This is a thread for all my fellow CoAers that joined this site before or after the day of its death.

I know we all talk, but I just wanted to start a discussion group to catch up.
How are things?
Have you found another forum to fill the void?

Thankfully BB was up and running before we left(LONG before years infact) so that we all had a place to mix.

Any characters from that site you miss? Any that you are thankful you won't see anymore *cough* Oni Tenshi Rune *cough*?

Actually to start it off, there was one thing I remembered.

Do you guys remember when Angels Acolyte(i think that was it, Dzhugash if you read this, help us out would ya) had the Cordelia quote and the guy, Tony went in uproar because it had the word Retard in it. Ohh how we laughed at that moronic fool, but I have to say I was surprised that SueAngel pandered, I mean it was an Angel site yet AA was censored....honestly, I think reasons like that were why it was closed.
 
hey fellow CoA'ers! just to state, i joined this site WAY before CoA closed, as did Al, if memory served. this site is far better! lol

i'm competely convinced that the debate about AA's quote was the kick off for SueAngel to close the board. i mean, she had us all censored to hell anyway, so there really wasn't much point in keeping the place open.
i remember the fight though, and how everyone got an email from SVA (Kryptonite to everyone who doesn't know) asking us all to change our locations or quote or whatever it was, to the quote that started the whole thing, and everyone was running around with 'You're smarter than you look. Of course you look like a retard' as their location. for the record, i think SueAngel was completely wrong to bend to the wishes of Tony. just because one person took offense to a post doesn't mean that person should be punished for it. (hey, i'm sticking up for AA! who saw that coming! lol)
remember when PM's were banned? no one could have any private conversations. if we had to ask anyone anything, we had to fit it into an active thread and pray that whoever you were trying to reach read your post!
CoA was definietely the wackiest website i've ever meen a memeber of!
 
Yeah. Aradhus was more tempestuous as he is here, he was adored by everyone some weeks and hated the rest.
But this incident, not many knew AA was Aradhus and alot of people, including myself, didn't like him BUT we all stood together on that, which is why I think the board owners began questioning its point.

It was revealed that the MODS were doing what they pleased. The amount of times I got in trouble for comments(I know, can you believe it) and Oni would look the other way when her friends said worse.

i knew AA was Aradhus when all that stuff kicked off. someone told me. i thought it was you, Al, but apparently it wasn't. myabe it was SVA?
i don't know why everyone banding together against the mods made SueAngel shut the site down (can't you just see that sarcasm? lol) i know most of us had our run ins with Ardhus/whatever else he was known as over there, but i think most of us jump to his defense was because they were trying to censor an Angel quote on an Angel website...i thought that was nuts. lol, i remember every time i came back to the site to see what had happened when i was gone, AA had a different quote up...and it just got nastier as the 'discussion' went on. the last one i remember before the site closed was the Angelus quote from S4 'I could use it on you when i rape you to death'
that was going a little too far for my tastes.

i agree with thw stuff about Oni too...she was definitely guilty of looking the other way when it came to people like VG (vampgirl, not Visionguy!) and all her other little friends. but when it came to me and you, we got the holy hell beaten out of us, figuritvely speaking, if we didn't agree with something she said. i had a HUGE agrument with her once. it lasted for weeks, but i honestly couldn't tel you what it was about!
 
I love when people agree with my opinion but they distance themselves from me. "I never thought it would happen but I agree with Dzhug!"

That argument was horrible, everybody took "my side". Morons. I did try rectify the situation, but there aren't that many really twisted quotes short enough to fit in a location.

I had "Auschwitz - Working a big oven" for a while. Nothing to do with the show, I just thought it was funny.

something to do with people 'misusing them' make of that what you will, but i think everyone figured it out, pretty much.
 
Yeah, they were closed due to misuse.
First off they were closed for a month, then came back then bam they were closed permanently.

Ahhh there were some good times too.

it was fun...mostly! i mean, that's where i first met Al and Dzhugashvili, and JC and Kryptonite and Arabella and Angel'sVision and W_W_P and Seppe (i miss Seppe!)
we had some pretty good times over there. there was a load f different forums for different topics, like there is here, but it wasn't so well organized and we spent most of our time in the common area, Caritas, playing games, like either/or.
 
I was a member there for a while, and I think I only posted in forum like twice. I was lady_shobu over there for a little while. Now...yea. Not really caring.

But it sounded like a real craphole. Seriously. I'm sure you guys made friends and everything, but it sounds like the place was run by a bunch of idiots. I'm glad they rebelled. They must have really messed up to have everyone hate them that much.
 
OMFG! you were lady_shobu? i was fighting with someone over there and you came to my defense!! i cannot believe that! i am in TOTAL SHOCK!!

and yeah, towards the end, the place did become a little blah...i was pretty much a lurker at the end, i was too busy posting here. i only went back to see Al and Kryptonite and JC.
 
The ONLY reason someone could 'love love....LOVE' Oni Tenshi Rune is if they were Japanese and loved the smell of raw fish.....or admittedly, lesbian.

The problem I had with the place was that if one of the MODS did disagree with something you said it would be changed, moved or closed.

Here there is at least freedom to an extent(there has to be rules).

There were some great characters there and for the most part they came here, but I gotta say, the best time I ever had on that board was the last day.
 
i missed the last day! i had an exam at school, and when i came back, the place was closed!
 
Honestly...I miss the fights. 🙄🙄

Oh and calling people a silly name in black font so they could only read it if they highlighted my post... I'm easily amused.

The only thing that bugged was that Oni was a mod so she could play dirty.
 
yeah, Oni pissed everyone off. Seriously, how many people had a thread closed by Oni 'casue she didn'tlike the subject?
i posted something in the BTVS forum, something about why i didnt like the Potenitals ithink, or maybe Kennedy, i can't remember, and she closed it 'cause apparently it was bound to turn nasty or something.
 
Yeah, the Smelly Bitch would be the only MOD on at night(cause she was Canadian and the rest were UK) so she'd post comments, or her friends would post comments then she'd let us read them and delete before she left.

The log of deleted comments wasn't timed on CoA so she got away with it.

I wasn't at that place long. I had some arguments with AL, in which i would always get my ass kicked. 🙂 But yeh..

And i remember a religious debate with Aradhus when i first got there I think..

And of course I remember the MANY RPGs at the end. There were like 8 going at once at one time...and it always ended with me and SVA(Kryptonite) being the only ones rping...heh heh.

And i remember one time where someone came into the middle of our rp, and they sucked so i kicked them out, and they decided to revert to 5-year-old name calling.

Spikes Angel, Hellonearth and Shanshuvampangel all posting pictures of pretty women and saying things like "oooh" and "aaah".

One of my earliest memories of you were when Xander "grassed" me up for doing something, I don't remember what. He posted it in that first forum, whatever that was called, and you said something about it was like him raising his hand to rat somebody out to the teacher. It wasn't that, but whatever it was it was ****in' funny.

Anyone remember, I think her name was Fred? She posted once that she was suicidal..

Probably not a debate, probably me taking potshots at Christianity and you defending your faith.

I think I remember that, I think the first thing I probably said to you was what the hell was up with your name. Not that the name particularly annoyed me, it was just an odd name to have. It was much better than the one you have now, though.

If I remember correctly, you had this god awful timing in that 'post something about the previous poster' topic.

Just realised I've used the word remember more times in this post than I have done my entire life.

Dude...weird. Seriously freakin' weird. I remember all the fighting and something someone said really pissed me off, and I snapped off someone for some reason...I don't even remember the reason why, and I don't think I ever bothered the visit the thread again after that. Hmmm.
