The curse and human

During IWRY Angel became human and the curse seemed non existent, how is that? Was the curse only designed for the vampire and not the particular soul, surely Angel's soul is the same whether he's a vampire or not, is the curse not actually attached to the soul but to the demon?

Angelus was cursed with a soul, but that soul was Liam's. In IWRY, the vampire part of Angel was taken away, leaving Liam with the experience of Angel/us. There was nothing to curse. The whole point of the curse was to punish Angelus. When Angel was turned human, Angelus wasn't an option anymore, because the vampire was taken away, and so the curse went with it.

I've always wanted to know what would have happened if a normal vampire had been infected with the Morah Blood. We saw how affected Angel was with not having his powers anymore. It would have been interesting to see how a regular vampire would have reacted.

Unless I remember it wrong the curse was always on Angelus. And Angelus is the vampire demon. Which would be non-existent in a purely human Angel. So no more curse.

I think you'd end up with a human without a soul. Kind of like the kid in S1 of Angel.

Yeah, but someone like Kralik? The Master? Kakistos? Even Drusilla? The kid without a soul was wicked - an already evil and manipulative vampire turned human? I think it would be interesting to see.

The way I see it is that a soul could only be fluid in a vampire because it is unnatural like a circular block shoved into a square hole. When he was turned human, the hole was turned into a circle and thus the circular block was able to fall into place.

The kid without a soul was wicked - an already evil and manipulative vampire turned human? I think it would be interesting to see.

Wait are we talking about 'I've got You Under my Skin'? That boy wasn't a former vampire (was he?) he was possessed by a demon who'd been attracted to his body's vacancy of a soul, how he was soulless is the mystery. Or was it that they'd accidentally removed his soul along with the demon? In any case however he was a valid example of a soulless human. Basically a sociopath.

I have wondered about this myself and I've come up to the same conclusion Lyri explained so well. But there is another thing I wonder about: why neither Buffy nor Angel approached the topic? why didn't they question if the curse was gone or not? And how could they be so sure there was no risk in having sex?

You'd said "Evil manipulative vampire turned human" but I may have misunderstood your context so for that I apologize. As long as my thought on how the curse didn't transfer to the human version of Angel makes some sense that's what matters. To help make it a little clearer, another factor at play is that the curse was designed for and aimed at a vampire not a human.
