffy has to kill Angel and is later seen leaving Sunnyday, with 'Full of Grace' playing, killed me the first time I watched them - and, 12 years worth of re-watches later, it ALWAYS has the exact same effect :'( .... It's like my classic, ultimate BtVS sad moment.
