The Calender

It's here in case someone wonders what I'm on about.

I'm a bit torn about the issue but I guess having an answer to begin with might help.

It's about dorm activities/events. Would it be possible for the prefekts of each dorm to put in the events that will be on the boards, and not simply in the dorms? An example. VH will be doing VH boo once again this year. Could something like that be in the calander? Not because we don't want others to have Halloween banners or such but we got plans for other upcoming events and with the planning it would be a little sad/boring if another dorm did the same thing. If I remember correctly Drogyn had their christmas in the summer of something. Maybe they'd be flattered if all the dorms did the same thing but maybe they want it to be exclusive for Drogyn. If we put stuff like that up in the calander it'll be easy to check to see if someone have had the same idea.

On the other hand it's fun to surprise the other members. So I'm back to being torn. But if you say that we can't put house events on the calander you'll save me a whole lot ot thinking. 😉

Totally disagree. I think part of the fun of the dorms is the element of surprise. Everyone being able to group together and 'bam!' hit the boards with a whole bunch of pride.

Also - what 'issues' are there at the moment with the dorms? I didn't think there were any?

I completely agree with you here Cait. It's a lot of fun to surprise people...especially for us Raideners...many of you thought we'd still be sleeping eh? lol

Which is the reason for me thinking about making it public. I'm still torn. I love the surprise of a dorm coming up with something great but being "copycats" even if you thought of something first isn't much fun either.

I just think that dorm pride should be a little bit more tangible. In Drogyn we don't plan things very far in advance, we chat in our tea bar, and someone makes up banners and that's it. It's part of what makes us a unique and fun dorm. I like it about Drogyn. No strict regulations, just a party!

Well we're not planning as much as it may sound. We're just overflowing with ideas. And boy do you want us to sound boring. Strict regulations? Jeez. How big are the chances of you doing the villain thing if we hadn't done the hero thing? No, don't answer that. Don't take me the wrong way though. I love that kind of thinking (making responces to what others are doing).

I'm sure we hadn't got any comments what so ever about taking after Drogyn if we'd gone ahead with our villain month. 😉 Should it matter? Maybe not, but as I said it kind of takes the fun out of it. That said we might still go ahead with it.

Go for it! Villains are a huge part of the Buffyverse, so it's hardly an original idea. As I said, and no pun intended with my banner of the moment, but we won't care! We just wanna have fuuuun!

We thought we were just being silly and funny coming up with a retort to your Hero's month, but if you have all taken offence then I'm sorry! Didn't mean to piss anyone off or put your plans out.

I don't think anyone is offended. I sure know I aint. As I said I like that you did a responce to us. So I can agree with silly and funny. In a good way. 🙂 We want all dorms to show a lot of pride.

Having villains as a theme might not be that original but you got to admit that having it right after or even at the same time as someone else is pushing it a bit. But sure, we can decide that we'll go through with it once we're done with VH boo. I know just who I want on my banner. Rarely going by the obvious choice. But then again if you know me it's kind of obvious. Oh well. Look at me talking nonsense. I better stop and get myself some breakfast.

I think I'm falling more on the side of not announcing Raiden's plans to completely overtake the board on a calendar. At least not a public calendar.

Seems to me that other houses have VH quaking in their boots...

I like the idea of a BB Richter Scale. I wonder if it can tell the difference between our quaking and us rockin's the boards.
