The Crow: Wicked Prayer

There has only been one crow movie that has been worthwhile and that was the first one. The rest seriously pale in comparison with the acting, storylines direction and passion. The Crow (the original one) is my all time favourite movie, so i've very picky about the followings of it. I'm sure that Rayne and myself could fill up pages and pages of discussion about it. But I shall refrain before I start to go into a ranting mode.
 
It is not known when the actual release date of this movie will be, only that it will be during the first quarter of 2004.

The Crow: Wicked Prayer ~~

After Luc Crash and his gang, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, murder ex-con Jimmy Cuervo and his girlfriend, Jimmy comes back to life as The Crow. Crash killed Cuervo as part of a ritual to become an immortal demon, and the Crow must battle Crash, the Four Horsemen and the devil itself.

I also will agree with Faith and Rayne.......no one was more suited to the role of the Crow than BRANDON LEE. He IS the Crow! And I don't acknowledge any of the sequels after I saw the first sequel out of curiosity. It was utter elephant shyte.

There was a small article in the latest issue of the Angel mag #2 where David said that he feels this is the most exciting film of the Crow franchise, and until he was offered the role he had no idea there was a franchise. However I do think that you can't judge a movie until you have seen it, so I will give it a chance at least....it has to be better than the other attempts as it can't get worse. But Edward Furlong as The Crow, I can't see it. Fair enough he's not actually Eric Draven, which was portrayed so beautifully and emotianally by Brandon Lee.

For those that have no idea about the Crow history, here is the brief history. The Crow is someone who wreaks revenge on those that have killed a loved one of theres, and perhaps themselves. To quote from the first movie 'people once believed that when a person dies, a crow carries their soul to heaven. But sometimes, something so bad happens, and the soul can't rest. The Crow can bring that person back, to make the wrong things right.' - memorised that 😉

The first movie the lead was Eric Draven. I suggest you watch this movie it really is a work of art. The second movie, was pretty dire but this time Ash is the lead who becomes the crow. They then decided to make a third movie. But instead of making another character they decided to re-tell the Eric and Shelly story from the first movie, but changed it into a B movie with B movie actors and completely ruined what was started in the first movie. Those who have seen it will know. And then there is Wicked Prayer. While i'm glad that its a new character i'm not going to hold my breath, but I will apprach it with an open mind, as its a new project. But as far as i'm concered there is only one and thats Brandon. A truly passionate and loving actor which shares a tragic story similar to that of his most famous persona, loveable Eric Draven. Can you tell he's my fave actor 😀

Wow! Well, Faith and Old Master pretty much said it all. I'll give this new one a chance but I won't go into it in a way that will have me aknowledging it as a sequel. Just a different movie all together. The Crow is my all time fav movie as well and all the others pale in comparrison. That movie actually changed my life. They should have left it alone. It beacame more than a movie. It was a tribute to an amazing man and it was a story that began out of true despair. James O'Barr made something that spoke from the very pit of his tortured soul. It's poetry and it's pain. It should have been left as it's own. I agree with Faith and Old Master all the way.
Although it will be fun to see DB play a nasty bad boy!😉
 
I'm with Faith, Rayne, and Old Master. The first Crow was the only good one so far...but i'll give this one a chance...especially to see DB...I'll probably end up hating it! I don't love the idea of thebad guy trying to be an immortal demon...WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ALL ABOUT?

And hey, don't stress over the whole immortal demon thing Jacklyn....it's just like Rayne said, it'll be great just to watch 'ole DB play the big bad. 🙂

One thing I hope DB DOESN'T do is play the role similar to the way he'd play Angelus. I don't wanna watch Angelus version 2.0....lol....I'd really like for him to reach into another part of himself and create a distinctive personality for this Luc character.

Now if you'll excuse me, I hear my CROW Special Edition DVD calling my name.

Hahahahaha! I agree. I hope he plays this role very different.
Oh and I love that scene Old Master! Of course there aren't any I don't like!
I have a new found respect for this one...
