OMG! Edward Furlong is going to be the Crow guy this time? Wow...I had no idea...I am still not happy about any one beyond the frst and refuse to accept them as sequals in the same class as the original but I will watch it for some of these people in it...I know David will have to be in a lighter roll at some point but I really like him better when he's bad...so I'll be seein' this one.

Short interview with our smart vampire Angel..about prayers, crows and hair!

Fans who've tuned in to the fifth season of The WB's Wednesday-night drama "Angel" may have noticed a new look for star David Boreanaz, who plays the title character, a do-gooding vampire with a soul.
After many years with a short, spiky, gelled 'do, Angel now sports a smooth, combed-back style. "Just a little slicker look for him," Boreanaz says.

Part of the makeover was inspired by the actor's look when he came back from summer hiatus. Those who attended The WB's summer press party in July saw a buff Boreanaz with swept-back long hair, fresh off the set of "The Crow: Wicked Prayer," the fourth film in the "Crow" franchise, due out in 2004.


"It was longer than that in the movie," he says. "It was really untamed."
Boreanaz plays Luc Crash, the leader of a satanic biker gang who murders a young man named Jimmy Cuervo (Edward Furlong) and his girlfriend, Lily (Emmanuelle Chriqui), as part of a ritual to turn Crash into an immortal demon (honestly, wouldn't it just have been easier for Angel to bite him?).

In true "Crow" tradition, Cuervo rises from the dead to take revenge. Tara Reid, Dennis Hopper and Macy Gray also star.

"I was a bad guy," Boreanaz says. "He was the leader of [this gang called] The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, an ex-con. It was great. I had a lot of fun. It was a hard-paced film. We shot in 23 days. It was not an easy shoot.

"But from what I hear from the trailer, it looks great. I've seen a little bit of dailies, I'm happy. Dimension Films is happy. It could breathe some good life into a franchise that's been dead for a while."

Although Angel is usually a good guy, every now and then he loses his soul for a while, and Boreanaz gets to let his bad boy out. In "Wicked Prayer," it was his full-time job.

"He was more than a villain," Boreanaz says. "I liked the dialogue; I liked the setting; I liked the script. I just really liked the role. It was juicy. I like being bad. He's two different guys. He's an ex-con that becomes the Antichrist, so you've got two different roles that you're playing."

Besides, it meant that Boreanaz didn't have to figure out what to do with himself between seasons of "Angel."

"I'm trying to fill in the gaps as best as I can," he says. "I enjoy it. Look, I love the work, and I love working. I can go on vacation for about a week, and that's it. I'm bored. There's only so much swimming you can do or recreational sport. You just gotta keep going."

Thats cool, but no doubt I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD before I see it (guessing its gonna be an 18 in the UK). What is David wearing in the first pic??

We have a follow up to our news last week in regard to Wicked Prayer. First off, let us repeat that according to the production staff of the film, it is going to be a theatrical release. The reports of a direct to video release was either information based on what happened with Salvation, or just a guess by the Dimension rep that reported it.

We were contacted today by a frequent visitor of our site, Azrael, who had some news to back up the claims of the Wicked Prayer production staff that the film is indeed scheduled to hit theaters. Azrael's girlfriend works at a local theater. Her boss is a huge fan of The Crow. When Azrael informed him of the news we reported last week, the theater manager contacted his local regional manager to get confirmation. According to the regional manager, they were under the impression that Wicked Prayer was still intended to be a theatrically released film. The regional manager, to make sure, contacted Dimension Films. He was told by Dimension that the film is indeed scheduled for a theatrical release and for us to look for it hitting theaters late summer/early fall.

This is great news and confirms what we have been told by the production staff. I made a comment last week that no film franchise has gone direct to video and then back to theatrical release. Actually, there has been a franchise that did this, and did it recently. Universal Soldier started out with a theatrical release. Then the second film went directly to TV/video. The third film returned to theaters a few years back, with Van Damme and Goldberg starring. So this goes to prove that film franchises can return to the theater after going direct to video. All indications are that this will happen with the Crow franchise. Keep checking our news for the latest on this.

Well, I hope it'll be a hit, but I'm afraid it won't do too well, as the story sounds really lame.
