The set will contain the same discs that have already been released (same extras, transfers and commentary tracks), though the artwork may be different. This set also comes with a special bonus disc containing a brand new documentary featuring Joss Whedon. Each box will be individually numbered, and will contain a signed letter (machine reproduced) from Joss Whedon, and a comprehensive book filled with episode listings and memorable Buffy quotes. The letter, bonus disc, and booklet won't be available anywhere else.

🙂 🙂 🙂 Three smilies aren't even enough. I know the Ukers have gotten something similar for both shows but this set is different. It comes with the extra disc and art. I'm SO buying this.

I hope a similar set will be made for Angel and both will also be brought to the R2 market, if not I'll have to stick to the regular complete series set.

I like the art on this one more than the regular one, but I must say that I don't like how characters like Tara, Anya, and Dawn aren't on the side; they are IMHO more important than Cordelia and Oz.
 
I've only ever bought the season 2 dvd and I don't like the packaging on it, it tends to scratch discs. So i'll definatly be getting this one.

Agree... But yeah, still looks great even though I'll never buy this I wish I could 'cause gah it's pretty 🙂

Where is this being sold? I love the package, very cool looking altho I do agree with whoever said Tara et al. should be on it, too.

You know I didn't even think about that. I was so elated that Dawn wasn't included that I forgot about my outrage over Tara. I think the picture choice was because it represents more core Buffy. Faith wasn't even included.

It also represents how Buffy started out, and I think the later seasons should have the focus!

Iono as I recall ratings went down after 3 and never fully recovered.
My favorite seasons are later Buffy but marketing wise I can see why the art is that way. Still odd not to include Eliza Dusku.
 
Region 2 is getting a complete Angel set in October, so you guys in the US will soon, I think.

The Chosen Collection box is very nice, better than the UK complete box-set.
 
I would buy this since I only have seasons 1-3 of Buffy and buying the rest seperately will cost me more anyway.I really like the box art.
 
I already have all seven seasons separately...what would be the point?

But it is very pretty...I am lusting after it. If they do something like this with Angel, I'm selling my DVD sets and buying it.
 
I only have Buffy 1-6 on video (& 7 on DVD) so it's tempting. I don't watch Buffy often though (compared to Angel/Firefly) and I doubt that the extras would interest me much.

I hope they don't do an Angel Boxset with cool extras too. I already have all the DVDs and I don't wan't to rebuy then all.

With internet speeds predicted to rocket and large hard drives getting cheaper, I don't think it will be long before DVDs can be widely legally downloaded, so maybe somewhere will sell just the extras.
 
Urgh im annoyed, I prefer this box set art than the R2 one I have, plus the extra disk. Might wait before buying the R2 Angel one then.
 
The artwork looks great, i agree it does look better than the r2 one and the extra disc sounds cool. I've got a question though.. (sorry if it's a stupid question or the wrong forum/thread/etc!: totallyo ) but the new r2 buffy boxset that's being released in the uk at the end of october, is it going to be limited edition like the firstone? Or easily available? Just wondering if i should be saving up... Thanks for any help x
 
It's so tempting to even think about buying it. But I'll just stick to what I got.

Since I got 4 for free. Which is funny because I tryed to buy them. They scanned but the register didn't charge me for them. So I walked away with them for free. Which I didn't know til I got in my car to drive home.
 
I thought the design of the box was kinda fugly. The pics used on the box are from like season 1, except from the pics of Oz and Spike that they photoshoped in to the rest of the gang. They could at least have used pics from I dunno, season 6 or 7? Urgh and the pictures on the side... Plus for the red on top tho. Kinda pretty.

The R1 boxes are MUCH prettier than this box. But of of course, they are trying to appeal to that consuming-crazed, weak-spot inside of us with all those extra features that are new and/or "never seen before". Even I could fall for that.
