the coolest celeb you've ever seen...

I met Jordi Villasuso (One of the stars of the soap opera the Guiding Light) when I worked in the airport. He was the sweetest! And he travelled so often he began to know me on a first name basis. Jordi also played an initiative soldier in the buffy Season 4 Episode Primevil....my closest contact to a Buffy star up until my best friend sat next to SMG at this years Glamour awards...

Mo Collins (she talked to everyone in a writing program I was in), Chris Rock (saw him on the elevators at the Beverly Hills Mall), Danny Bonaduche (saw him at Borders) and that blonde guy from Boston Public (saw him outside Daily Grill in Beverly Hills).
Also, in the writing program I was in, Sarah Fain (writer for Angel) was it, but I never met her.

I had three of these so-called celebrity encounters back in 1988, when I had this temporary security guard gig in the Marriott Marqius Hotel here in Manhattan....working for the theater the hotel had on the second floor....which at the time was showing a play called "Me And My Girl".

One evening, as I stood on that floor giving directions or what have you........Regis Philbin and his wife Joy walk up to me to ask for the proper entrance to the theater.

"How ya doin' kid? Is it this way to the theater?" He says to me.

Well, me being the calm, collected sort, I coolly replied "Uhh, y...YEAH...I mean, yessir....Mr. Philbin...it's just through that glass d....door."

He gives me a quick smile and an "Ok, great...thanks kid!", and off they went.

In that same hotel about three months later, I brushed past actress Lori Singer as I was getting off the elevator and she was getting on.

And former porn star Vanessa Del Rio ( the older gents of the Board MIGHT know who I'm talking about...lol) once asked me for directions to one of the hotels' restaurants.

I had no more such "encounters" until the summer of 2002 in the TRIBECA section of Manhattan, when former "Dawson's Creek" star Michelle Williams and whom I presume was her boyfriend stood about five feet to my right while we all stood on a curb waiting to cross the street. This was about a block away from North Moore Street, where John Kennedy Jr. used to live.

I've hung with Lucinda Williams, Doug Sahm (co-hosted a radio show with me once), Ryan Adams, the Mavericks, Iris DeMent, Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Marty Stuart, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Rodney Crowell, Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock, Tom Russell, Rev. Billy C. Wirtz, Robert Keen (took him and his wife fishing), Carlene Carter.

I've met a few actors: Michelle Pfeiffer, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jackie Chan. Couple more I can't think of offhand.

Should try and be less of a shut-in.

Well In 99 I was visiting family in denver co and we went up to Vail to go ski. Well we were at the lodge and there was Devon Sawa. (My uncle met Cameron Diaz he was hes ski instructor)
durring the olympics (sp?) my fam was eating dinner in Park City Utah and we saw Shane West come in at the same time but i didnt talk to him.
I was at a concert a few days ago for Vanness Wu and I was in the front row and he gave me his hand and also handed me a CD and through out most of the concert he kept on looking down at me (probaly thinkin....'whats this white chic doin here....oh wait she looks a little asian lol'") Hes very very sexy in person ^_^

I haven't really met any celebs besides some bands that probably not alot of people know, but my grandma works at the Princeville hotel on Kauai... where all the celebs stay if they go there. She works in entertainment, and then a friend of the fam works as head of security there... so he meets even more celebs. Including the cast of Friends when they stayed there for Matt Leblanc's wedding.

OK - Doyle's winning so far IMO (I hadn't heard of all of your muso names but recognised a few and the movie list is very good - or were those the people in the films you watched last week 😉 - jealous, moi?) Old Master has the coolest story though, with his porn star...

Racking my brains about celebs I've met and I'm only coming up with '70's Brit glam rocker Roy Wood (the Move, Wizzard, ELO original founder) who I chatted to briefly when he visited the Student Union office I worked at - in connection with a gig he was doing there - nice man. Oh, I met the band 10cc once backstage after one of their gigs. I met lots of minor Z-list Brit punky and folky types in my college days but none of them are household names - especially twenty-odd years later...
